The store has been here for decades, and has a good selection of boots, shoes, camping gear, fleeces, hiking poles, rain gear- you name it! Recently, we have begun enjoying snow shoeing in the winter, and needed an extra pair for a visitor, so in we went to Outdoor Gear, where they bent over backwards to get us outfitted for the very reasonable price of $6 for a 24 hour rental. The snow shoes worked great, the staff was friendly, problem solving (what to put on a dog's feet so they can go snow shooing too?) and it was a great experience. In the summer, the store can get crazy busy and it is less possible to get the full attention service like we did in the winter. In that case, wait your turn, present your need or problem, and they will do everything they can to help you! Your purchase will be top quality and last for years! I have a hiking pack from the 90's, my first pair of hiking poles from 2004, water bottles- all in working order today!

We always appreciate local businesses that are inclusive of well-behaved dogs. The store had a great selection of clothing and souvenirs, and we ended up spending about $75. The staff was friendly and welcoming, making for a great shopping experience. One thing to note is that there isn't a fitting room, but you're welcome to try items on over your clothes, which worked just fine. If you're visiting Estes Park with your dog and want to support a pet-friendly local business, this shop is definitely worth a stop!

I appreciate their honesty, because I would not have noticed it until I got home or back to the motel. They removed that one from the box and grabbed the other one from the window. They very carefully boxed it up. It's now sitting in my front window at my house. Many gift shops in tourist towns have seasonal employees who don't seem to care.
