    Snow tube action

Everything you need & more... Staff is awesome!! I literally could spend a months' worth of paychecks here! Definitely a go-to spot for any winter or summer activities in Estes, Colorado. Did I mention that I wanted to buy everything lol. Can't wait to come back when the National Forest is open & use our "snow tubes" again

Outdoor world is an awesome gear store in Estes Parks for all of your outdoor needs while visiting RMNP. The store has been here for decades, and has a good selection of boots, shoes, camping gear, fleeces, hiking poles, rain gear- you name it! Recently, we have begun enjoying snow shoeing in the winter, and needed an extra pair for a visitor, so in we went to Outdoor Gear, where they bent over backwards to get us outfitted for the very reasonable price of $6 for a 24 hour rental. The snow shoes worked great, the staff was friendly, problem solving (what to put on a dog's feet so they can go snow shooing too?) and it was a great experience. In the summer, the store can get crazy busy and it is less possible to get the full attention service like we did in the winter. In that case, wait your turn, present your need or problem, and they will do everything they can to help you! Your purchase will be top quality and last for years! I have a hiking pack from the 90's, my first pair of hiking poles from 2004, water bottles- all in working order today!

Only commenting to say please update your hours. Yelp says open at 10:30 on a Sunday but the shop was closed. No hours posted on door either

The staff was very helpful and pointed me to the right direction - I was like a kid in a candy store and had what I needed for my hikes!

They steered me to the trout worms over earthworms because they can be kept at room temp and they're smaller so they're easier to use. I told them what tackle I was using and they helped me dial it in. They gave me lots of recommendations and tips for the various lakes, streams in town. They have rod/ reel rentals if you don't have one and a lot of great fly fishing gear and flies as well. I believe they can get you connected with a guide as well. Top quality customer service and amazing local knowledge!!

But mentioned that we could get a refund for the additional day if we happened to make it back before he closed at 4pm. As we're walking out, he suggest that we don't steal them... we return them the same day and he explained that the money for the additional day he made us purchase would be refunded onto our card. We get in the vehicle we realize he gave my fiancé another persons rental ticket by the name Jorge Rodriguez. My fiancé is Hispanic... They suggested we would steal the spikes then gave my fiancé another Hispanic persons ticket. The people here are racist & liars. We called the following day to see if the money would reload to which we were told that they don't do refunds all of the sudden. Overall you'd be better off buying some on Amazon before your trip if you are a POC.

I loved browsing the store! I'm always drawn to the magnets selection. They sell "Oxygen To Go!" canisters in case you need some at this higher altitude or if you ascend to greater heights in Rocky Mountain National Park! Says it's good for recovery - even for hangovers! There is an entire section near the restrooms that is full of black bear figurines and other decorations. So cute! If you're hungry, there is a restaurant here as well. We didn't eat there, so I don't know the quality or what's offered. We ended up exiting the Rocky Mountain National Park at the Fall River Station when we saw this and decided to stop in at the end of the day. We initially went to the Visitor Center before walking over here. After scouring most of the items here, I did take home a few little things to remember my time in the RMNP. The lady who rung us up was friendly and even offered me a free small paper bag for my magnets. Other places were charging for them. It can be a keepsake as well since it is printed with the store's name. This is a good place to shop, kill some time, and chill.

It's got everything you'd expect: T-shirts with bears on them, jars of regional jam, and an alarming number of moose-themed magnets. Honestly, it's less about what's in the shop and more about when you get there. There's a restaurant inside if you need more than trail mix to power through the next stretch of scenic driving. We didn't linger, but we were grateful they had exactly what we needed: clean bathrooms with no-touch faucets. Sometimes, timing is everything.
