Between wait times and billing issues- go somewhere else They rarely run on time, even though you are required to arrive 30 min before your appt, it regularly takes them up to an hour after your appt time to actually see you. Late last year I waited over 2 hours past my appt time to be seen, as the office had an extended closure over lunch for an all hands meeting that they did not notify their patients of...by the time they arrived back the waiting room was full, and it took forever for them to work through all the people that had arrived for appts while they were at their all hands. This place almost never gets things coded correctly to bill to insurance. They ask you to sign one set of paperwork before you arrive that explains "surprise billing" and notes if they are in network, then when you arrive they give you different sets of paper that are vague in terms of what they will bill and don't acknowledge if they are in network. They will verbally tell you if your insurance is expected to cover but won't put that in writing and you must sign a waiver that you will pay all costs. They also ask that you sign another "surprise medical bills form" to protect them in case your insurance is no longer in network. They will tell you this is their process and their lawyers require it. When they code something incorrectly or bill twice for the exact same service it takes many phone calls to resolve as they provide codes to a different dept at the hospital and the billing people don't regularly talk to the people who provide the codes. read more

I've been coming here, this is my 2nd visit in a year. I've had a swollen lymph nodes under my arm and needed quick attention to see if there are other things going on. The front desk is so sweet, very nice and welcoming. A dreadful process, but the techs and nurses made my experience comfortable and easy. Since I used to be an advanced tech at UCH ED and Gen Surge, I knew I was in good hands. You will be too! The mammogram and ultrasound didn't take long, I won't lie though, it's a little uncomfortable and a bit painful. But, in the end... it's so worth it! The Breast Center is on the 3rd floor in the outpatient building, there's plenty of self parking and or complimentary valet. The department has its own wing, huge with lockers and private changing rooms. Before they start with your mammo, they will explain the difference between 2D and 3D imaging. Some PPO insurance will cover the 3D and some does not. It's best to ask your insurance provider before hand. The best part, you'll find out the results right there shortly after your ultrasound sound! Which is pretty amazing!!! There are doctors working to check your images before you are discharge. :) I got my go for an Augmentation, no abnormalities and or swollen lymph nodes! Woo!! I highly recommend them! read more

My mother came in Tuesday 12/14/21 for an appointment. There were two spanish speaking receptionist at 8:40am when my mother arrived for her 9:00 o'clock appt. My mother is not a fluent english speaker, they proceeded to ask her a ton of medical questions to which my mom tried to answer as best as she could but was having difficulties. She mentioned she didn't understand and they proceeded with their questions. When they were ready to sum up their questions one finally asked if she'd like an interpreter. Then the other girl stepped in and said " We both speak Spanish you know, all you have to do is ask. " Then in spanish told her, " this is a doctor's office you cannot half answer your questions. " They saw from the beginning my mother was having trouble understanding them. I work in the medical field and cannot imagine treating a patient like this. So unprofessional and rude. read more

I had to have a mammogram today and I was not excited about it at all. A few of my friends recommended Colorado Breast Care and I will do the same. I was greeted by the front desk with a friendly welcome. The waiting area is small but it may have been because they were so busy. They had cookies, coffee, water, and juice in the waiting area. I didn't wait too long before the nurse took me back to a small changing room. She handed me a warm robe and told me to use the locker in an area that felt sort of like a spa. Then she took me to the 3D mammogram room. She was very gentle and explained everything to me. It was uncomfortable but it was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I recommend coming here for your health care needs. read more

I had to have a breast biopsy several years ago and they were empathetic, caring, and understanding. I am moving out of state and really hope I find the same great care where I'm going. I also had an experience like Lauren L., who rated the facility as a one-star. I went in for my first preventative mammogram. The facility is really shiny and clean, offering perks like free coffee. I was treated well by the staff and technicians. Since my mammogram was preventative, it was covered by my insurance. This was my first mammogram and when they offered me a digital screening and said that my insurance likely wouldn't pay but that it would only cost $45 extra, I declined. I had no idea how that would come back to haunt me. I was asked to return for a diagnostic mammogram and possible ultrasound because they said they found a problem area. I agreed to the diagnostic mammogram but not the ultrasound because I consulted my insurance and knew it would be really high out-of-pocket and I would have to be convinced that it was absolutely imperative. I did not realize that Colorado Breast Care would charge my insurance five times the average of any other place nearby for the diagnostic mammogram. This made my out of pocket cost almost 1,000% higher than if I would've paid the $45 up front (yes, that is the actual math--and that is a fraction of what they charged the insurance company). I guess this is what is meant by hospital billing. I was so disappointed and disillusioned. I will find somewhere else for my preventative mammograms in the future. This was the worst mammogram I've ever experienced. I'm a big girl but I've never had anyone poke and push and squeeze on me like this technician. I originally had two procedures scheduled so there were mixups on their end from the beginning, too soon for the bone density so I would just have the mammogram. The technician either was inexperienced or just didn't want to do the procedure, (she was originally going to do the bone density). I left there bruised and humiliated and I wish there was something less than one star that I could give. read more

My wife went here on several occasions, but on our latest visit, 4-20-22, she was told that her mask was not acceptable. Not because of the type of mask, but because of what was written on it. (No profanity) After being ridiculed and being made to feel like a second class citizen, she walked out without having her mammogram done. We will go elsewhere. read more

I needed an ultrasound and my doctor's office referred me here because it was the first place that could get me in. The radiologist didn't seem very confident at all, saying, "I think this is it right here..." You think? And then after a long period of photos being taken and her seeming very unsure of herself, she left the room to talk to the doctor (who I never once saw) and he said it looked like it was just a fibromyalgia and they recommended I come back every 6 months to monitor it. Well, about a month or two later, I receive a bill from them.....for $1300!!!! For an ultrasound. Mind you, this is AFTER my insurance paid somewhere around $2500+. The cost of any of this was NEVER discussed prior to the ultrasound so not only is this a ridiculous amount of money but it was completely unexpected. I will NEVER go here again and I feel it is my duty to warn women everywhere to never go here. The next ultrasound I got (somewhere else, obviously) I made sure was at a location that doesn't "bill as a hospital" (I had no idea this was a thing but apparently this is why they bill so much - since they're affiliated with UC) and I just got the bill from them...my total: $22 after my insurance! And my insurance was billed less than $300. This should be illegal. You charge thousands for an ultrasound that other places charge a couple hundred? Outrageous. read more

I have been coming to Colorao Breast Care in Aurora for years. Recently I got the scary news that I would need to have a biopsy done. From the very beginning process of getting scheduled, to the completion of the procedure, everything was handled not only professionally, but with complete support and compassion. I has a nervous wreck upon my arrival and was immediately comforted by Bonnie in the front office. I then met the nurse, Deena who was amazing and again, very supportive. Everyone who was involved in the procedure was increcible, especially Terri who stood by my side and literally allowed me to hold and squeeze her hand. I cannot say enough about how the staff at this facility helped make a difficult situation so much better. My thanks to Deena, who went so beyond what she even needed to do for me, to Terri for all of her help and support and to Bonnie for seeing the terrified state I was in and making special effort to comfort me.
