I have had many massages over the years, but Mariane's consultative approach and guidance is what sets her apart from the rest. She truly cares for your well-being, and will make recommendations on "home care" to improve your overall results. She is also a fan of continuous learning, incorporating new methods as she expands her knowledge of her craft. I would highly recommend her services to anyone seeking an RMT that truly goes above and beyond!

Her knowledge of other modalities completely compliment her massage sessions. She worked on my previous injuries from many years back and totally balanced out things that were misaligned. She loosened things up that were tight and took away all my aches. On top of her sessions, she gave me a lot of different stretches and exercises to do which have been helpful. I would recommend Mariane to anyone, every dime is worth it. After I left her session, I felt well cared for, relaxed and rejuvenated.

I genuinely struggle to put into words how gifted Arraya is…read more She has an extraordinary, intuitive understanding of the human body. I sometimes think of her as a surgeon without the surgery -- she has brains in her fingers, knees, elbows, feet, and every other part of her body. She doesn't simply massage sore muscles; she figures out where a problem is coming from and then uses her own body as an incredibly precise therapeutic tool to reach it. During my most recent session, for example, Arraya recognized that I was having issues around my rotator cuff and shoulder. At one point she positioned my armpit over her knee so that she could use her knee underneath the shoulder while simultaneously use both hands above it to stretch, mobilize, and work into areas of tension that I honestly would not have imagined were accessible. The relief was remarkable. That is one of the things that makes her work so extraordinary. She uses leverage, pressure, positioning, stretching, body weight, and different parts of her own body like specialized instruments. There is enormous physical intelligence in what she does. Nothing feels generic; she is constantly responding to what she finds. Thai massage also requires a certain amount of trust because, as the client, you are allowing someone else to move and position your body in ways you could never accomplish yourself. I am continually amazed by how safe I feel in Arraya's hands and by how precisely she seems to understand both what my body needs and how to get there. I have had many massages in my life, but this is something different. Arraya's combination of anatomical knowledge, intuition, strength, creativity, and sheer skill is exceptional. I frequently leave thinking, How on earth did she know to do that? Arraya has an extraordinary gift, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have been referred to her.

After doing some research online for a good psychotherapist, I came across this website and decided…read moreto see one of their therapists/psychologists. Unfortunately the therapist I saw was not a good match for me personality wise. She was very literal, empirical and rational in her approach and her means of speaking with you seemed very factual and scientific. For some people that approach works, for me however, I really didn't benefit at all from seeing her. She had a hard time reading me as a client and I really don't feel like we connected. At the end of the day, I wanted empathy, compassion and she lacked feeling. Personality wise I am a bit more on the emotional spiritual side so even though you would think that someone "logical" could balance out with their approach, the whole process came off as un empathetic, misunderstood and it lacked a feeling of warmth and resonance. I think its important for anyone who is looking for a psychotherapist in the future is to know what they are looking for, ask a lot of questions. That was my mistake, I should have inquired more before committing to a practioner. After all it is healing work. Who knows maybe someone who is analytical, scientific, reasonable and empirical will work for you. Just not for me. It would have been nice if she "checked in" every once in a while with me while we were in session. Good customer service is when you don't assume anything about your client and you ask them how they are doing through the process. With that said I don't want to disclose the psychologist/psychotherapists name, because her intentions meant well and i'm sure she may have helped plenty of others that resonated with her. Otherwise on a side note the owner of the company seems to care about your experience which in terms of a foundation for a company shows integrity.

I spoke about the things my husband at the time had been saying to me which included horrible, negative remarks on how I looked, my intelligence, personality, and even telling me to kill myself. I'll never forget her saying he's "picking on me" because he's not getting attention. This is not picking on someone. This is abuse and it needed to be said. All I needed at that time was for someone to stand up for me and call it what it was and she didn't. Now my ex husband still likely has no idea that he was an abuser. That our marriage fell apart because his words put me into a deep depression and left me with zero self worth. Next time this happens, stand up and call it abuse first and then take the steps to fix it.

Wellbynd located along Richmond St near Spadina is a space offering wellness services (naturopathy,…read moreacupuncture, RMT, osteopathy, cosmetic injections, psychotherapy, reiki, nutrition and sauna) as well as studio fitness classes (yoga and pilates). Located on the 5th floor, the studio/space is accessible by either stairs or elevator and occupies 2 separate units (500 and 501) - one unit for wellness services and the other for classes. This review will only touch on the studio fitness classes. I was gifted an intro 2 class pack to Wellbynd by a friend of mine recently and was curious to try the classes here. Booking classes on their online platform was simple and easy where the website is easy to navigate. I opted to try the "Beyond Sculpt Pilates" class with Zoe. All levels are welcome and mats and props are provided by the studio. Each class has a maximum capacity of around 20 people. There is a late cancellation fee if you cancel less than 8hrs before the class time. If you no show for the class you are also automatically charged $15 as well. I believe the studio is also on Classpass as well. Day of class I showed up about 20 min early (maybe a bit too early but it was my first time there!). I wasn't sure how I was supposed to check in but I did find staff and they showed me where to put my bag/coat and how I can self check-in using the ipad that is located on the wall. You do take off your shoes outside the studio room before entering the studio. There is a small room with cubbies and a coat rack to hang your stuff (no lockers though) to the side. There is also a water station as well. No towels are provided so bring your own if you sweat a lot. Mats are also not assigned so you can pick any mat once you get there. The washroom is shared washroom with other businesses on the same floor so you need a key to open the washroom. The studio space is beautifully designed and has a relaxing ambiance. Class started on time as the instructor guided us through a 50 min low impact pilates workout class using props. She also provided modifications or harder variations of exercises if you wish to do them. My class wasn't full and had about 14-15 people. The class wasn't too challenging for me but it helped that the instructor showed the class harder variations of different exercises. After class ended we were instructed to clean our mats and props using the cleaning spray bottles set to the side of the room. Overall, a beautiful space, clear instruction and a low impact workout! A welcoming environment where it is easy to foster community due to the small class sizes. Will return to try another class at Well Bynd in the future!
