Excellent service for years. I don't know why other people have problems, but sometimes it's attitude from both parties.

We had our HVAC and tankless unit installed by MillTown in 2020 as part of a hydronic heating…read moresystem. A month ago, the commercial‑grade tank they installed failed. Rheem covered the tank under warranty, but MillTown charged $5,800 for the replacement which was essentially a retrofit with minimal changes. After reviewing the work, it was clear the job should have been closer to $3,000 based on industry standards and actual scope. Unfortunately, the workmanship was disappointing. The system was left in a condition that doesn't reflect professional standards -- including a drain valve positioned against another pipe, making it impossible to drain the system properly. I provided photos and a detailed email to Milltown expressing these concerns. Their response was that there "wasn't much to do," and they offered only a $500 credit toward a future service. Given the excessive pricing and the quality of work, a credit for a future service wasn't a reasonable solution, and I declined it. Another concern: their website offers no way to contact the owner or any managers directly. For a company that presents itself as family‑run, that lack of transparency says a lot. Overall, the experience was frustrating from the high cost to the poor workmanship to the dismissive response. Based on this, I cannot recommend MillTown for plumbing or HVAC services.

The lead tech tried to sell us a maintenance plan to get any kind of reasonable discount. Overall, I found their prices way to high. No thanks!! Milltown...people still work for a living. They sold their business and I am in the unfortunate position of finding a new plumber, so I called Foster Plumbing and Heating Inc. If you want to be scammed, call Eric Foster Plumbing and Heating. When I called them to make an appointment for routine maintenance of my year-and-a-half old AC, I was quoted a price of $225. Nothing was said about this being an hourly charge or about other charges. I have been having furnace and AC maintenance done for about 60 years and the charge for this work has been a flat fee. The work generally takes an hour or less. The only additional charge I have ever had o pay has been $10 for a filter if I did not supply my own. When I got a bill for $432, I was sure it was an error, so I called them to request a corrected bill. It was then that I was told that the $225 was an hourly fee. Since the technicians had not been at my home for more than an hour, the charge was still more than I had been quoted. I was then told that they had been working at my home for an hour and 15 minutes, so I was charged for an extra 15 minutes. However, Foster has a strange kind of math as they charged for a half hour for those 15 minutes. That would be $112.50 for that "extra" 15 minutes. Add to that the $94.50 which I was told covered the cost of the liquid used to clean the coils. Pretty expensive liquid, something I have never been charged for in the past!! I was also not told that there would be an additional charge when I made the appointment. I supplied my own filter. As an added "bonus", when I turned my shower on the next morning I was bombarded with ice cold water. Fortunately, I determined that the water heater temperature had been turned off by the technician and carelessly not turned back on. If it had been necessary to call Foster to solve this problem, I would have been billed another $225 or more. I am a senior citizen living on a fixed income, and I live alone. It is necessary for me to be able to hire reliable and honest workmen. Foster Plumbing and Heating certainly will not go on my list of honest and reliable workmen.

The very next day the second heating system I had in an addition failed. I was distraught!! Net Zero gave me a great quote..several thousands less than other HVAC. What they did not tell me that they were only electric heating contractors. So after paying $12,000.00 for installation I now pay an electric bill of $1000.00 a month in the winter. They walked by a brand new gas system in my home..disengaged a second gas heating 50 feet away and installed a unit that is costing me a thousand dollars a month. Not one of the employees ...installers. or project estimators...addressed what a poor and unkind decision this was. Now I have to redo my heating system...sell my house...unable to retire . Would they do the same to their mothers..grandmothers? This is a sad and sorry company. Yes I know I'm a stupid elderly woman with no recourse from people like this. I just hope this warns others to avoid this snake company.

So I assembled a contract using a Massachusetts template contract. In the contract I stated the scope of work, amount owed and the payment schedule in 6 payments with the last payment to be paid after city inspection. The owner, Nick Druziako first insisted that he can't wait until final inspection to be paid even though that is the proper way to do this. I eventually consented to his proposed payment schedule. Next he insisted that I sign his "contract" which was not a contract but an estimate even titled as such -- with a list description of the covered scope but written in poorly formed text and even misspelling the customer's name incorrectly. I told him that we needed to sign a real contract. But he insisted that an estimate is sufficient. Eventually he and his partner decided to bail but after collecting $700 from me for a manual J calculation that cost them $2 to do. They Insisted that the payment schedule was too complicated even though it was exactly what they proposed. If you do business with this company definitely ask or provide a formal contract. Based on other reviews here they definitely are going to just walk away once they collect their money. Don't believe the talk about "long term customers". Wanting a huge down payment deposit without a contract is definitely a red flag. Edit: Nick complains that the contract says that the client can walk out at any time. But the actual contract says both parties can end it. Since the deposits are significant the contractor can actually walk away with money without doing any work. Had Nick actually read the contract. It basically states that if the contractor abandons the job before work is done then they need to refund back the extra deposit already paid. The issue here is they never looked at the contract seriously. If they can't even read a simple templated contract they may not be competent enough to install HVAC -- which is very technical.
