Went in for an inspection sticker and left with a $989 bill. I knew the car needed work but not to this extent. Check engine/ airbag lights were on, they "replaced" 2 sensors and the clock spring. When I picked the car up the gas was on empty, and the odometer read 100+ miles more than when I dropped it off. He said they had to drive it around to reach the drive cycles after clearing the check engine light. However, Two days later my check engine light is back on. When I called he said my car is sensitive and I didn't tighten the gas cap properly. After checking the engine light, the sensor throwing the code has nothing to do with the fuel pump/tank. Seems like they charged me for work they did not do. Horrible experience, I'd advise heavily against doing business here. Considering filing a claim to BBB. read more

Noticing that I did not speak Spanish, the woman working the front desk asked the mechanic to come over and to give their assessment of my car and the maintenance they billed me for. I felt respected, that they had done the basics without padding my bill or upselling to me, and they didn't waste my time. I am glad to have found a reliable mechanic in my neighborhood. I'm a bit perplexed by Laura's rave review. Service is one thing, but customer communication is another. I don't speak Spanish, I speak English. I called to ask questions about possible water damage, etc. and I really didn't get anyone on the line fluent enough to answer any of my questions. Initial questions not fully comprehended = I'm not bringing my car problems to you for an evaluation, nevermind a repair. end of review. read more

Got a flat tire last night and needed to find somewhere local to bring my car this morning so I didn't lose half a days work trying to get it fixed. Dropped the car off with the flat in the trunk and the donut on. Walked downtown to work and got a call later in the day saying it was all set. When I picked it up they only charged me $10. Friendly, professional service and cheap prices? I will definitely keep coming here when I need routine maintenance. read more

I'm new to the area and was stressing about where to bring my rumbling car. On a friend's recommendation I tried Colombia and I have only good things to say. I didn't need an appointment, they explained what was going on with my car in language a layperson would understand, were honest about what needed to be dealt with as a safety issue versus cosmetic concerns and presented me with multiple options. And it was all taken care of within hours at a really reasonable price. As for the review below about a language barrier (from a person who didn't even go to them), I experienced no such issue. The phone was answered in Spanish and as soon as I begin speaking in English the man I spoke to answered me in English. Seems pretty normal to me for a highly Spanish-speaking area, to me. 5 stars all around. Good service. Friendly. Fast. No complaints here. read more

I'm just going to write out exactly what happened :( I hope it's helpful. I brought my 2008 Honda Civic to Colombia Auto Services because the heating gauge was on high. A mechanic at the shop referred to as "Junior" told me I needed a new water pump. Later he informed me that while he was trying to replace the water pump he had broken the crankshaft pulley, and also that he had to weld a new bolt and stud. Each time Junior told me that the car would be ready, I would show up, and he would then ask me to come back at a later time, because the car was "very complicated". After the water pump was replaced, he informed me that there was a crack in my engine block and that I needed a new engine, which made me doubt that I had ever needed a water pump. I asked for the parts that were taken off, and was told that the broken portion had been "lost". I was then given a working water pump. I was very concerned about my car so I payed and picked it up to get a second opinion. When driving it home from the shop the car was making loud rattling noises, so I had it towed to the Honda dealership. The dealership informed me that my car had a recall on the engine block and therefore, Majestic Honda replaced it. They also informed me that the water pump was installed incorrectly and that I needed a new water pump kit. Furthermore, I needed a new crankshaft pulley because it was stripped, as well as a new bolt and stud because the wrong type of bolt had been welded in place. There was also a large gouge in the timing chain cover. Thanks to Majestic Honda in Lincoln, RI my car is now up and running. read more

I have been taking my foreign cars to Junior for over 4 years now. Similar to Laura's review, I have had the same great experience. These are hard working honest men who do great work. If you can get to their shop you will get your car fixed for 1/2 the cost anywhere else. *To Aaron M.- The mechanics are Colombian.. hence why it is called Columbia Auto.. and although English is their second language, I can understand them without issue every time and they speak fluent Spanish as well.. I just can't believe how much I love this place. It feels so reassuring to find a good mechanic - these guys don't b#$@t at all. Alberto is just awesome. They always charge a legit price for the part and labor, to the point where I feel like I'm robbing them and I give them a tip or buy them coffee. They never try to sell me anything else besides what I come in for. Yesterday I paid half of what another mechanic was going to charge me for a new alternator, and back in the fall I paid half of what I had been quoted elsewhere for a new water pump - which tells you how full of crap other mechanics are. I towed my car 17 miles to them from a different mechanic because I knew they would do a better job for less. Not only that, but I have brought my car in before when I thought there was a problem, and they spent the whole day checking and re-checking, only to find that there was no problem and charged me nothing for it. I can really say these guys are awesome!!!! Yes, there can be a barrier with language but there are 2 mechanics there that speak perfect ENGLISH. Anyhoo, just so everyone can get an idea on how awesome they are I'll keep it short and sweet. My car's computer went out on me in April 2013 and I was not able to pay the balance in full until Feb 2014 due to a hardship. They kept my car there and did not charge me extra and fixed my car. They did a great job. They are honest and great at what they do. I always take my car to them when it needs fixed and all my friends go to them too. I came in a few months ago to get an inspection done, and found out that my wheel rotors needed to be replaced or it would not pass. I authorized them doing the replacement, and when I went to pick up the car, the battery was dead because they had left the lights on, and when I drove off the lot, my right wheel immediately started smoking. The gave my car a passed inspection, and then just put the old rotor back on, and told me to come back in two days so that they could replace it again. I did, but now for the last few months, the rotors make a whirring sound every time I make turns. I can't help but think this was unnecessary work. read more
