I didn't think any place could take me in a couple of hours on the same day BUT when I called Abington Spa they were so welcoming and compassionate about getting me in to see Amy for a deep tissue massage. Location: when I pulled up to the building and parked I had to walk to front door only to see the small print that the spa was located around back and to park in the back. I was a bit annoyed for wished the receptionist could have stated that on the phone call especially knowing the sharp excruciating pain I was in but anyways. I like the décor of the place very tranquil. Amy greeted me and asked me if I wanted water or WINE.. I immediately smiled and chose wine. Service: the deep tissue massage was so good I loved the pressure she gave and the fact that she asked me if the pressure was good throughout the service. She was really able to dig into the muscle and work thru the kinks. I later found out that she worked at a rehab facility for years and that is where she knew how to identify tough areas. she was a life saver. The only reason I gave this place a 3 star out of 5 was because they didn't have me fill out any forms to find out if I was allergic to anything, if I had any known skin disorders. things that you should ask before working on someone.

For instance, I had a couple photos on Instagram saved of the types of balayage I wanted, but most were too dark at the root or way too platinum blonde at the tips. At her suggestion, I opted instead for a nice, subtle, warm blonde balayage to complement my already dirty blonde/ash blonde base. It came out perfect and the lighter shade blends seamlessly with my root, for a nice, even flow that will be super low maintenance when it grows out (a must for me). Plus, the products she used made the locks nice and soft, and my fresh long layers give my hair a nice bounce it desperately needed. Would definitely return and I highly recommend!

She said of course no problem. However not a single one of them has a clean line. It's extremely noticeable because I chose a dark color. On top of that, I asked several times for her to straighten the edges of my nails with the file, as I like a really sharp square. She kept rounding out the corners and got frustrated I wasn't happy. Overall, the salon looked and felt really luxe, but the outcome of my nails is mediocre and I now have to fix them at home because I'm disappointed. Completely lazy and rushed. I had to have a friend go through and fix it yesterday and she kept finding all these mistakes all over my head. I can't believe the stylist here sent me out of the salon like that. I couldn't even ask for a discount on the service because the manager left 2 hours before my hair was done and I was all alone with 2 stylists that clearly just graduated from beauty school and were just winging it. I had no idea this was going to happen and I was told I was in good hands only to be overcharged for a terrible job that was worth $50. The friend that fixed my hair after this salon is a teacher at a beauty school and she was appalled at the way they did the work. Do not go to this salon, they do not know what they are doing and will overcharge you. I've paid $300 for a full foil, a Brazilian blowout, and a haircut from a much higher end salon so the price here was definitely not worth it for a FULL FOIL that ended up not being a full foil. It feels like the stylist here only put 10 foils in my head. All the pictures I'm posting are the mistakes my friend found throughout the hair (there were more but she got tired of taking pictures of all the mistakes because there were so many), to the result of what it's supposed to look like once my friend was done. I'm also adding a picture of my hair a year ago when it was done to how my hair looked three weeks after getting it done here.

Lisa was so friendly, knowledgeable and definitely made me feel less nervous. The treatment itself was top notch, everything was explained to me and it felt really amazing! I also had a brown sugar body scrub and that felt out of this world. My skin was incredibly soft after. I felt so relaxed and calmed which is mind blowing because I'm always tense, anxious and stressed. To be noted, I am a vegan and I love supporting vegan friendly businesses. It was comforting to know that the body scrub didn't have any harsh chemicals or animal products. Oh, another important tidbit, I think the dog also helped put me at ease! And then the treatment room has the prettiest Himalayan salt lamps set up. A very beautiful aesthetic. At the end, I talked with the owner, Erika; and she's also very friendly and knowledgeable.
