I was told by the nurse that he prescribed AUGMENTIN for five days. I was alarmed and told her my mom is ALLERGIC to penicillin!!! I called Dr. Balot directly about this and he said it was "OK because the pharmacy would catch it"!!!!! OMG!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? Then he told me that he is SO busy, has SO many patients and that he didn't have her chart in front of him at the time. He AGAIN reiterate that is was "OK because the pharmacy would have caught it"!! So...he is dependent on someone else catching his MISTAKES became HE'S SO BUSY and DOESN'T look at the charts when prescribing medication??? He could have KILLED my mom!!! He continuously sent her for x-rays when she said she was in pain with her right leg (calf). She had hip surgery and the pain is from her not being ambulated and walked enough! I asked him WHY he keeps sending her for x-rays when it's clear he should be sending her for an MRI to diagnose muscle and nerve damage....not to keep looking for a fractured bone!! HORRIBLY INCOMPETENT and do not trust him. Had him pulled off my mom's care team. Oh....and his wife, Karen, the office administrator is a BITCH!! When she was in the hospital staying for a few days, he came and visited her and checked on her lab results and everything and told her to come for a follow up once she's out. He makes sure that she sees other physicians as well so they could all work together to help her have a better health. A different time when my dad ended up getting the flu and the office was closed. I ended up writing through the portal requesting medication for him thinking that they would respond back to me at normal business hours, but Dr Balot ended up writing the script that same day showing his care for his patients no matter what. I would definitely recommend to have Dr Balot as your primary physician.

We have had this appointment scheduled for a month. Her insurance hasn't changed. The office has had her insurance information since she made the appointment. They could have called us at any point prior to 9:25am today and we could seek care elsewhere. The front desk staff are completely incompetent and unprofessional. This is a practice that needs to be absorbed by a bigger hospital organization and ensure competent patient care. We wasted our time and my girlfriend now has delay of care in tending to her active medical issues. Completely unacceptable. Do not go here.

The only reason she got 4 stars is you will wait FORVER. Be prepared. For me it is worth it. I waited 2 hours to see her but she spent a good hour with me. She never makes you feel rushed. If you can sit there and not get frustrated waiting, she is well worth the wait. Don't be shy. she will look over every inch of your naked body and prod and poke but you will know you are in great hands and if she says you are OK and healthy, you are.

Although I've been to this practice before, I brought my 18-year-old daughter for her first…read morenon-pediatric visit. She has a lot of concerns, has long had difficulty being taken seriously at the pediatricians' practice, and increasingly complained of discomfort and palpitations for over a week prior to her visit. I booked through ZocDoc, so it didn't actually generate a true appointment with the younger Dr. Hertz. I would have understood being moved to a different day, but on a busy Sunday, they still fit my daughter in to see the other Dr. (Howard) Hertz. Yes, there was a wait, which is to be expected on a Sunday and I brought a book. My daughter wanted to go in alone (her first time) and she was very apprehensive, and had been distressed in the days prior due to intensifying discomfort and broad symptoms. She came out of her visit extremely relieved, her concerns addressed, and with some testing appointments scheduled. She is afraid of blood draws, and said the nurses gave her an alcohol pad to sniff (normally I am there with her, so she was probably more anxious). In her entire medical history, she has always felt like any symptom she asked about was unaddressed, and the change in her demeanor after her visit was immediate - she was no longer scared she was seriously ill or on the verge of death. So on a busy Sunday, Dr. Hertz had a billion patients and still managed to make my sensitive/shy teenager feel heard, seen, and safe. I wasn't present so I didn't get the chance to explain her distress and discomfort, and he and the nurses noticed and addressed it anyway. My daughter is relaxed now and feels relieved, and I am so impressed that every person with whom she interacted made her feel safer and calmer. And I finally got to read my book!
