A-Z Plumbing & Mechanical

A-Z Plumbing & Mechanical

(1 review)

I hired A-to-Z Plumbing & Mechanical for a commercial project. The project included converting two…read morebathrooms into one large bathroom, installing one water heater, four commercial sinks, and one grease interceptor. My first suspicion was when they requested half the total cost of the job upfront. My first mistake was giving the owner the lump sum for the entire job and signing a contract that said my deposit was nonrefundable. This was an overall horrible experience with this company. I was left with an incomplete job and no return of the deposit. I recommend never signing a contract where the contractor asks for half of the entire project upfront. I have since learned that there are three phases to a plumbing job: groundwork, rough-in, and installation. Each phase should be broken down and itemized in the contract so you see exactly what you are paying for. You should only pay half the amount for each phase until that phase is completed. Deposits are not a windfall for the company but to cover material costs. I recommend reading your contract carefully and having it reviewed by a contract lawyer. It will be the best $350.00 you spend.

Tim went under the house in the crawl space and discovered that the Heat-pump installers several years ago had lifted the sloping 2" drain to accommodate their own lines creating a low spot which allowed grease and crud to accumulate. Tim came back out later with materials and replaced the lines to required specifications and fixed it for good! I might add that all the folks there are very friendly. I will use them again, if ever needed. The only minor thing I would add is that if quoted a bid, get it in writing and sign it to protect both you and the company. If it is an hourly quote, you should be fine also, since their prices and service are very reasonable. Service: 5 stars Quality: 5 stars Value: 5 stars

I can't say enough good things about Steve and Frank from N.W. Plumbing Connection Inc.! They…read morediagnosed my plumbing issue with expert precision, and installed a new system faster than I could have imagined. Their work was flawless--clean, efficient, and built to last. What really stood out was their honesty; they explained everything in detail, gave me fair pricing, and didn't try to upsell me on anything I didn't need. It's rare to find such skilled, trustworthy, and down-to-earth professionals these days. Steve and Frank are the gold standard in plumbing--5 stars all the way! I'll never call anyone else!

Have worked with At Your Service for YEARS! It finally came time that we really needed to replace…read morethe galvanized pipes in our home that was built in the early 60s. Because of the size of the job we got some estimates from several plumbers in the local and Seattle area. At Your Service wasn't the least expensive, but it was the most fair, thorough, and transparent estimate we received. Andy and Brett went through the entire house and crawl space to really understand the job to prepare an absolutely reasonable estimate. We were so glad because we already really liked working with them. Once we agreed on the work and estimate, they took care of managing all of the permits and recommended a company they worked with and trusted to help us open up our sidewalk. Made getting the project going real easy for us. I can't tell you how many times I called and talked to Elizabeth, but she was always patient and helpful every time. Andy, Brett, Kyle, and Kash all primarily did the work. It was a week long project and they were laughing and having a great time through it all. The quality and attention to detail was impeccable. I could even hear them get excited about how well the installation was going and how proud they were to have done such a great job. I am fortunate enough to know what it's like to work with people you really enjoy collaborating with and what that can do to elevate not only your own performance, and quality of work, but also as a team; these folks have the right spirit and stellar skills! We only had one little bump and Dan came over to help out the team with patching up our sewer main when the flow was interrupted. The job was done exactly when they said it would be and we are SO HAPPY with the results. Our water flow and drainage is phenomenal. We will always be At Your Service customers for life!! Thank you Andy, Brett, Kyle, Kash, Dan, and Elizabeth!!

A bid was given to repair a bathroom faucet valve. The bid was accepted at $222 plus tax. The…read morerepair could not be completed 'due to damage to the valve' and I was still charged $222 plus tax and left with the same problem I started with. Your reply was not the scenario as it was explained to me. Your Scheduler explained a $49 Diagnostic and Trip charge which would be applied to work being done. I don't mind paying the $49 for the diagnosis. But I do mind paying for a repair that was not done. This was not an 'old' fixture. This valve was two years old. The bid was presented to me as though the diagnosis had been made and the technician was 'sure' that the repair could be made at $222 plus tax. If the scenario had been explained to me that it would cost me $222 plus tax for a 'diagnosis' and that there was a possibility the repair could not be made and I would still have to pay $222 plus tax I WOULD NEVER HAVE AGREED TO THE WORK BEING DONE. Your company will be reported to The Better Business Bureau and a complaint will be followed up on. Your business practices are deceiving at best, and not acceptable. I was deceived by your Technician in a Bait and Switch transaction. I have also instigated a 'Small Claims Court' Claim in Pierce County Court for the difference between the $49 Diagnostic Quote I was told about when I scheduled the appointment, and the amount of $222 plus tax that I was actually charged.
