I hired A-to-Z Plumbing & Mechanical for a commercial project. The project included converting two…read morebathrooms into one large bathroom, installing one water heater, four commercial sinks, and one grease interceptor. My first suspicion was when they requested half the total cost of the job upfront. My first mistake was giving the owner the lump sum for the entire job and signing a contract that said my deposit was nonrefundable. This was an overall horrible experience with this company. I was left with an incomplete job and no return of the deposit. I recommend never signing a contract where the contractor asks for half of the entire project upfront. I have since learned that there are three phases to a plumbing job: groundwork, rough-in, and installation. Each phase should be broken down and itemized in the contract so you see exactly what you are paying for. You should only pay half the amount for each phase until that phase is completed. Deposits are not a windfall for the company but to cover material costs. I recommend reading your contract carefully and having it reviewed by a contract lawyer. It will be the best $350.00 you spend.

I wholeheartedly recommend NW Plumbing Connection Inc. after a recent sewer line repair. We had…read moreraw sewage in our basement and had been unable to use our bathroom or kitchen facilities for a full week. Upon contact with NW Plumbing Connection, Dan P. responded immediately and professionally. He was knowledgeable and extremely calming. He thoroughly investigated and explained what the problem was, where the problem was, cleared the line and provided us with alternatives on how to repair the damage and the costs associated with each level of repair. His communication skills in keeping us informed were exemplary regarding any delays. After his initial investigation and set up, Dan handed the excavation and install work over to Rueben and his team. Rueben's team was courteous and creative in resolving our problems. The area the line break occurred in was a steep terrain, difficult to approach. The winter weather was extremely bad with relentless hard rain, wind and hail. Despite the weather, Rueben's crew worked diligently and completed the job within the time frame originally estimated. Other than the obvious overturned earth work, the crew left my property in better condition than when they approached it. Because of their creative problem solving, the end cost was actually less than originally estimated. Based on this experience, I would not hesitate to recommend N.W. Plumbing Connections.

Tim went under the house in the crawl space and discovered that the Heat-pump installers several years ago had lifted the sloping 2" drain to accommodate their own lines creating a low spot which allowed grease and crud to accumulate. Tim came back out later with materials and replaced the lines to required specifications and fixed it for good! I might add that all the folks there are very friendly. I will use them again, if ever needed. The only minor thing I would add is that if quoted a bid, get it in writing and sign it to protect both you and the company. If it is an hourly quote, you should be fine also, since their prices and service are very reasonable. Service: 5 stars Quality: 5 stars Value: 5 stars

Have worked with At Your Service for YEARS! It finally came time that we really needed to replace…read morethe galvanized pipes in our home that was built in the early 60s. Because of the size of the job we got some estimates from several plumbers in the local and Seattle area. At Your Service wasn't the least expensive, but it was the most fair, thorough, and transparent estimate we received. Andy and Brett went through the entire house and crawl space to really understand the job to prepare an absolutely reasonable estimate. We were so glad because we already really liked working with them. Once we agreed on the work and estimate, they took care of managing all of the permits and recommended a company they worked with and trusted to help us open up our sidewalk. Made getting the project going real easy for us. I can't tell you how many times I called and talked to Elizabeth, but she was always patient and helpful every time. Andy, Brett, Kyle, and Kash all primarily did the work. It was a week long project and they were laughing and having a great time through it all. The quality and attention to detail was impeccable. I could even hear them get excited about how well the installation was going and how proud they were to have done such a great job. I am fortunate enough to know what it's like to work with people you really enjoy collaborating with and what that can do to elevate not only your own performance, and quality of work, but also as a team; these folks have the right spirit and stellar skills! We only had one little bump and Dan came over to help out the team with patching up our sewer main when the flow was interrupted. The job was done exactly when they said it would be and we are SO HAPPY with the results. Our water flow and drainage is phenomenal. We will always be At Your Service customers for life!! Thank you Andy, Brett, Kyle, Kash, Dan, and Elizabeth!!

UPDATE: I believe it is important to update my original…read morereview based on the company's response to my concerns. After I posted my review, Jeff, the manager, personally contacted me regarding my experience. He was kind, professional, and genuinely apologetic about how my service call was handled. Jeff explained that company policy requires customers to be informed of service charges before any work is performed and acknowledged that this did not happen in my case. He stated that he addressed the matter with the employee involved to help ensure it does not happen again. Most importantly, Jeff took immediate steps to make the situation right and offered me a full refund. I have since checked my credit card account and the refund is currently pending. While I was extremely disappointed and frustrated by my initial experience, I am equally impressed by the company's willingness to take responsibility, listen to a customer complaint, and take corrective action. Mistakes can happen in any business, but how a company responds to those mistakes speaks volumes about its character. I appreciate Jeff's professionalism and commitment to customer service. Based on the way this matter was resolved, I do not believe the company intends to take advantage of its customers, and I am grateful for their efforts to rectify the situation. Original: They were quick to respond to my request for service. However, the pricing was, in my opinion, unreasonable and bordering on unethical for less than five minutes of work. The technician used a high-powered snake to unclog a toilet and charged nearly $400 for the service. When I called, I was only informed of a $50 service call fee that would be applied toward any work performed. No one provided an estimate or discussed the potential cost of a simple toilet clog before the work was completed. The technician arrived, assessed the problem, fixed it within minutes, and then left briefly before returning with a tablet showing a bill for almost $400. I was genuinely shocked. Had I been informed of the cost beforehand, I would have had the opportunity to make an informed decision. I feel taken advantage of and believe the pricing was excessive for the service provided. Unfortunately, my lack of knowledge about plumbing costs came at a high price. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and sharing my experience so that other consumers can make informed decisions before agreeing to service.
