Eli does a wonderful job getting to know the student and families. He is easy to speak with and worked with our teen to navigate testing (SSAT and HSPT) for private high schools. Being from a progressive K-8 language immersion program, we benefited greatly from Eli's test taking guidance. After dedicating 2 hours a week plus self-study, our 13 year old made it into Honors level for SHC and SI. Also, while independent schools were test optional/ no test required, the SSAT/ HSPT prep process helped our teen feel much more confident based on the solid scores during practice and actual test results. Eli is super helpful with the student and parent essays. We wrote 100% of our own essays. However, Eli helped tease out more compelling and personal narratives to add to our prose. I've worked with a handful of math tutors through my elementary to high school experience. With help from each of them, I ended up with the highest grade I believed I could get, a "C". In all those years of conditioning, and believing that I couldn't achieve more than that, you can believe that I'd been in shock when I received my first "B" ever. Additionally, this happened in PreCalc/Algebra 2, comparably, the harder option that school year (11th grade). Now, closing in with my last year of high school, I'm taking AP Statistics (something I never thought of taking before) and in each quarter, I've received an "A" on my progress report. This complete turnover wouldn't have happened without Eli and his devotion to making sure in every question, I understood it to the fullest capacity. In my two years spent with him, I've grown to not feel embarrassed when saying the wrong answer.
