We couldn't be happier with the results! Daron connected us with Jillian who worked with our son in Honors Biochemistry and helped him build both his understanding of the material and his confidence in the class. Thanks to Jillian's expertise and ability to explain complex concepts in a way that made sense, our son earned an A in the class! Daron is very easy to work with, flexible and rates for tutoring are very reasonable! I'm sure we'll be working together again in the near future as our son advances to physics and sports medicine courses. read more

We first sought the help of Daron and his team as we were coming out of the pandemic in 2021. Our son needed help getting back on track, but mostly in building up his academic confidence. Since then, we implicitly trust Daron to pair our teen with the right tutor depending on the subject. We have referred his services to several friends as needed, without hesitation! 10/10 review and 5 stars! read more

My son isn't someone who is known for holding back a complaint, however, he has never complained about tutoring with Lhia. In fact, he sometimes remembers to send her the work ahead of time!! Lhia has been great. She goes above and beyond with her work both during the sessions and afterwards. We can't thank her enough for everything she does and her support. read more

Amazing experience with math tutoring. My daughter just received an award for mathematics excellence this year. Went from b/c student to all a's this year. They will work with you to find a proper fit and adjust as needed read more

We've had a wonderful experience with Bay Area Tutors, Daron and our tutor, Can. We were referred by a friend who had a great experience with Daron, but we were reluctant to try because we've found that online classes are tough for our teenager. They really have remote tutoring dialed - making sure you have the right equipment (document camera, no chromebooks) and best practices for how to work remotely. Tutoring has gone really well, and we've been so impressed with how Can goes the extra mile in preparing extra questions relevant to the lesson and also recording explanations when they run out of time. This new integrated math is tricky, and Can really breaks it down and helps our teenager understand the concepts. The entire intake and onboarding process occurred asynchronously and online, and it turned out great. Daron is very responsive, responding to my initial inquiry within 12 hours and also texting me immediately following the tutoring session to see how it went. read more

This was the best investment! Daron was so responsive, professional, and caring. My daughter (who is really shy) was struggling and pretty much failing her Statistics class. Daron paired her with Aleyna who was amazing! She made my daughter feel comfortable and has a real knack at making difficult material understandable. My daughter was able to pass with a B+, which is pretty amazing. They were also very flexible and added extra sessions we requested last minute during midterm and finals. I was really nervous when searching for a tutor because I didn't know any one who could vouch by word of mouth and I had to rely on reviews. Im so grateful I found Bay Area Tutors, they are LEGIT. I can't rave enough about the great experience we had in working with them and I will definitely use them again. read more

If I could give more stars, I would! I was very nervous about working with an external tutoring service since our current tutor we were previously working with unfortunately couldn't continue. Daron was super responsive (the other places I contacted never responded to my inquiries), and was able to listen to all our concerns, challenges, and pair us up with a WONDERFUL tutor for our incredibly shy kiddo, as well as offer flexibility in their scheduling. The sign up process was efficient/clear and the sessions have been going smoothly! Thank you so much to Bay Area Tutors and their staff! We are so happy with Daron and his team of tutors! My daughter worked with Maia for her sophmore chem class - she was reallllllllyyyyyyy struggling both with the content of the class and the teaching style of her teacher. Maia worked with Lucy, helping break down the concepts into chunks she could understand. Lucy is also a competitive athlete and misses a lot of class during the winter/spring ski season....Maia really helped bridge those gaps, keeping Lucy on track through the season.....and her grade reflects that!!! So grateful. read more

I really wasn't sure how my 12-year-old son would react to being asked to sit for an hour and do math on a Tuesday night with a tutor, but he emerged from his first session with Say absolutely energized. He came bounding up the stairs with a big smile on his face and said excitedly that it went really well and that it was "fun". FUN!! Honestly I've never, EVER seen him react like that to the subject, so I could not be happier with our initial experience. Well done Say (and thank you Daron for connecting us)!! read more

Super positive experiences for both of my kids with Bay Area Tutors. Daron worked with us to find the right personality fits for my son to catch him up on his PreCal. He also coordinated and worked around my daughter's demanding sports schedule to find a tutor who was willing to work with her later at night, also for PreCal. I'm pleased to say, both of my kids are getting back on track and seeing success on quizzes and tests and overall comprehension. Added bonus when your teenager likes and thanks you (as a parent) for finding their tutor. read more

Tracy is exceptionally patient. She provides many approaches, visuals and strategies to help break down the complicated steps with probability questions in statistics. Later after the session, Ian was able to explain some of the steps in approaching the probability question they worked on this evening. I scribed our son's words and we used her excellent notes. This is a big accomplishment for our son! Her tree visualization was very helpful in isolating the variables, their types, calculating their compliments/ inverses; systematically working from the from the marginal to more complex joint variables. We are so appreciative of her talents! She is a gifted tutor! read more

I can see why we are seeing all 5 star reviews here. This is a great plan that allows kids to either get on track or back on track. For my boy who was in the midst of his 1st year in high school, it was also the 1st time he ever home schooled due to Covid. Prior to Covid, he had been on the principal's honor roll, year after year, in middle school. He got into high school and was struggling bad, even failing one class. When Daron told me about Bay Area Tutors, I thought it might be a good idea to allow my son some one on one supplemental tutoring. According to my son, Tracy really helped him as he suggested "classes slowed down". He said that it was easy to ask questions and get answers. The one on one care became the difference for my 14 year old to end the school year with confidence. He said the class became easy as Tracy laid it out in a way that allowed him to be much more involved. Great job, Daron and Tracy! Thank you both! read more

Seriously I can't tell you how much this program has meant to us. My son got super sick and missed a month of school last year. The only thing I did was to try to keep him in Bay Area Tutors program. He ended the year with an A in math. Seriously unbelievable and so impressed. We can't say enough about Daron and his team. read more

Darren has helped both my kids tremendously, he is the best. Always amazed by the quality of tutors that he has access to, and the range of subject matter he covers. It's a major help in some of the more difficult subject matters in high school. Thank you, Darren & team!! You guys are the best! read more

My daughter has struggled with math throughout elementary, middle school and now high school.  She is a visual-spatial learner and has difficulty sustaining auditory attention. Additionally she has some anxiety disorder, and experiences social stress and fear of failure. Math is her least favorite subject and as a result, struggles to understand and apply the concepts. We've tried other math tutoring programs, but they had no positive impact. These other math tutoring businesses only frustrated my daughter further and she seemed to give up. Additionally, the switch to online/remote learning further exasperated my daughter's success with learning math. There was no accountability via the online system to check what my daughter was doing. Online tutors from these businesses tutor multiple children at the same time with worksheets given to the student to work on. The tutors wait for the child to ask questions. My daughter has a fear of failure, so if she thinks she doesn't know something, she won't ask. Fast forward to mid-April 2022, and my discovery of Bay Area Tutors and Daron Cam. What a difference he and his assigned tutor, Christina, has made in just a month's timeframe. I was looking for proactive tutoring to ensure my daughter was learning and applying the concepts. Daron recommended Christina for my daughter's tutoring and she is a perfect match for my daughter, making a connection with my daughter, empowering her and ensuring accountability and follow-thru on each lesson/homeowork. I feel she truly has made a difference and has helped to boost my daughter's confidence in math.  My daughter was well prepared for her Geometry final and received a passing grade in the course. This is the best she's done on a math final in recent years.  I am so pleased with the progress.  I can't thank Christina enough for the help in such a short time. Tremendous thanks to Daron and his team! I highly recommend Bay Area Tutors! read more
