Throughout the college application process, I have felt so so incredibly supported by BEEC. There were several times that they truly picked me up and helped me get on track. They did all of this apart from the actual college counseling. There is so much I have to say so and I want to highlight a few things in this review. In particular, I remember Jonathan Ginsberg saying one thing that sort of stuck with me and something I think about a lot. I remember he told me that anyone who chooses to work with kids for a living is in it for more than helping out with technical work and that it consists of a higher motive. I thought this statement was so incredibly profound and such a nice thing for anyone to hear -- including me. Jonathan Ginsberg and Jesse Mosqueda have fully embodied this and probably the best example of this true statement. I guess I always knew this but never felt it until I worked with their team. Out of all the mentors or teachers I had, the counselors I worked with understood me so well in a way others could not. They always knew what to say whether it was words of encouragement or helping me come up with an idea. They connect with their students so well and make a bigger impact past their services. And to that, I just want to share times they have done this with me that I am forever thankful for. 1. Even before we started counseling with BEEC or paid the first part of fees, Jonathan Ginsberg and Jesse Mosqueda still met with me and my family over zoom apart from the consultation call (twice to be exact -- one was to answer extra questions my family and I had and the second one was helping me decide what internships to take options and what to sort of choose). They gave me clear answers to somethings I was really confused about was and it was very considerate for them to help me out even before we were officially under BEEC's services. 2. Every week or so, Jonathan Ginsberg and Jesse Mosqueda always checked in via email and asked how I was doing overall and how school was going. I never really responded, to be honest, but the one time I did, when I was feeling really stressed-- they just took all of my stress away. I shared with them how I was feeling overwhelmed with school, my research paper, an Uber internship, college apps, and the time because I had to travel to the east coast for family matters. They somehow managed to 1) delay my uber internship a week 2)fine-tune my research paper 3)meet with me twice that week to create rough drafts of supplemental essays and my common app essay 4) worked with me quickly and accommodated for me being three hours ahead of California. When I was in such great care this week, I got so much motivation to continue. Finally, BEEC's counseling technique was so incredibly effective. They were all very approachable and never showed any judgment. That was a really important factor to me to ensure that I had full creative control over my ideas. It created such an effective and beautiful atmosphere. The people who I worked with treated me like a friend rather than a teacher/counselor and I am so happy with the overall college counseling process! read more

We met with Benjamin at BEEC for a complimentary initial meeting and honestly got a lot out of it, even though we walked in not knowing much. Our daughter is going into 10th grade. Her school does have counselors, but with that many students per counselor, we weren't sure how much individual attention any one kid really gets. The school counselors also tend to focus on the junior and senior years, and we wanted to start prepping earlier so we'd have more time to work with. Benjamin filled in a lot of those gaps in one sitting. He really knows his stuff, and he listens. When our daughter mentioned she was drawn to two different directions but wasn't sure which, he pointed out that the two could actually be combined into one popular major, something we'd never even heard of before. Then he suggested a specific summer program that fit, and it had a deadline coming up fast. Because we'd met with him when we did, we got her application in just in time. A little later and we would've missed it. She just finished the program, and it actually helped her make up her mind, she's now set on that major. That whole exchange really sold us. It showed he was paying attention to her specifically instead of handing out generic advice. He also explained how they work with both the student and the parents, and why starting early with an actual plan makes such a difference instead of scrambling junior year. We'd also done some reading on private consultants vs. school counselors, and honestly they complement each other more than they overlap. A school counselor with hundreds of students just can't give the kind of individual attention and long-term planning BEEC does. We signed up and are excited to see how it goes. I've had a wonderful experience working with Stephen, the Education Director. He is incredibly responsive, thoughtful, and truly takes the time to understand each student's individual needs. For my older son, Stephen created a well-paced SAT study plan that was both effective and realistic for a busy junior high school student. The schedule felt manageable while still being rigorous and goal-oriented. For my younger son, Stephen went above and beyond in explaining the ISEE in detail. He took the time to understand my son's learning style and developed a personalized plan that felt tailored and appropriate. I especially appreciated his patience--he carefully answered all of my questions and made sure I felt informed and comfortable with the process. The BEEC experience has been very valuable to my son Christian as he has been preparing for college and developing long term career/life plans. BEEC really helped me study and prepare for taking the ACT. To start off, they helped me choose between taking the ACT and SAT; this was super helpful because the two tests are very similar, and it's hard to know which one to take. I studied with a great test prep tutor who not only helped me prepare for the test, but also taught me valuable study and test-taking skills. I took a lot of practice tests, and after each one BEEC would send me a very detailed breakdown of my score, including what I got wrong and how well I did on specific skills (ex. Statistics and probability questions in the math section). I am very happy with how my score improved, and I know I would not have done as well on the ACT without this test prep course: I started off with a 32 and just officially scored a 35 on the ACT! Michael was my daughter's SAT prep teacher, and he has devoted a lot of time and care to teach her. He also knew my daughter very well in what her weak and good parts were on the SAT and taught her how to do even better. In addition, he also found the best ways to help my daughter and made her feel comfortable. Overall, my daughter improved 460 points more than her initial score. I did the test prep program with BEEC and i've been very impressed. They help you figure out which test (ACT vs SAT) is best for you, and then build a structured plan to help you succeed. I always thought i was going to take the SAT because that's what my parents took, but through BEEC I learned that I'm more suited for the ACT. Their program includes a lot of practice tests and detailed breakdowns of what you need to improve. I've made great progress with the help of my teacher Eric. I've learned test-taking strategies and improved on specific topics that appear on the test. I would highly recommend them to anyone taking the SAT or ACT! read more

BEEC was a wonderful resource for my daughter who is in 8th grade. She was tutored once a week in English and Math virtually. Her tutor was always prompt, thorough, patient and really made sure my daughter was understanding all concepts before moving on. After every session we are sent an email with what content was worked on during the session, how the child did and what was accomplished.
