I was introduced to Brightfox by a friend a few months ago, and we have been very happy with our experience. One of the things I like most is the flexible class system. Many tutoring centers require you to buy a package of classes before you can start, but BrightFox lets you begin with just one class. That gave us a chance to see if it was a good fit for our child without feeling pressured. It also gave me the impression that they are confident in the quality of their program. Even though the classes are 2:1, my child still receives plenty of individual attention. It really feels like one-on-one learning. One of my children had never attended a tutoring center before high school because he preferred studying on his own. At BrightFox, the teachers always welcome questions and explain concepts step by step in a way that matches each student's level. This has helped my child become much more confident in learning. What impressed me the most is that the teachers don't just give the answers. They make sure students understand why the answer is correct and continue explaining until they know the student truly understands. You can tell they genuinely care about each student's learning. After every class, we receive detailed feedback about what was covered, how our child did, and what to work on next. As a parent, I really appreciate being able to stay involved in my child's learning. Before we enrolled, Mr. Alex took the time to understand our child's learning goals and helped us choose the best path. Ms. Heather has also been wonderful. She carefully follows our child's progress and provides support and guidance whenever it is needed. Her communication and care have given us a great deal of confidence. One star. My high school senior spent this past summer at Brightfox doing their SAT prep program. He spent 4 days a week on average and followed their program. He took several practice tests and his scores improved over the summer. However, when he took the Aug SAT last month his score was exactly the same as where it had been before even starting with Brightfox. This program did absolutely nothing for him and was a complete waste of time and money. They did not cover the Desmos calculator which I find to be a huge problem. Clearly their practice tests are not a true representation of the actual SAT. I would not waste your time with this program. It was a huge disappointment. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND Birghtfox Education learning center! My child used this facility for SAT service and we are very happy with the outcome. I solicited few learning centers from Alamo to Dublin and landed with Brightfox for few reasons: 1. The approach is very strategic. Upon assessment of your child ability, they will come up with a REALISTIC plan without pushy 'marketing' tone that forces you to buy blocks of hours. They would ask your child to take the assessment twice to ensure consistency of results and serve as your child's ability/knowledge baseline. Then, they will set up a time with you and your child to review about timeline, targeted score and hours needed to review those areas that need improvement, inclusive lots of practice tests that I found extremely important to build the child confidence and comfort in taking the test. 2. Low ratio: 2:1 and sometimes even 1:1. One hour per Subject. 3. The hourly rate (in block discount) is far more reasonable than others that I inquired. 4. Brightfox Education user portal is very intuitive, easy to use/track and modern. 5. Administrative plus! There's always someone to respond ASAP (most of the time) or reasonable time, especially Ms. Heather, their office manager is SUPERB in providing response, flexibility, etc. Genuine interest in your child's success. 6. Facility is awesome. Clean, wide space, modern in office complex, plenty of parking and best of all, provide a welcoming sense. All in all, if you are looking a solid learning center partner, Brightfox can definitely offer you that as it did for us. read more

​I signed my daughter up for S.A.T. help during her H.S. Junior year. We had a tutor not use the camera at all, the tutor was non existent during the entire session and was quite rude during the session. Another tutor flat out LAUGHED at my daughter when she asked him to explain again, since he was very rushed during the session, as if he had better things to do. Another one had an extremely heavy accent (I believe it was perhaps a Chinese accent? I'm not 100% sure) but it was VERY hard to understand the man. In all, we had ONE tutor that was good, and probably only had 2 sessions with him, the entire season. When I complained, I was kindly refunded for the bugged out sessions with the random tutors, but the damage was already done and my daughter did NOT want to go through Brightfox for tutoring. She opted to use YouTube Tutors that were more clear, efficient, detailed - very concise. We still had about $300 + dollars left of tutoring and I had called them to get a refund for the SHITTY service & leftover money, to which I was informed they could NOT do it. Seriously?! I mean, really?! My recommendation, GO ELSEWHERE, this place is NOT WORTH the money, not worth your kid's time, not worth the frustration, cos the tutors themselves are there just for the paycheck and could give a rats ass of the outcome. Your child will be better off with a YouTube video from a current or former teacher that actually WANTS to help kids, Brightfox is trash. read more

We've had an outstanding experience with Bright Fox. Both of my kids attended their SAT preparation programs, and the impact has been truly valuable (though we went to Brightfox last min). We really appreciate how they accommodated last min sessions to get through the crazy application process. The instructors at BF are not only highly knowledgeable but also very structured and thoughtful in their approach. They understood how to bring out the best in our kids and made even challenging concepts easier to grasp. In the spring, I heard good things about Brightfox from my friend whose daughter was using their service during her sophomore year. I made note and planned to contact them if needed as my daughter was already going weekly to a local tutor school for English. My daughter's initial plan was to continue using same school (no brainer) for her SAT preparation over the summer. She took a mock test to know her level and was given books to study. She already scored well on Math. She went to the study session about two weeks and realized it was not very efficient way to study as her teacher was not able to explain some of the choices of answer. When she shared the experience with me, I didn't hesitate to contact Brightfox. I texted Alex who replied promptly and gave information how to start: from setup accounts/test all within a day or two. After the test, we setup a meeting, Alex presented a tutor plan for my daughter and made suggestion on her SAT exam timeline based on her test result. We were very impressed by how Alex represented the result with area of improvement my daughter should focus on. We really like information is data driven and his plan sounds achievable. We decided to give it a try in mid-July. Alex estimated the hours of session to finish all area before next mock exam was taken to see any improvement. We were able to know which area needs to work on every test taken. There were also email reminder to suggest next actions like taking the test every two weeks now or took Bluebook test last two weeks of the SAT to get ready. My daughter felt the confidence going into the day of test. Her tutors during the two-month journey have showed different perspective views how to analyze a question. They were patience and most importantly were able to explain how some answers were better choice than others. That is a very good criterial thinking process a student can learn. My daughter was very happy coming out session and at times, I heard her laughing. Booking an online session is easy and 1 to 2 ratio is great. End of each session, we would get feedback of the session by the teacher. We are very pleased with choosing Brightfox and have recommended to some our friends. We have found nothing but good things to say about them. My daughter took 13 sessions within 2 months and her first SAT score was 1530 which we are so proud of. I helped a student schedule a BYU(Brigham Young University) final exam which requires a certified proctor at Brightfox Education. I contacted Brightfox earlier in the year when I was looking around for a proctor in the Tri Valley area. Alex responded promptly to my email and explained how to schedule the test date online. The online scheduling was easy to use. The link is located on the bottom of their website. The student who took the BYU test mentioned the environment inside the center was clean which is a very important factor now with COVID-19 going on. Student was placed in an individual room to take the exam so the student felt safe. Parking was easy. The center is a bit off on Google map. It is located in the same center as See's candies and next to the Rolex store. I highly recommend students going to Brightfox for BYU proctored exams. I forgot to take a photo this time. My son attended SAT prep sessions at Brightfox last summer. He took the SAT in October and we were very happy with the results and with the improvement in his score. I am a high school teacher and I am so impressed with how Brightfox approaches SAT preparation. Unlike some other programs in which all students attend the same classes and complete the same prep work, Brightfox is much more efficient. When students take practice tests at Brightfox, they enter all of their answers into an iPad. This allows Brightfox to collect data on exactly which types of problems the student has mastered and which ones are still a struggle. The tutors then focus their instruction on the areas of struggle. This is exactly the type of data-driven approach that a professional educator would take because it is individualized to each student's learning needs. Given the data-driven approach at Brightfox, my son was able to complete his Brightfox test prep with less than 30 hours of tutoring. This was much less time than he would have spent at some of the "one size fits all" test prep programs. This efficient approach also meant that the cost of our test prep was thousands of dollars less than many of the other test prep programs that I considered. While I do think that some students will require significantly more than 30 hours of tutoring, I think it's likely that Brightfox would still be more affordable and more efficient than alternative programs. My son was very satisfied with his Brightfox experience. He liked his tutors and he loved the fact that Brightfox is a high tech environment with all of the latest technology. Brightfox is such a great program for SAT/ACT prep. From the very first meeting with Alex, I was blown away by how much he invested into this program: from an amazing software he and his team built, which allows to take a diagnostic test and immediately creates a learning plan for each individual student, to the very modern classrooms equipped with Apple computers and iPad pros. The software allows the student to take as many practice tests as they feel necessary either in the classroom or at home. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 situation, my daughter's ACT test got rescheduled and then cancelled completely, but I am sure if she were to take the test, her score would be way higher than the first time she took it during her junior year. There are many SAT prep companies to choose from in the San Ramon Valley. After research and due diligence, we chose Alex and Brightfox over others. Mainly because of their computer based approach: your student takes an online math test and than studies/learns the concepts s/he missed. This is very efficient! The student can take these tests at Brightfox or at home! We used Brightfox for my daughter's SAT WRITING section as she is strong in MATH and reading. She is in 7th grade and taking SAT for John Hopkins talent search program. In the practice test she scored 31/44, so we want some training and we used Brightfox and after four sessions her score went up to 40/44 and final SAT SCORE is 40/44. It is very good guidance and experience with Brightfox We used their software for practice test. The software gives you areas of weakness to work on. Overall we are we happy with the help we received. We recommend Brightfox for anyone taking SAT. When we went to try out SAT prep at Bright Fox, we were impressed with the software that could know where exactly the kid needed help. Since my daughter wasn't interested in the rigorous, daily summer coaching, this type of a focused tutoring was the kind we were looking for. Due to Covid, the SAT exams got cancelled month after month and we were lucky enough to get an exam slot in November.
