My daughter attended Mindcraft throughout almost all of elementary school, and she absolutely loved going there after school. It was the perfect mix of fun and enrichment a really well-balanced experience. Ms. Susan and all the teachers are amazing. Now that my daughter is in middle school, she still talks about and misses her time there. I highly recommend Mindcraft to any family looking for an after-school program. We had a deeply disappointing experience with this daycare. Our family recently moved from Fremont to San Ramon, and we enrolled our two sons, ages 5 and 8, in the summer program before the school year began. Our 8-year-old was experiencing adjustment difficulties following the move and had some incidents involving aggression. After only two weeks, Susan and Art told us that our 5-year-old was "great," but referred to him as "the other one" while saying that our 8-year-old did not belong there. We found this comparison and the way the situation was communicated to be insensitive and unprofessional. We were also told that they were not equipped to support children who act out or do not fit their daycare's approach. Susan stated that they had not experienced this type of behavior from another child in 10 years. Rather than working with us on a transition plan or discussing possible supports, they made it clear that our son could not remain in the program. Our son had been academically successful in Fremont Unified, but he was struggling emotionally with a major move and needed patience, structure, and constructive communication. We understand that every program has limits regarding the behaviors it can safely manage. However, we were very disappointed by the dismissive way our child and family were treated and by the lack of compassion shown during a difficult transition. After only two weeks of enrollment, we now have to find new childcare for both children. Based on our experience, I would urge parents--especially those whose children may need additional behavioral or emotional support--to ask detailed questions about the program's capabilities and approach before enrolling. They conveyed to us that they had limited training, resources, and ability to support children who need additional help, and that their program is better suited only to children who fit within their narrow approach to childcare. read more

Mind Craft Academy is a great place for your kid to get after school activity. Both my kids go to Mind Craft Academy Afterschool and summer camp. my wife enrolled one of our daughters to MindCraft for tutoring and I have to give it 5 stars because my daughter loves the place and I can see she is learning and doing a lot better now plus being socially active with other kids her age. My daughter has been going to their after school program for 3 years now and I couldn't be happier with the efforts the teachers have made in helping her with Math, Mandarin, Spanish as well as other academics. Recently, while we battle learning remotely, I've enrolled my daughter to their virtual Math program (2x a week, 1 hour each time). The teacher is awesome and my daughter is more engaged than usual. Miss Susan, the director of the school is super flexible and helpful. We love this learning center! My son has a wonderful time there and he always wants to get back to the center, even during the COVID-19 time. Luckily, the center offers free classes every week to give kids chances to meet and chat with each other, and learn together online during this difficult time. In the past two years, my son gets help on his academic learning as well as explores new interests in many areas, like aerospace knowledge, world war I & II, chess, public speaking, art, and most important one - outdoor fun. He makes friends from different grades, also with teachers: Mr. Chris, Mr. Armando, Mr. Marty, and some others. We are grateful to know about this place! Since another parent of my son's classmate recommended this center to us 2 years ago, we can always maintain smooth and efficient communication with Ms. Susan. Mrs Susan and her team are amazing. My son has been in mindcraft for over a year and her and her team have done a great job with my son in keeping him focused. He has improved in his grades and truly enjoys going to the center to work with the tutors. Mrs Susan treats all her students like they are her own kids, watches over them and provide snacks. In addition, her and her staff are patient and flexible. The environment is very welcoming and clean. My son has been through other after school programs before and has never enjoyed or excelled until he came here. I've already recommended 4 students and my daughter currently works at the center. My son and I had a great experience with Mind Craft Academy's chess camp this summer. Not only did my son gain confidence in his chess skills and participate (and win a game!) in his first chess tournament, he learned a great life lesson, too! His first day of camp was rough - he felt like he was in over his head and had a hard time understanding what was being taught in the class. Rather than backing out of the camp, he and Susan had a great conversation and my son was willing to try again the next day. Great learning center! The owner Susan is dedicated to the children's learning and works to customize each experience based on each child's particular needs. She also picks students up from school, offers extended hours as late as a 7pm pick-up, and has an excellent summer program. So impressed with the chess class (with Master chess coaches), coding, art and cooking classes (she doesn't charge extra for the materials!), and traditional tutoring for science, english, and math. read more

My nine year old goes to mind craft for the summer program and I am very happy I chose to go with this camp. I know how extremely hard it is to keep this generation occupied, happy and help them learn. Susan at Mind Craft has created that environment. My son is always excited to go to this camp every day. My child has been going to MCA for over two years now and we are really impress and like their after school programs, summer programs, and tutoring services. My child has learning challenges and Susan and team works diligently helping with various school work to excel. My daughter will be going into the 5th grade, and has spent some of her summer weeks at Mind Craft Academy. She was nervous at first, but now I cant get her to leave! I love how they work with her academically, in the mornings....and then in the afternoons, they get creative. She has learned many new things...ranging from playing chess...to making her own sushi (which she brought home and we had for dinner).
