As part of a birthday getaway, my guy and I stayed here overnight. We had a deal where we got a bottle of fizz and breakfast the next morning, which was really nice.
The hotel itself is perched up on a hill, perfect for looking out over the water while enjoying said fizz on the deck around the hotel. The owner of the hotel is really nice and chatty and very helpful in answering any questions we may have had.
Upon check in, the furniture looks a bit sad, so we weren't really sure what to expect. There is a bar there at check in, stocked with plenty of drinks (although the cider wasn't restocked and we only saw one, so we never bought any). We were given our key and away up two floors we went to our room "Frazier". The room, even though not water facing, was still bright and modern. The bed was very wee and not very comfortable, so we didn't have the best nights sleep, but otherwise, the room was fine for sleeping. The bathroom was large, but it was a bit random that the shower was right next to a window with no curtain or shades on it. I didn't bring any shampoos or soaps thinking maybe there would be enough to use while we were there, but was kind of disappointed that there was very little in the way of toiletries. There was a hairdryer, so that kind of made up for it.
After we gave our room a once over, we headed back downstairs to get our bottle of fizz. The owner had it chilled and ready for us, which was nice. We were hoping to buy some snacks to go along, but they don't offer any crisps or nuts or anything. We sat out on the balcony attached to the hotel and enjoyed the afternoon with our fizz.
We went out to explore the island shortly after and came back after dark. The owner was leaving with a younger boy (maybe her son) to take him home. We noticed loads of cars in the parking lot, but heard not a single peep from anyone who may have been in the hotel. Our room, even though a large gap under the door, was pretty soundproof.
The next morning after our showers, we headed down to the dining room. We opened the door to a large lounge equipped with gorgeous furniture, a piano and various musical instruments. Completely made the check in area look even more worn out. I hadn't brought my phone with me, so I was unable to take pictures of the lounge or the dining area which was also very nice.
Breakfast was croissants fresh out of the oven, toast and tea/coffee. There was also a small buffet of fresh fruits, cereals and yogurts. We were also able to order hot foods if we wished, but we were ok with the small breakfast we were offered. It was great and very tasty.
Checkout was seamless and we headed out and on our way in no time.
This hotel is quite far from the town centre, so next time we're on the island, we'd probably opt to stay closer to the centre, but for the price, this place is pretty ok. We wouldn't call it luxury as it states on their billboard but it was nice.
