We were visiting Tarbert for the afternoon and popped in here for a refreshing, pick-me-up pint. There wasn't a great selection of beers however and we ended up with a Tennants (which wasn't as bad as I remember, although I struggled to finish the half pint, so actually maybe it was).
We sat in the comfortable lounge area - there were a few other people in there when we arrived, and it was nearly silent, making for a somewhat awkward arrival. Some tunes came on the TV (hits of the 90s, I was in heaven) and we settled back with our beers. I was quite hungry but food wasn't being served until 6pm, so we snacked on some peanuts instead.
Within about 1/2 an hour the bar was heaving, it seems perhaps there was some kind of Tarbert pub crawl going on and every table was full. With a relaxing, friendly vibe this was a nice stop for a drink although with the limited range of beers, I'd trying visiting other pubs first to see if anyone had anything a bit more interesting. read more
