Our beer tender was incredibly friendly and told us about the history of the brewery and how it was all brewed right in the basement now, which ran the length of the taproom. Our beers were super tasty, albeit as expensive as you expect for craft beer. Just makes you appreciate your single beer more, really. Overall, a great first impression for Hop Forged and definitely a place worth stopping in if you are in Hanford.

However, a 10-minute cooking time doesn't explain a nearly 40-minute total wait for one sandwich, fries, and a drink, particularly when the restaurant wasn't especially busy. What disappointed me most wasn't simply the wait--it was the lack of communication and the interaction when I finally decided to leave. I would have appreciated someone checking in, letting me know there was a delay, or simply acknowledging the unusually long wait. Instead, I felt like I was being given an explanation rather than an apology. I did ask whether I needed to pay, and I was told I could go. There were definitely opportunities here to improve the experience. Delays happen, even when a restaurant doesn't appear busy. But communication makes a huge difference. If my order had been delayed or overlooked, a quick update and a genuine apology would have gone a long way. I ordered Huevos Rancheros which came with beans and country potatoes. My wife ordered a sausage omelette with country potatoes. Both dishes were delicious, seasoned supremely, and the sauce made for the Huevos Rancheros was really superb. Chips and salsa reserved. Also with meal and the salsa was spiced perfectly. Prices were a little higher than I felt than it should be, but there was a lot of quality food on each plate, soooooo.... Table service was so-so with room for improvement. Smiles were skimpy, too.
