Having just moved to the area I wasnt quite sure where to take my car to for a minor adjustment. I saw the commercial on TV and took a chance and stopped by one morning. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The tailgate stopped unlocking this past weekend. I called them this morning, and they said bring it over[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. They fixed it at no charge (a linkage problem) in less than an hour, and I was on my way home, smiles from everybody there, and a big smile on my face driving home. I brought my car here for an estimate and the appraiser was very nice but stated they would need to keep my car for repairs for at least two weeks. I decided not to schedule an appointment right away bc two weeks seemed a bit extensive for a headlight and bumper replacement. I called back to schedule about a month later to see if the time frame would change and this time the person I spoke with stated for me to expect to be without my vehicle for 3-4 weeks and that most repair shops have that turn around time and he would NOT schedule me an appointment if after two weeks I'd be upset if my vehicle was not completed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I scheduled the appointment while still searching for another repair shop, once I sound another shop I called to cancel my appointment with COLES and the woman who answered the phone was snarky bc I decided 3-4weeks was to long of a wait.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She told me"Good Luck" and disconnected the call. A while back, I was minding my own business, parked in the McDonald's drive through lot waiting for some chicken nuggies like a good Baby Yoda and a fellow traveler backed into my right passenger side rear bumper and caved it in. While the driver's father's offer to refer me "to his guy" for the repairs was tempting, I declined in favor of Cole's because I'd used them once prior and found their services to be good. From covid compliance (Sanitizer offered, masks, scheduled visits) to services (arranged for a car rental, worked with insurance company facilitate repair process, ensuring quality to match the bumper paint to the rest of the vehicle and then detail the car by insisting on a extra day for which they also worked out with the rental company loaning me a car for the interim) to the resulting excellent like new repair job, I was satisfied. I was so satisfied with Cole's work that if someone 2020s my parked car over nugs again anytime soon, I would again decline the offer of "a guy" in favor of Coles to fix up my car damage. read more

My brand new vehicle was badly damaged in Dec. of 2022. I used Coles Collision Center @ their Colonie N.Y. location. Their service was excellent. The technicians, the receptionists, the manager all were exceptional. They kept me well informed of the progress and were extremely helpful and considerate during the entire ordeal. If fact, I used them a second time. During a regular service appt. the dealer found some damage to my radiator. I chose Coles for this repair also. Again I received excellent service from their whole team. In this day and age it is rare to find such amazing service and kindness. I highly recommend the Coles Collision Center in Colonie, N.Y. Avoid! i brought my 2013 Honda odyssey in with minor damage on one sliding door and a wheel well. we had been driving it for 5 months waiting for parts. Initial estimate $5600 covered by insurance. After they ripped the car apart they increased the estimate to over $15000- leaving the car totaled and my family out of a car. They had sections of the car pulled apart that were not even close to the damage. Interior front passenger door for a small dent in the rear. Absolutely criminal. Coles is a SCAM. All they said was- that's how it goes sometimes... the car ran great and was meticulously maintained. Low miles. Everything we needed. Thanks for nothing- thought I was getting an easy fix- now I'm looking for a new car. Took them 2 weeks to tell me they destroyed it. read more

Not a good experience. Under the guise of "updates" they would call to give some general information about the repair like "currently metal working", whatever that means, and say they would call back again the next day. Sometimes it was the next day, sometimes the day after that, but the updates never got more specific. This went on for more than 5 days past the date the repairs were due to be complete. Our rental car was no longer covered by our insurance company by this time. The repair was a simple dent in the left rear panel of our van left by a hit and run in a parking lot. Hardly a ten day repair! The repair was OK or they would have gotten 1 star. read more

We went with Cole's when Josh said he would include fixing a small hole in bumper free of charges when he did an insurance job on the same bumper. When we brought it over they all looked like they never heard of what Josh said and told us he was not on the premises. They acted like they would fix it anyway even circling the small damage - we said thank you, but when we picked it up- damaged not fixed- They told us they said we would have to pay an additional $150- which was a lie. I want a place where they stick to what they promise- will never use them again. Don't go there it just mass confusion where you end up getting screwed. read more

worst experience of my life. they had my tesla for an entire month for a small front end repair on passenger side i was strung along for 2 weeks while they gave me bogus excuses like we ordered the wrong part and your insurance company is not returning our calls or emails concerning payment. i called my insurance company claims adjuster and she said payment was already issued to them days ago. the absolute worst part was when i picked my car up. the hood didn't line up there are huge clear coat drips on the edge and they totally looked over a small dent that in the right fender that was part of the damage. they guy joe was horribly rude when i inquired about they issues and yelled at my husband then he turned around and walked back into the building refusing to address these problems. i had to take my car there because they are an authorized tesla repair shop i then took my car to a small repair shop and they laughed at how bad the quality of the work was and now i have to pay to have all of Cole's crappy work fixed. if i were you i would not let these people work on any of your vehicles!! if i could i would give then zero stars!! read more

This was probably the worst experience I've ever had repairing a vehicle. I left the car with them while away on vacation. I returned a week later and the vehicle wasn't ready. They said they had a little more to do but should be done by the end of the week. So I got a rental from them for the few days. At the end of the week the repairs still were not complete. The following week despite multiple phone calls I got no information about the hold up. I was always told the person who could help me wasn't available and would get back to me. Finally at the end of the next week they left a message the car was ready. A total of 4 weeks. I picked up the car and the work was ok. Never cleaned the car. Got a$1000 rental bill. During the time they had my car the shop was open over 200 hours yet when I checked the final invoice they only did 20 hours of work. Totally disappointing. read more

Didn't inform me when additional parts were needed, which the manager admitted should have happened. 5 separate items on the estimate were wrong, including the parts to be replaced, car color, type of repair and how much I owed. The receptionist called at at noon to tell me my car would be done tomorrow, then called back 2 hours later to say it was ready to be picked up...and she had no recollection of this occurring. If I can't trust them to write a semi-accurate estimate, why should I trust them repairing my car? I had to pay an additional $400 upon pickup, surprise! read more

This company was probably my worst choice for my collision repair needs The workmanship at coles on central ave in Albany was terrible and when I returned my truck to them Joe the Manager and Lacy the onsite Geico adjuster apologized and said he never should have released my truck in that condition the rear bumper was loose and misaligned he told me to bring the truck back and he would take care of it I said ok, a few weeks later I brought the truck in for repair that he agreed to fix under his so called guarantee he told me another claim had to be filed with geico and I would have to pay another 500.00 deductible I went ballistic lacy the geico adjuster agreed with him and lied saying I never came back the BEWARE of this LIAR I hope this review helps anyone considering coles auto body central ave Albany BTW I had an Independent body shop confirm Cole's Collision sub standard work read more
