They also kept trying to upsell me on veneers that I didn't need (and weren't covered by insurance) and kept saying braces wouldn't work for me (which my new dentist confirmed would do just fine). I live downtown so I decided to try Downtown Dental Associates and it was a wonderful decision! Dr. Leudeke showed a genuine concern for my well-being and dental health. He was honest with me and answered all of my questions with patience and kindness. I ended up needing dental work, but it was as good of an experience that anyone could possibly have at the dentist. He made sure that I didn't feel any pain and asked me often how I was doing. The staff were friendly and welcoming and made me feel comfortable. The chairs had a massage option that also helped. They also have an incredible view of the arch from their 17th floor suite. Great experience!

From the moment I arrived the front staff was nasty and very short patience. I have been in the back with my mother to confirm her complaints of feeling dismissed and the dentist's attitude felt dismissive and unprofessional. Instead of making my mother feel comfortable, they come across as snobbish and uninterested in our concerns and questions. When I asked questions about her treatment plan, the responses were short and condescending, as if her understanding didn't matter. Many residents in my mother's senior building have the same complaint. This office does not take the time to go over care plans and pricing. The dentures they make there are of poor quality and God forbid that they do not fit correctly, the staff will curse you out for asking for an adjustment. Many of my mom's friends in her apartment that have gone there state that they were in tears and nervous after going there because they felt rushed and unable to communicate their wants and needs. Why do they have to walk around with horse teeth dentures or sore in there mouth from poor fitting dentures because the office staff are pathetic. The office never answers the phone. The answering service has even said that they will not answer the phone and cannot really assist other than to take messages. I feel sorry for anyone with a disability or someone who is unable to advocate for themselves. I have never liked this dental office from the beginning, from her first unprofessional experience with them but because it is close to my mother's apartment and she likes to walk there and have some independence I allowed her to go there. The entire establishment felt more like a junior high school than a professional dental office. I was literally attempting to explain my mother's situation. Instead I was met by a nasty, childish staff member whose reply to me saying if my mother cannot proceed with treatment there, then I can just reschedule with another provider. The office staff stood there giggling while I was having a conversation about how dissatisfied I was with the services. Totally unprofessional and made the environment uncomfortable and unwelcoming. I asked simple questions about my mother's treatment plan because she is elderly and does not comprehend information at times. Because my teeth were not bleeding and the expense was prohibitive I told her I just wanted my teeth cleaned as usual. She said she would not do that she did not want me as a patient and that her dad no longer worked in the office anymore. I asked for a copy of the scanned documents, but they could not provide them. I sat there feeling very frustrated. I explained to the woman that I only had $50 on me at the time, and I paid that amount even though I honestly felt robbed. Now they keep sending me payment reminders for the remaining $100, despite the fact that they never actually worked on me. I truly feel these people are not acting professionally
