From the moment I arrived the front staff was nasty and very short patience. I have been in the back with my mother to confirm her complaints of feeling dismissed and the dentist's attitude felt dismissive and unprofessional. Instead of making my mother feel comfortable, they come across as snobbish and uninterested in our concerns and questions. When I asked questions about her treatment plan, the responses were short and condescending, as if her understanding didn't matter. Many residents in my mother's senior building have the same complaint. This office does not take the time to go over care plans and pricing. The dentures they make there are of poor quality and God forbid that they do not fit correctly, the staff will curse you out for asking for an adjustment. Many of my mom's friends in her apartment that have gone there state that they were in tears and nervous after going there because they felt rushed and unable to communicate their wants and needs. Why do they have to walk around with horse teeth dentures or sore in there mouth from poor fitting dentures because the office staff are pathetic. The office never answers the phone. The answering service has even said that they will not answer the phone and cannot really assist other than to take messages. I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Forest Park Dental, where I was treated by Dr…read more Eric J. Aubert. I trusted this office because it came highly recommended, and as a Black-owned dental practice, I genuinely wanted to support them. Unfortunately, I now feel that the number of patients moving through the office was prioritized over the quality of each patient's care. Dr. Aubert completed my root canal and placed a crown on tooth #19. After the crown later came off, my new dentist examined the tooth and documented a thin layer of old cement, recurrent decay and soft dentin beneath the buildup, excess gutta-percha from the root canal, remnants of temporary filling material, and a cotton pellet still inside the tooth. The affected area reportedly extended beneath the buildup and was approximately seven millimeters deep. My new dentist had to remove the old buildup and decay, rebuild the core of my tooth with fiber-reinforced material, clean the crown, and cement it back into place. The prognosis for the tooth is now described as "guarded to good." I was also uncomfortable that someone who appeared to be a trainee performed part of my molding and crown-placement process, while the dentist mainly came in to examine the work. I cannot speak to the office's internal protocols, but patients should be clearly informed about who is treating them and receive honest explanations throughout every procedure. This experience taught me how difficult it can be to advocate for yourself when you do not understand dental terminology or procedures. Patients trust medical professionals to protect them--not to take advantage of what they do not know. I am sharing my experience because the outcome could have been much worse. I hope it encourages others to ask questions, request their records, and seek a second opinion when something does not feel right. I am incredibly grateful that I found Dental Partners of Creve Coeur. For the first time, a dentist took the time to explain everything clearly, show me what was happening, and correct the problems that were found. That honesty, patience, and transparency have made a life-changing difference for me.
