He couldn't answer basic questions about sizes and had no idea how to even get me into a boot. Any boot. My experience at Mud, Sweat, and Gears was completely different. An experienced skier who is even familiar with offerings at ski lodge in the Pacific Northwest identified not only why I wasn't able to get into most boots, but what features were necessary for me to find a good fit. He set me up with new boots that have adjustable calf section and room for high arches, then customized them with a heal lift and custom insoles. Thank you!!!

To bring you up go speed I had recently purchased a pair of Bauer vapor ice skates and after wearing them a dozen times I still experienced foot pain caused by my flat and collapsed arches. The place I had purchased them couldn't get rid of those "Hot Spots ". So a teammate recommended The owner Greg and he was able to heat and push out these areas of the skate boots. Now from this new custom fit I have total relief from the pain in both skates. Awesome! So now these skates are the best fit skates I ever had. KUDOS

The selection of gear is great for beginners all the way to experts, with cheaper beginner gear as well as more expensive, higher performance expert gear. Their sharpening and waxing services are also great! The City Garage also has the best boot fitting service in the area, all of the employees are extremely knowledgeable about boot fitting and making sure that your boots are comfortable and will perform well. I would highly recommend for this to be the first place you go to in Ellicottville for skiing and winter gear.

There are now groomed trails that can be ridden year-round! How freaking cool is that! The first think you may notice when driving by is the green wood-paneled Cadillac limo. This rad thing is their shop van! These guys load up and hit up bike parks in this thing. This is by far the coolest shop van I've ever seen. The guys at the shop are the nicest humans you'll find. They are all so good at what they do, and won't make you feel like an idiot when you come in. I had the pleasure of camping here for a women's weekend event, and the guys at the shop made sure we had what we needed and let us have our fun. Shop dog Willow is the cutest! If you stop by, make sure you get a sticker of sweet Willow. I'm almost bummed that I don't live here anymore, but now I have an excuse to come visit! While in New York for snowy weekend we decided to rent snowmobiles. The people that we stay with…read morenormally rent from this place. I first have to explain the building. It is my dream man cave with rough-hewn lumber for siding on the inside and smells of 2-cycle engines and gasoline. Complete with the friendliest people you could ever meet. Snowmobile people generally stick together and it seems like everyone in this crew including all of the customers came in and out of this place during the day seem know each other and were really friendly. Now going into this place I want to let you know that renting snowmobiles is not a cheap way to spend your morning. The snowmobiles they have are not 12 year old pieces of junk most of them are current model year and have very few miles on them. The particular sled I was on retails for about $16,000 and I paid around $230 to rent for 4 hours. Not a bad deal if you're only going to snowmobile once or twice a year. This dealership was located in a town of Ellery and the way the trail system works here is that these snowmobile clubs are all volunteer and they maintain the trails which go through private properties. So they have to respect the property owners so the trails are maintained. We had an incident with one of the snowmobiles where we ended up flipping it into a very small body of water. It was completely unintentional however fellow on a snowmobile have to be driving by and knew where we rented the sled from call the owner, helped us get this let out of the water unfortunately the engine was hydrolocked. This stranger than helped us towed the sled a few miles up to the street where the owner, Bryce, met us with the trailer and he wasn't even mad. We helped him load the sled in the trailer and got it back to the shop or he even encouraged us to grab another sled and go out and finish up a rental. But to be honest we're pretty much done at that point. Fortunately the damage was minimal and the shop did not charge us for the damage. These are Stand Up Guys working very hard in a small company and I would encourage you 110% to give them a try.

I've also dealt with Alyssa previously and she was wonderful to deal with. They're the only spot really to get your skis in Buffalo. Their prices are cheaper than online, which is kind of hard to do. Second day revisit for some assistance and he adjusted the calf portion, but still severe calf cramping, accompanied by bruising and feet pain.
