My husband generously gave me a gift certificate for Lace & Day, so I made myself an appointment on their easy-to-use online scheduling system, and then showed up. If you're new to Lace & Day, or thinking of getting someone a gift certificate to use at the store, be aware that one bra alone will probably be in the $100-$150 price range. I already wore a bra brand that Lace & Day carries, Marie Jo, so I wasn't surprised by the prices, but sticker shock is totally understandable. The staff is friendly, and the fitter I worked with was knowledgeable and efficient. I am not that secure about my body, especially when topless in front of a person I only met a few minutes ago, but the awkwardness was minimal. She picked out a good variety of bras for me to try, both in the Marie Jo brand I'm familiar with and in other brands. I felt like she was honest with her opinions, as she would say something if a particular bra didn't seem to suit me as well as some of the other ones I'd put on, and I appreciated that feedback. I had to put in a special order for two bras because the store didn't have on hand the color I wanted in my size. I think I'm a fairly average size, and I think nude is a common color, so I was a little surprised that they weren't in stock, but it wasn't that big of a deal. I was able to take home some of the bras I liked same day, and then got a call two weeks later once the special order arrived, and I picked them up from the store again. My new bras feel great, and even if no one else notices, I think my shirts look better on me when I'm wearing these new bras compared to my old ones. When I'm ready to add more bras to my wardrobe, I'll gladly come back to Lace & Day.

Based on my "guesstimation", one of the owners pulled a single suit off the rack. It took only a few minutes to go down a size and then one size more to find the perfect fit. I tried on one other suit -- more because I felt like I should, not because of any pressure -- and realized instantly that the first one was THE one. I haven't been this excited to buy a new bathing suit in 40+ years. Are they pricey? Yeah, but I'm okay spending more for excellent, individualized attention and quality pieces than to spend less elsewhere and not look and feel the way I want to.

I want to say, top notch customer service here! Very friendly staff, and adequately staffed to keep up with helping all customers. Need help in the fitting room? Just crack your door open and they will help. I loveddddd the bikini I order. It was so beautiful! But once again the top didn't do me justice. One of the girls tried to help me. She had me try hooking the straps and they sell inserts there too. But it just didn't work out. Fortunately, I found another bikini that was just perfect!! In addition to struggling with tops, I needed something to match a sheer pink and yellow 2 piece cover up and I found this beautiful scalloped bikini that was of the best structure. It held my girls just right without exposing much cleavage and was just really adorable and I'm so excited to wear it. The manager or owner (not sure but I know she was in charge) was really nice and helpful as well. I actually stopped here twice in one day and both experiences were wonderful! I'm so happy I found a great bikini for my upcoming vacation. BTW they have tonnsss of swimwear, bras, panties, undergarment accessories, robes, PJs and coverups and a few other things. The prices are on the upside, but I know at least with my bikini I trust its quality was surely worth it. TIP: They are most stocked with swimwear around April/May!

I went in seeking a swimsuit that had the coverage of a bra, so I could feel comfortable on vacation. I wanted a one-piece or tankini swimsuit with an underwire, bra-style band, and padded cups (not just flimsy inserts that provide no support or lift) that would provide nipple coverage. They did not have a single option that fit these requirements. Instead, I was given swimsuits that didn't even have an underwire and/or bra-style band and told I would be "surprised by the level of support they had." The bathing suits provided absolutely no support, which anyone could have guessed.... I wanted a bathing suit top with at least some padded nipple coverage (which feels like common sense for bathing suits and being in and out of the water!!) and the fitter seemed genuinely surprised that I cared about that. Every time I go, I have the same issue. I don't understand why they refuse to stock more than a handful of padded bras or padded swimsuits that provide nipple coverage and don't have countless seams showing through my t-shirt. There's no way that I'm the only customer that wants additional coverage and doesn't want the seams from cupless bras (and my nipples!) showing through my shirt. I'm not even looking for cute prints or colors, just a simple bra or bathing suit in speciality sizing that provides sufficient support and coverage. This feels like something many women would also want, and it's very disappointing that the store seems to refuse to carry any significant stock that fills those criteria. The fitter claimed they didn't have the ability to stock the types of swimsuits I was looking for, but looking around at the displays filled strapless bikinis and non-bra related goods like clothing and bags, it seems like they are choosing to prioritize non-bra items and standard sizes rather than the specialty bra sizes and fuller coverage items that many women in WNY depend on. It feels like every time I leave this store, I leave disappointed because their stock of speciality sizes is so limited in its variety and level of support/coverage. If you're dependent on speciality or non-department store sizing and especially if you have low volume breasts, it's very difficult to recommend this store, even though I wish I could. We need better specialty sizing bra options in Buffalo.

I also learned that they stock prom dresses, but that only ones that meet a certain modesty standard- nothing that the owner wouldn't let her own daughter out of the house wearing. They weren't turtle neck sweaters, either; they were lovely dresses, and I can see how it would be an ideal location for both parent and high-schooler to go shopping. We brought in snacks the night of the party, and were provided water to drink, and after much makeup and hairdos, the eight of us took turns being photographed. The makeup artists were pleasant, professional and encouraging. The photographer- Ashley- was all of those things plus efficient with our time and clearly quite practiced at working with people like myself who are definitely not models. One member of our party was not planning to be photographed and was inspired to change her mind as the night progressed, so we redistributed our time and who was going to pay how much, etc. and she got to participate, too! The lounge was comfortable in every way, and we had places to plug in our phones and play music. We hung our changes of clothing on their hangers and on the racks provided. The doors to the store were locked after the mall closed and we left in a group so it was quite safe and a very fun experience.
