I had TWO appliances go out - a non-smart, "old school", plain jane GE fridge, and a Whirlpool washing machine that we love. The fridge and freezer had suddenly stopped remaining cold enough for safe food storage. Serge had the fridge back up with a new defrost heater element module, and it has been going steady for weeks, now. I suspect we may get another 12 years out of this beast. Remarkably, the ice maker is also working like new, again. I guess when that element is going out, it affects much in the whole unit, with the way they circulate the air in these things. Serge explained this very well to me and I appreciate that transfer of knowledge more than anything else. The washer required a new control board and pump. This is in the garage, and Serge was able to determine that rats may have gotten in at some point, doing their chewing thang, and the wires shorted, blowing the pump, eventually blowing the controller. We have since been fostering some feral cats, and rats have been a rare sight, now. Happy to have it repaired. The entire time, I felt in-the-loop. Everything was explained in perfect detail for my level of understanding. Serge took time to hop on his phone and seek alternatives to offer me choices in paths to take. Honest communication at every step. Poor Vera. No one mentions Vera. VERA ROCKS! She was in a happy mood for every call. She took time to go between Serge and myself, if she was unsure about an answer. She never made anything up when she did not know the answer. I always felt in good hands dealing with Vera. Both of these people are good, honest, hard-working people and I hope you will consider Lucid Appliance Repair the next time you are faced with a failing "loved one", instead of buying deeper into the overly capitalist chain of breaking/buying/breaking/buying. However, we later found out FROM ANOTHER REPAIR COMPANY that there was also ice formed BEHIND a panel that Appliance Rescue Service didn't even check. We later had Appliance Rescue Service come look at a dishwasher problem, and was quoted almost $500 to fix it. OTHER REPAIR COMPANY is going to fix it for $225. So while we initially liked Appliance Rescue Service, we come to find out they are less than thorough in their assessment, and also overpriced. We do NOT recommend them.

I pay a fee to have them come out because they want to do a diagnostic, telling me that the fee will be applied the repair. So they come out, only to tell say they don't carry the part. Wait, what?! That's not quality In addition, there's been no value add, just a waste of time and money. From my perspective, it feels like they're just collecting fees without doing any repairs. If serious about the business, a more prudent approach would be to ask the customer for the make and model # first, to see if you carry the part(s) before charging the customer a trip fee.
