Chocolate ice cream with brownie mix-in
Alicia J.

Cold Stone is still serving up the same yummy mixed-in ice cream treats that my kids grew up with, and it's fun to come back for that nostalgia. My family and I stopped by for our go-to favorites, and they didn't disappoint. Service was excellent, and we enjoyed our ice cream inside that had just enough comfortable seating for several guests.

The ice cream is very creamery and I love it. Also the service is great and I definitely recommend it. There are so many dining options next door it wonderful. I definitely would be going back.

Amber, Alicia and Sarah were very sweet! Amazing staff and patient with the kids who had a hard time deciding what to order.

I am lucky to have experienced their other location on Park Ave first…read more It's my first experience here. I made reservations for their Cakeistry event to celebrate a birthday. This location offers private parking area. It's a little bit bigger. A huge THANK YOU to JR, Manager and his team who helped make this experience magical. We had so much fun while making great memories. We ordered cocktails, patisserie and shared small bites while decorating the cake pieces. They offer coffee options and cocktails. I loved their Expresso Martini. The cake pieces are top quality and delicious. Staff were very attentive and polite. Again, thank you for making this day very special.

Elegant, glossy, and almost too pretty to eat. Almost. Taste & Texture: 4/5 -- This cake is RICH rich. Deep, dark chocolate, decadent layers, and the kind of cake where you take a bite and need a moment of silence afterward. The cake itself? BLISS. Moist, luxurious, chocolatey perfection. My only little "ehhh" was the texture of the glaçage drip. Personally, it wasn't my favorite mouthfeel--but listen, that did NOT stop my fork from continuing its ministry. If you like your chocolate cake dark, decadent, rich, and a little sexy... baby, this is the move. Basically, this isn't "lemme grab a little piece of cake." This is "close the blinds, cancel my plans, and leave me alone with this chocolate decadence." Chocolate Duet Cake: 4/5 Would absolutely commit chocolate sins again.

I'm not entirely sure how it is that I have never reviewed the original Gideon's as I've been going…read morehere for years? Either way, visiting this location really is the hack that you think it is. Since it is in the East End Market, you can simply waltz in with little to no line and order your delicious Gideon's treats. It is important to note that unfortunately they don't offer the cold brew here, however, as they don't have the facilities to make it like they do at Disney Springs. But, the cookies are just as delicious and they do always sell their limited edition cookies here in addition to their classics. It is also worth shopping around the market as well since there are many indulgences here ranging from sushi to cocktails to fun trinkets. It is best to visit at an off time though as parking can be a challenge.

I didn't realize that before ordering, so that definitely explains part of why this wasn't for me. Red velvet is usually my birthday cake, so I've tried it from quite a few places over the years. I personally prefer a softer, fluffy cake with a noticeable cocoa flavor and a tangy cream cheese frosting. Gideon's version was very different from that. The color was much more intensely red than I personally like, and I felt like I could taste the coloring. The texture of my slice also felt more wet/dense than moist and fluffy. There was plenty of frosting, but the cream cheese flavor was much more subtle than I prefer. I know this cake has a lot of fans, so I think this really comes down to style and personal preference. If you prefer a more traditional cocoa-forward red velvet with tangy cream cheese frosting, just know that this one is quite different.
