a hand holding a cup of ice cream
Jen C.

Got a cup of Oreo Overload and a cup of Birthday Cake Remix. The ice cream was on the verge of melting as soon as served. One appeared to have been mixed incorrectly as it was full of ice crystals which made for an unpleasant texture. The other had so many toppings that the base ice cream was completely masked. Overall disappointing ice cream. The service was good, the workers were definitely hustling and for that I'll give 3 stars.

Melted ice cream sent to me
Darby H.

I ordered from Bite Squad and had a terrible experience. They were "preparing" my ice cream for 50 minutes. The estimated time kept changing to later and later. When I finally received the two ice cream bowls I ordered, one was melted and completely liquid and warm. The other looked like it had just been made. The melted one was so gross and I was so disappointed, especially after having waited so long. Not to mention they don't wear gloves. Ever.

Gotta have it raspberry cheesecake

Regardless of whatever innovative, clever, scrumptious looking ice cream concept pops up in the South Tampa area, I will always, always, always return to Cold Stone Creamery for its aromatic, divine tasting waffle bowls and its decadent, rich Cheesecake flavored ice cream. Ever since I discovered the stone via Maggie Moos and later Marble Slab, Coldstone has always held a special place in my heart. This particular location shares a parking lot with Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Moes, and a few other businesses. Admittedly, parking isn't the best; sometimes I have to circle several times and eventually settle into a spot closer to Burger Monger. But the hassle is well worth it. I stay true to my and my mother's tradition of cheesecake with raspberries (I go light on the raspberries so as to not overwhelm the cheesecake flavor). The Sweet Cream flavor is also a nice substitute for the Cheesecake. Tonight this location was out of waffle bowls but the employees working offered me a waffle cone in a bowl as a substitute. It was a great idea except for the fact that the cone itself was stale. Overall, I will always explore new and out of the way ice cream venues but will continue to return to Coldstone every time my taste buds crave it!

Peanut Butter Playground Ice Cream Cake

After several disappointing experiences I have decided that I am not a fan of Cold Stone Creamery. The prices are outrageous and the ice cream just isn't that good. There are so many ice cream/gelato/frozen yogurt options in Tampa so this is not my normal spot to grab a frozen treat. I made an exception recently and visited Cold Stone for their ice cream cakes. I purchased a Peanut Butter Playground Ice Cream Cake for my husband and was disapointed in the quality. The mini ice cream cake (feeds 6) is $23 and tastes like it has been sitting in the freezer for a couple of weeks. The combination of chocolate ice cream, chocolate cake and chocolate ganache were too sweet and I was disappointed in the lack of peanut butter. I think the cookies and cream or the cookie dough cake would have been a better choice. For the prices and lack of quality I would skip Cold Stone and go elsewhere.

Dirty staff member

Staff is rude and lacks hygiene! Disgusting! It would take me too long to explain what happened when I tried to order ice cream from him. I will never be back and he should be fired. Tonight couldn't be too soon. PS He outright said he tampers with food when he doesn't like a customer like myself

This coldstone's version of "cookie minster"
Mary H.

This half filled "gotta have it" cookie minster with crumbs of cookie..but no actual cookies was so disappointing. I also paid extra for cookie dough which they forgot. I mean I'm not surprised, I couldn't even get the cookies or all of the ice cream I paid for. Do yourself a favor and avoid this coldstone. My husband's ice cream was also substandard but at least it had all the ingredients.

Best ice-cream I've ever had. Not too sweet. So many flavors to choose from and surprisingly they all taste good.

Every year, Vincent and I sit down with Mario to design the cake around whatever he's into that year, and those memories alone are priceless. Mario is incredibly patient, creative, and kind with Vincent, and the cakes are always beyond amazing. Not only are they beautiful, but they are honestly the BEST tasting cakes we've had anywhere. Everything tastes fresh, homemade, and high-quality -- never overly artificial or too sweet. Every single year, Mario delivers perfection, and the cake always becomes the centerpiece of the party. This will be my first time coming out to this location, which is a little harder to get to than the Linebaugh location, but with a little luck and patience in the S. Dale Mabry traffic, I managed to get in. The outside of the building is quite unique and welcoming amongst the other surrounding buildings, triangle-shaped with a few cute cafe chairs outside. I got my order to go, but I did marvel at the adorable inside of the shop with more cafe tables that look homey and inviting. The lady behind the counter was nice and greeted with upon arrival, and was patient as I perused my selection. My favorite cupcake of theirs, the mocha cupcake, wasn't there, so I had to stop and REALLY look at the other choices in front of me, WHICH WERE A LOT and it was hard to really zero in on what I'd like. I noticed the poundcakes behind the case and immediately thought, maybe I'd try those instead of the cupcakes. They're a decent size, and I've never had them before, and the flavors intrigued me. I selected a coconut rum poundcake since it is coconut cake versus plain butter like the others and was feeling like coconut. I added the packaged cookies behind the case as well. I remember how great the cookies were, and though the selection wasn't what I remembered from the last shop, I still found what I'd like. I was not disappointed with either selection. The cookies were mildly sweet and I could really appreciate the almond flavoring in it, soft, buttery, and kinda crisp around the edges but dense in the middle like a very delicious shortbread. The sprinkles added a nice whimsical touch. And man, am I glad I went with something different. The poundcake was quite heavy and big, and for a moment, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to finish it (imagine that!), but NO. The heaviness is from the rum it's soaked in. The cake itself is very soft and buttery, with a delicate taste of rum and coconut. I enjoyed the coconut icing with flaked coconuts on top for an additional touch of sweetness. They do allow my Muffin there in her carriage, so I would definitely have to come back for a cupcake and latte (or of course, the poundcake).

So with the help of Google Maps, I found went on my magical journey there and found the place. On the outside, I see lovely calligraphy and art depicting bread and baked goods, so I know I've found the right place! It was a hot day, so the outside seating was empty. Lovely, considering that I have my sweet baby Muffin with me who accompanies me to all my adventures. The seating is covered with large umbrellas, and there's fake grass on the ground for an added whimsical touch. Bear in mind, dogs are not allowed inside the bakery--including when you go inside to pay. Spoke to the man up front, and he explains that if I'm ever uncomfortable of leaving her, they could come out with handheld card reader and take my order that way. Good to know, but I could see Muffin through the window, and I wasn't going to be long, so I parked her outside and got my order, which they brought right out to me. The one thing I zeroed in on was the Nutellla croissant. I love Nutella. I love croissants. I really love Chef and the Baker croissants, so this was the PERFECT choice. I paired it with a hazelnut latte--hot, of course because I'm crazy in this Florida heat which was at 90 degrees, but I insist on it being hot--and I thought this was a perfect pairing. My order was brought out promptly. The croissant was a perfect size, large, but not overwhelming, sprinkled with powdered sugar and a little bit of Nutella peeking out of edges hinting to me what's inside. I take one bite, and this thing is LOADED. They did not skimp on the Nutella whatsoever, and every bite had a good amount to remind me that it's there. The hot hazelnut latte was the perfect finish for my treat, smooth, bold, with just the right amount of hazelnut flavor. Next time I come back, I'll make sure its not so hot, but part of me thought I should have gotten the BTS UBE Iced Latte, which sounded DELICIOUS and probably would've helped me out with the heat. Oh well. Lesson learned, and I guess I'll just have to come back.

High quality, elevated booked goods. Cinnamon rolls on Sunday to die for. An elegant setting. Why not five stars-- the service. Sadly since we started going the quality and kindness of the service has notable deteriorated to the point I would call it rude. Perhaps a victim of their own success, the servers seem not to care whether they provide a good experience or not (spoiler --they don't). It would a stretch to call them kind. The gentleman with the beard is particularly disrespectful acting like he is doing you a favor serving you when it suits him. Have seen many a great place in Tampa fail because they don't get the service right. Hope this is not another casualty.

The inside is a decent size with tables, cute decor and lots of plants. When I first walked in, I was taken back by how beautiful the pastry display cases were!! I had the hardest time choosing which pastry to get because they all looked like works of art!! Super friendly staff, great service but now to get to the goods: the coffee and pasties. This is a true authentic French bakery, no doubt in my mind. The iced salted caramel latte is the best I have EVER had. I could taste every flavor and it blended with the coffee perfectly. The ham and cheese croissant was so flakey, the perfect ham ratio and just all around fantastic. The pastry I got had raspberry jam and white chocolate ganache (I don't remember the name of it) and it was seriously the best pastry I've ever had. Most pastries can be too sweet, but this was just right. The jam tasted fresh and homemade (probably is!) and the white chocolate ganache gave it just a touch of sweetness. It is a little pricey so be warned: $48 for two coffees and two pastries. Definitely worth a splurge!!

The space is quaint, modern but inviting. The pastries are truly the star of the show. I stopped in around 4 PM and parking was easy to find. The service was also excellent. The person behind the counter was very welcoming and even helped recommend pastries based on our palate preferences, which made the experience feel more personal and thoughtful. What I ordered: two pastries, the strawberry Japanese cheesecake and the goat cheese carrot cake. The strawberry Japanese cheesecake ($15) was a perfect balance of fruity freshness and caramelized richness with a creamy finish. It was not overly sweet and the fruit and cream notes really stood out in every bite. The goat cheese carrot cake ($16) was my favorite. I would go back just for this. It was moist, rich, and had a tangy goat cheese filling that created a very creamy, complex flavor profile. So delicious. The prices are on the steeper side but I love a baker who knows their worth. Totally worth it for the quality.
