Ah, Cold Stone!!! A favorite of mine from back in the day as a college kid, introducing me to the wonderful world of wacky ice cream combos that you customize and pick yourself! Nice to know old favorites are just as good as they were back in the day! I like this location because it's easy to get to. The girls were friendly upon my arrival and were okay with me bringing my dog with me in her stroller. It's nice and clean inside with pictures of their specials. I've always loved coffee ice cream, and even with an endless array of toppings, I can't help but get my usual coffee with a few mixins'. Cold Stone's has a list of its own creations just in case you're too overwhelmed with all the choices, but I thought I went with a good one with coffee lovers. Coffee ice cream, almonds, heath bar pieces. It's supposed to have a caramel, but they forgot, but I ended up liking it without it anyway. I think I'll just order it like that from here on out tbh. Got a cup of Oreo Overload and a cup of Birthday Cake Remix. The ice cream was on the verge of melting as soon as served. One appeared to have been mixed incorrectly as it was full of ice crystals which made for an unpleasant texture. The other had so many toppings that the base ice cream was completely masked. Overall disappointing ice cream. The service was good, the workers were definitely hustling and for that I'll give 3 stars. read more

I ordered from Bite Squad and had a terrible experience. They were "preparing" my ice cream for 50 minutes. The estimated time kept changing to later and later. When I finally received the two ice cream bowls I ordered, one was melted and completely liquid and warm. The other looked like it had just been made. Regardless of whatever innovative, clever, scrumptious looking ice cream concept pops up in the South Tampa area, I will always, always, always return to Cold Stone Creamery for its aromatic, divine tasting waffle bowls and its decadent, rich Cheesecake flavored ice cream. Ever since I discovered the stone via Maggie Moos and later Marble Slab, Coldstone has always held a special place in my heart. This particular location shares a parking lot with Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Moes, and a few other businesses. Admittedly, parking isn't the best; sometimes I have to circle several times and eventually settle into a spot closer to Burger Monger. But the hassle is well worth it. I stay true to my and my mother's tradition of cheesecake with raspberries (I go light on the raspberries so as to not overwhelm the cheesecake flavor). The Sweet Cream flavor is also a nice substitute for the Cheesecake. Tonight this location was out of waffle bowls but the employees working offered me a waffle cone in a bowl as a substitute. It was a great idea except for the fact that the cone itself was stale. Overall, I will always explore new and out of the way ice cream venues but will continue to return to Coldstone every time my taste buds crave it! read more

Decided to change up from the Yogurtology and go for the real butter-cream alternative. Smoother, creamier and oh so decadent. There are just over 15 flavors and a few less topping selections than the yogurt shop alternative but I think the final product is worth it if you're an traditional ice cream fanatic. Cup prices start at $4.25 which comes with one topping with each topping being an additional $.79. They also feature shakes, smoothies, and custom cakes. The staff at this location were friendly and made the experience very enjoyable. Great stop for an afternoon treat. read more

No, no and more no! Cold Stone is my jam. In this case, they've got to do better. I got the founder's favourite and No favourite was found. They are usually on point. But seeing the line getting long increased the speed to get them in and out. Thus some ingredients were left out! After several disappointing experiences I have decided that I am not a fan of Cold Stone Creamery. The prices are outrageous and the ice cream just isn't that good. There are so many ice cream/gelato/frozen yogurt options in Tampa so this is not my normal spot to grab a frozen treat. I made an exception recently and visited Cold Stone for their ice cream cakes. I purchased a Peanut Butter Playground Ice Cream Cake for my husband and was disapointed in the quality. The mini ice cream cake (feeds 6) is $23 and tastes like it has been sitting in the freezer for a couple of weeks. The combination of chocolate ice cream, chocolate cake and chocolate ganache were too sweet and I was disappointed in the lack of peanut butter. I think the cookies and cream or the cookie dough cake would have been a better choice. For the prices and lack of quality I would skip Cold Stone and go elsewhere. read more

So, I like ice cream and we like this shop a lot. I'm not here often, but a couple times a year... Not too many other spots that I like to go to just for ice cream (milkshakes are one place, frozen yogurt another place...). They have some very interesting flavors and combinations. I don't like that they don't do the punch cards anymore (but they will honor the old ones - IF ONLY I COULD FIND MY OLD CARD!!!) I don't like that they don't sing anymore when you give them a tip. Last visit, I had this oreo filling flavored ice cream, with oreos and fudge, Like It size. OMG The ice cream flavor was too much, I wish they offered a junior size. This is as standard as this tasty ice cream chain gets. Some flavors are rotating, but they always have the standards. The Mix ins allows you to get creative with your flavors. The staff is friendly and chill. There have been only a couple of things that weren't outstanding. One is how slow the credit card machine is. I know it's a weird thing, but when your ice cream is melting, time is of the essence. The other thing is that they were slow in changing the promo flavors and signage. I go to the Cold Stone on Fowler all of the time due to close proximity to work and it's always great but this location leaves a lot to be desired. The ice cream was melted and we got a large size and it was underfunded but we were still charged the $7 for the full cup. The only reason why it gets 3 stars instead of 2 is because the flavor of the ice cream is so freaking good. I always get Mud Pie Mojo which is coffee ice cream with peanut butter and chocolate and delicious. Would still go to cold stone however I do not recommend this location because it is not up to par with what I expect for such an expensive ice cream. read more

Shake is good service terrible. A woman who worked for Postmates behind me was rung up ahead of me because the manager decided she was more important. The lady with my bleached purple hair helped me I order mines in a waffle cup she mixed in what I wanted then threw my ice cream in the air and it landed in my cup but not before touching the roof she asked if I wanted her to re make which she did. Once again she threw it in the air and it touched the roof again this time I didn't see it happen ( I was paying) but the people I was with did and the lady behind us did also so I asked her it if touched and she said no. My icecream container (which was open and had no lid on it) fell over on the counter when she was handing it to me and then she looked at me like I should still just pick it up and eat it - but I hadn't even touched the container yet so I asked her for a new one and she kindly and quickly obliged. DO NOT GO HERE. Let me give you a little taste of Cold Stone Creamery on Neptune. Before today it had been at least 3 years since I had set foot in this store. Today I was reminded why. I walked in and ordered a "Love It" (medium) size mix-in of Sweet Cream and Oreo cookies. I asked the employee to put "extra Oreos" in mine, which he charged me for (6 dollars). When he gave me the cup I noticed it did not have a lot of Oreos but I thought, well, maybe they are mixed in inside the scoop. I was wrong. This was a lot of ice cream in a Love It size cup, and yet there were maybe 3 Oreo cookies mixed in. So I went back inside the store and complained to the employee. He promptly told me that in order to add more Oreos (a maximum of 2, according to him) he would have to charge me 1 dollar. So I guess they are expecting people to pay 7 dollars for a mixed-in dessert that really should cost the standard mix-in price (about 5 dollars). This is outrageous. If they are so hard-up that they feel the need to charge customers a dollar for 2 extra measly Oreo cookies, they must be in really bad financial shape. And of course, what they have now done is anger a customer who would have maybe started coming back to the store. Now I never plan to return. Not in 3 years. Not ever. Which will make their financial situation even worse. Nice job! read more

I go out for ice cream maybe three times a year...so I don't mind the prices here as much. Lately I've been trying the signature items, and have now had each of the ones with a cake batter base.
