Fun flavors with quirky names, everything tasted fresh and homemade, and served by the friendliest young man behind the counter. To the owner : You should know whoever the guy behind the counter was on Friday night (I forgot to get his name) deserves a raise. A small crowd was there when we came in and he handled everything like a rock star! Fast, friendly, knowledgeable, he's great! And the ice cream itself? Just as amazing! I got a freshly made waffle cone stuffed with peanut butter ice cream and a "jelly" drizzle over the top, while the lovely Spensyr had a 'Breakfast Sundae' that was an eclectic mix of flavors that combined perfectly ! The place is a little small, but I haven't had a big issue getting seating when I'm there. Their flavors are really delicious and super unique. Ever had syrup on your ice cream? No? Well you can here, and it's suuuuper good! Euro trash, Matt's Fatty Rolls, and the 813 are probably the best flavors they offer to the non-lactose free community. However, they do lack multiple vegan/dairy free options. I try to stay away from dairy as much as I can, but sometimes having to eat the coconut/vanilla flavor wears on me and I just want a different option. When they have the coffee and Oreos, I get excited because it's a great dairy free alternative! Also, the seasonal Christmas dairy free option IS SO GOOD. My favorite ice cream they make for sure. On my daughter's birthday, we went for ice t cream after dinner. Revolution was next to one of my favorite sandwich shops, so thought we would give it a try. Folks behind the counter were quite nice, didn't rush us, and helpful. Atmosphere was quirky, which i like. Interesting flavors with fun names. But i am an ice cream snob. If you are quirky and have fun names, you set expectations high. The ice cream was just ok. I expected flavors that stood out, they were just average. The texture of the ice cream seemed like it was half melted, which i am not a fan of. Prices were very reasonable. So price point, service, and atmosphere are very good. Visited this shop because it was so close to zoo Tampa. Area around location is a little sketchy but the strip of shops it is in looked nice with black and white signs that matched. Inside isn't much to write home about, only a few places to sit. Flavors are nice and unique and waffle cones made fresh. 1 small scoop is 4.75 and it is a very small portion. Brought my three boys there and they got the banana pudding flavor, Oreo scream, and chocolate shock. The chocolate tasted icy like it was freezer burnt but the Oreo one was creamy. The staff was hustling, there were 2 people working and 8-10 customers and it created a bit of a back up. Probably one of the best, if not THE best ice cream in Tampa, in my opinion. They are located on N.Florida ave , right next to another great place to get biscuits, Hey Giant. As you walk in to the Seminole Heights location, it is a small but cozy feel. With tons of artwork and cool stuff on the walls, booths and chair seating and a funny menu that's handwritten and some with sticky notes featuring all the flavors they carry and some special seasonal concoctions. I usually go for the sampler which I have pictured here. It is six flavors of your choosing in a nice carton that just is aesthetically pleasing for some reason. Idk , maybe it's just me, but I've never been more satisfied looking at ice cream scoops. Plenty of different flavors here to make you happy, all though I recommend getting the drunken brownies. So good with the Chardonnay. Only reason this place isn't five stars to me is the customer service. The last two times I've gone the cashier has been short and really didn't look like she wanted to be there. Also as I walked up she just stared at me and didn't even say hello. Located in a tiny brick plaza with Mekenita Cantina and a few other places, Revolution Ice cream is an independent ice cream shop. When you enter , you'll notice some colorful and random furniture with a central bar and counter where you order from. The two employees were nice and informed me that you can get regular ice cream, or have it as a sundae, or drizzles(stuff added to ice cream) One scoop is $4 and two is $8 for regular ice cream. I decided to get 1 scoop of eurotrash and one of drunken brownies. The eurotrash is supposed to be nutella and biscoff cookie and the DB is supposed to taste like brownies and chardonnay. I was surprised they didnt ask for ID when ordering DB. That should have been my first clue. Both ice creams were creamy. I can't see say it was extraordinarily creamy since I'm not an ice cream connoisseur. Both REALLY did not taste much like what their descriptions stated. The DB had no wine flavor and was only mildly chocolatey. The eurotrash had some cookie crumbs on top as a garnish but the actual ice cream had no cookie chunks. Both were very disappointing. If this was Walmart Great value ice cream , maybe I would not care. This is a specialty ice cream place and a bit expensive for what you get. Even Ice Cream Dreammm was $3.50 /scoop and SOOO much better than this place. It seems to thrive on style over substance and I guess for beatniks/hippies that's fine. Maybe there is a dearth of ice cream stores in Seminole Heights? Who knows? I would rather go to Cold Stone or Ice Cream Dreamm over this place. Also, if you're tall some of the seats feel like they're for little kids. As a 6ft1 guy, I felt like the giant from Jack and the beanstalk. Also, there is a parking lot but it is especially narrow. When reversing out of my space, and leaving , I was scared of touching the the cars on either parking space. I drive a hatchback/small car! Overall: It's nothing special. It's the perfect storm in your mouth. Cold rich chocolate, but an afterburn of fiery habanero. So so good I can't order anything else. The only reason I wouldn't give it a 5 star is because the ice cream consistency is harder than I prefer...but I'm a custard lover, so I like my ice cream creamier and smoother. The only downsides were that they were out of waffle cones (but they had waffle bowls as an option instead). The CBD ice cream was $7 a scoop which even for CBD is pretty steep, and a single scoop of their other flavors in a styrofoam cup is $5. They're generous scoops of ice cream but $12 for two scoops of ice cream is ridiculous anywhere.
