I try not to be so critical on the cold stones because I absolutely love it but the quality of this cold stones and Rapid City has definitely downgraded, I keep giving it chances but tonight I got an ice cream that was so gewy, slimy, and weird consistency like slime I never experience ice cream like that from them ever, I had to just throw it away. I hope they bring back some of the good flavors as well, bring back the good quality. Anytime I go to a cold Stone out of town and never disappoints. We arrived at Cold Stone to see a sign that read one group allowed at a time inside the store due to COVID. We waited outside for a few minutes before a blond woman said "come on in, we don't care". I said "I care". We still waited outside until the other group left. Then she allowed two other groups inside while we were getting our order. Very warm and welcoming staff/owner. Great location. Very clean. The ice cream was delicious and loved all the options.

Got my usual coffee ice cream with chocolate chips, sprinkles, and coconut and delicious as always. Ice cream was just a tab bit runny, my only complaint. Employees were very friendly and helpful! Cold stone is always my ice cream place, so glad there was on nearby! read more

Growing up, I was taught to never waste food and I wouldn't be allowed to leave the table without finishing my plate. It became a habit as I grew older and I would strongly hate and avoid wasting food. However, with this place, I did not hesitate to toss the icecream. It was extremely sweet. We purchased cone bowls to eat with the scoop, but the employees didn't care about it fitting the cup for convenience or not--they gave us a cone they should've tossed. Not sure if I got a bad batch of icecream, it was like they dumped in a bucket of sugar and called it a day. Definitely not coming back though. read more

Cold Stone best recognize the model manager here. This guy flips ice cream into cups, sings when you tip him, and his store is squeaky clean. I've been to many a Cold Stone, this is my favorite. Heck I didn't even know employees were supposed to sing when you tip them. Had no clue until I came to this one. My kid loves coming here. We will be back. read more

The ice cream is delicious, but the poor attitudes of the workers speaks volumes. The last 3 times I have been to this Cold Stone, the workers have rolled their eyes at customers, argued with each other in front of customers, and seem extremely unhappy to be there. It made me uncomfortable. In addition, the workers were mumbling (not singing) when the customer in front of me tipped them. The morale there is obviously very low. read more

Took the nieces and nephews in last night for ice cream as this is their favorite place and they love that the people working behind the counter talk to them and ask them what they want and not just ask the adults. Awesome place the kids love it here. We will be repeat customers. Great place to cool off on a hot day. Keep up the good work read more

The ice cream in general here is amazing but I ordered a cake to be made and gave three days notice in advance, went to go pick it up at the scheduled time and it wasn't ready at all. Rather than just tell me that the guy said it was almost ready and ran in the back and prepared it for like 25 minutes while he threw something together, some of the aspects we ordered were there but barely, it looked terrible when we got it and had been worked so much by the time we got home like 15 minutes away it was half melted. Don't waste your money here. You'd think if I'm spending $10 on a gallon of ice cream, they could put more than two whole oreos in it. Or at the very least break up the oreos and mix them throughout, but no. Apparently that's asking for too much. read more

I have a love/hate relationship with this particular Coldstone. We go here because it's the only thing like it in town, but sometimes the service isn't the best. For instance, my daughter and I both ordered the same ice cream in waffle cones and we were given our ice cream in cups. The girl getting the ice cream asked if we wanted cones and we said yes and she acknowledged that she heard us so I'm not sure what happened. Also, the employees seem to not want to be there. I mean, be grateful you have a job, especially if you want a tip. There is one gentleman that is there occasionally and he seems to really enjoy it; I suspect he's the owner. So, while we will continue to go here when we have the craving, if there was another option, we'd probably go elsewhere. read more

Cold Stone and Armidillo's have the best ice cream in Rapid City. I would say Cold Stone is more expensive than Armidillo's, but that's just my opinion. Cold Stone is great for a treat and watching them prepare the ice cream on the cold stone, hence the name, is fun to watch as well. read more

My son is a student at SDSM&T and decided to spend the summer in Rapid City. With his birthday last week, I decided to order a cake for him to pick up from Cold Stone. I ordered it online on Sunday 6/11 (well within their 24-hour timeframe) for pickup on Tuesday 6/13 at noon. I called the store on Monday to confirm the order and pay for the order with my CC which was promptly charged. My son went in on Tuesday after 12 noon, the girl who waited on him couldn't find the order and my son had to show her a copy of the email. She told him it was still in process. He waited for a while and when the cake wasn't ready he told her to call him when it was ready. Four hours later when he hadn't received a call, I called the store myself. They guy I talked to didn't know about the order but said he would make the cake and have it ready in 20 minutes. So, six hours after it was supposed to be ready my son was able to pick up his cake. My son said the cake tasted great but sent us a picture. The decorative writing looks like it was done by a kid not a professional. I wish I could post a picture so you can see how bad it looked. If you can charge me on time you better have the goods ready on time. read more
