As a chocoholic I often find places like these don't measure up but this one really did. They had a great selection of truffles and other chocolates, along with fudge, coffee and unique gifts (we would have taken a Mt Rushmore chocolate home as a gift to our dog sitter but I didn't know if we could keep the chocolate from melting on the rest of our trip. I really want to give this a higher rating, but I can't. Pro's: 1. If you're tourist, its proximity to the motels on Mt. Rushmore road is handy as you'll drive right by it if you're going to Mt. Rushmore. 2. If you're a total chocolate addict and MUST have some chocolate, it's quick and easy here. 3. The staff are very nice. 4. They do have very, very cute gifts. But, as a chocolate snob, I don't taste the best ingredients in their truffles. It tastes like there's some sort of emulsifier/hardner in their chocolate, paraffin? Artificial ingredients or stabilizers, preservatives? Not the best brand of chocolate to begin with, slightly too hard for the true consistency a Truffle should be. If you're wanting a quick treat, or a cute gift for someone, this is the place to go to, but if you're a serious chocolate lover or Truffle snob, it's worth the 45 minute drive north to Deadwood and go to Chubby Chipmonk instead. They might have fabulous caramels, or brittle, or other goodies, but not the Truffles. read more

Went through the coffee drive thru 9/5 at 7:12am and was glad I did. I ordered a latte that was extremely good. Also receive a little cup of chocolate covered espresso beans and M&M mix. Such a sweet surprise. I would highly recommend. read more

I was recommended to go here by a friend, and while I was in the drive thru, I heard an employee be completely berated and then fired. I won't go into detail about what was said, however it was quite awful and I feel bad for their former, and current employees. I felt this was very unprofessional and I was completely disgusted. If their own employees are treated this poorly, how do they handle dissatisfied customers? read more

Delicious truffles in wonderful, unique flavors- $1.50 a piece, but really worth it. The staff is friendly, there are all kinds of other chocolates and gift ideas there, and it's attached to a gelato store. Worth seeing. read more

Both milk and dark chocolates were great. Try the lemon chiffon truffle -- it was delicious and not something we would normally get.
