    Candy! Soda! Ice cream!
    Kristina H.

I'm rating it three stars because we stopped for the ice cream and drinks, but it was just specialty sodas lining the wall. I was hoping for fountain drinks too and some sweet tea to go. Also, I was hoping there would be at least one dairy free option for ice cream but none. The candy was cool! There's so much to choose from; however, I didn't even see M&ms and those are advertised on the outside of the building! I love M&ms so I was hoping for something new. Just a few specific items we thought this candy store would definitely have, but they didn't. The overall location is cool to browse though.

A tourist trap for sure but a great place to grab something sweet to satisfy your cravings. There is a lot of choices to be found here although I was a little bummed by the lack of some older nostalgic flavors (where my Chik-O-Sticks at???). We tried one of their caramel apples and some flavored popcorn. The caramel apple was well priced at $5.99 for the size, flavor, and amount of caramel and topping on it. The caramel was extra chewy and had a good flavor. If we go back, I would focus on buying something from the fresh, house made confectionary case and not so much on the pre-packaged candy. Prices on the fresh candies were way better than the packaged, marketed stuff and let's be honest here, nothing beats fresh, homemade caramel!

Found this along the highway heading back from Mount Rushmore. If you like candy you love this place. Any candy you can think of they have. They even have a "nostalgic" candy section. Tons of taffy flavors and tons of bottled drink flavors. Santa and the Grinch were there to take pictures with kids because it was December. Service was fabulous! Fun slinkies having from the ceiling and swirling lights as you walk in. It's like a party! Spent about 30 mins inside. Have fun!

It was a fun stop. There are so many candy options. There is something for everyone. If you're feeling adventurous, try their chocolate covered pickle and the chocolate covered chili. I personally love the chili, not so much the pickel. I also picked up some hard candy and coffee.

Candy, candy and more candy!! Definitely a must stop if you're driving by. I heard they are not fully stock all the time but I took my chance and they looked stocked to me. Got lots of salt water taffy and a few other goodies to take home.

This was one of the most impressive shopping establishments I have ever been to! The entire experience is sure to leave to grinning from ear to ear. I originally came to Rushmore Candy to ask for a donation for the non profit I represent. When I came back to pick up the basket full of candy they had put together for us, I brought one of my kids. We had a blast walking the store and shopping. It was clean and arranged so well! The prices were affordable and easy to figure out for the candy sold by weight. We will definitely be back!!!

If you need your candy fix, this is the place to go. There are a couple of reason's why I am giving four stars instead of 5. The first reason is the strobe lights (or whatever they were) that are on the walls that are at the entrance.....it can be very disorienting. The other reason is that when you go straight you are trapped in that area and have to turn around and up and around to get to the upper area. It was very irritating to see something that I might want in that area (and not grab it at the time) and then have to go thru a bunch of steps to get to it when I decided later in my shopping that I wanted it. It would have been so nice if all areas were open to each other instead of having to go around. I really can't describe it better. The walls that were on the upper deck were lined with a bunch of bulk candy, just about anything you could think of. There was also maybe 30 different flavors of popcorn. In the attached shopping area was a bunch of candy that could be called "retro" and a candy counter. We got a caramel apple, and while it was real pretty and had lots of caramel and goodies on it the apple itself was pretty flavorless. We also got some of the bulk candy (no complaints), and we got some strawberry jalapeno jam that I can't wait to try on some crackers along with some cream cheese. It was an interesting way to take a time out from all of the traveling we were doing that day.

I was so excited to be back in the area and see this building turned into a candy store. It's massive with tons to choose from along with many SD souvenirs and local products. They have a confectionary counter with nice truffles, cake pops, and Bob bins but also some crazy unique items such as chocolate covered bacon, pickles, hot peppers. I didn't try any ice cream but what I saw others eating it looked very good and must have been because many people were carrying around ice cream while shopping. The prices were very reasonable considering this is such a high traffic tourist stop.

This place has any candy you can think of along with specialty sodas and wine. My kids had a blast here.
