Specifically, the slice of tiramisu for the birthday boy wasn't available so in a haste, I ordered the full tiramisu in the display case. The tres leches I ordered wasn't in stock and was replaced by vanilla rolls. I read so many positive reviews, I assumed any cake should be good. Sadly, the vanilla roll was inedible. The cake part was dense and dry. It seemed like the type of cake they'd use for tres leches but of course, without the milk which made it taste really bad. The red velvet was equally dry and wasn't made with cream cheese frosting. It was bland and actually tasted like cheap ingredients. The worst part was the $30 tiramisu for birthday boy. It had the same dense and dry sponge cake and was nothing like traditional tiramisu. I was really embarrassed and we couldn't finish it. I don't write these reviews lightly but I was extremely disappointed, will not return, and will not recommend.

We chose the toffee cake with salted caramel icing. The cake was delivered as expected on time and looked like the picture. The cake was a bit difficult to slice but we were deliberate in selecting a cake to feed 64 people and didn't want to pay extra for a 2nd layer cake. The cake tasted very good and was a hit with the birthday party. We got so many compliments on the cake appearance and cake taste. I will definitely consider Aja again for special occasion cakes. From my perspective, everything was set and moving forward. Fast forward to the week of my event, I followed up to confirm pickup--only to be told there was no order because they "never received my reply." I understand that technical issues can happen, but this left me scrambling last minute to find an alternative for an event I had been planning. While I did receive an apology, I was also told it's "unrealistic" to follow up with customers who don't respond. Unfortunately, in situations like this--especially when it involves custom orders and time-sensitive events--some sort of confirmation system or follow-up would go a long way in preventing exactly this kind of issue. Not to mention I only ordered a dozen of cookies and was still not accommodated after showing I did respond well in advance. Overall, this experience was frustrating and stressful. I can't speak to the quality of the cookies, but from a customer service and communication standpoint, this was very disappointing.

The host had organized everything with the staff. The store was kind enough to teach our class after store hours. Thank you staff you rock. They have candy mold, chocolate melts in many colors, cake toppers, an array of cookie cutters. I even bought bulk pretzel sticks. With the clear packaging I could see that the pretzels were in perfect condition none were cracked for the treats that I wanted to make for a Halloween camping event. Because I don't live in this area I made quite the purchase that included the tools to make the cake pops we made in class! The instructor and assistant, Danielle and Vivian were outstanding and patient with our group of ladies. We got to meet Wendy another team member of Pila's and also got to meet the wonder. Great customer service with each of them. I would love to take a look at some of the other classes they offer! I would definitely make the drive. The vibe in this store is awesome, yes I will be back. Oh, and they offer tasty and beautiful candied apples! I forgot to take pics. Trust me they're pretty delicious looking!
