I called Spin Fresh to see if they had a washer and dryer that could accommodate a double sleeping bag and they said yes. Once I got there a staff person helped me pick the right size machine to use for the bag ( a 70 pound capacity) and which dryer setting I should use. I was in an out of there within the hour with a sleeping bag that smelled and looked brand new. The laundromat was sparkling clean throughout and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I took my clothes to Gundersen Cleaners and was extremely disappointed. First, I was blown away by what they charge for their mediocre services -- $20 to dry clean a simple dress. Also, their charges are not consistent. For instance, I took two similar dresses and was charged two different amounts, and there were no additional services (alterations, sewing, etc.) provided for either of them. I'm not sure why there was a difference in the price, and I was provided no explanation for the discrepancy. Second, the woman that works at the front counter of this not-so-clean company (I understand it is a dry cleaners, but you would think with their ridiculous prices they could afford to keep their business a little cleaner) has the personality of a slug. I don't expect to be treated like I'm at a 5-star restaurant when I drop my clothes off, but it would be nice to at least have someone working up front that is friendly and doesn't make you want to run out the front door. Overall, my experience with this business was a negative one, and if you can find another place to take your clothes, I would advise you to do so.
