I went here in February of 2023 to file my taxes and was told since I have New York and Florida W2's I need someone certified in both states to file for me. Understandable. I didn't bring my fourth W2 I was mailed 3 of my documents to my home address. I was told to come back with the fourth one and they would keep my documents for my "convienece". When I returned 3 weeks later in the beginning of march to file with my fourth document, the woman (Samantha) that took my W2s could not find my three W'2 forms. Forms with personal information of mine. I was told they would look for them. The next day I came back and a new rude receptionist with the name of Kimberly told me they supposedly mailed one of my forms back to my address. After I was told they would keep them there "for my convenience"... They don't know which W2 it was nor did I receive it. And still no trace of my 3 W2's. I'm still missing my files a month later. No one has helped me or given me information on what to do. Deadline to file is 4-18 three days from now. I had to go the IRS website and search how to handle this matter. I have til October 16th to file. Which is a huge inconvenience and set back for me. Meanwhile I have to pay penalties and taxes if I need an extension to file because these ignorant people have lost my files!!! Told me to just go print them out... as if I had that option. I was sent three in the mail. The neglagence from this company (branch) has been appalling. Even their head manager couldn't give me help or sympathy. I have every plausible reason to peruse legal action. Having me vulnerable to identity theft and paying out of pocket because of their mistake. This has been by far the hardest place to work with. Although the tax prep fee he would be charging was high, in our opinion, we decided to go with him. We sent a summary and PDF of all relevant docs to him on 2/16/23. On 3/15/23 we reached out to see what the status was. His office responded 2 days later saying our returns would be done on or before the next Fri., 3/24. On 3/25 we emailed, again, stating that Fri had come and gone and we had still not heard anything from his office & if our returns were in fact still not done to simply shred anything they had of ours. Mon, 3/27/23 still no response so we sent a final email stating their silence was confirmation the work was not done and to shred our docs. This was almost SIX weeks after receiving our paperwork. I reached out to our daughter's CPA and had our returns complete and filed within 3 days. The lack of any communication at all on their part is inexcusable and extremely unprofessional. If he can't prepare a return in 6 weeks, he needs to lighten his client base and also needs a course on professional etiquette.
