I came here on a Friday around 11:00AM and it wasn't too busy. The baristas were friendly and took my order. I ordered an Iced Latte. The Iced Latte tasted great! No complains and the drink came out within a couple of minutes. The only complain I have which is why I took off a star is that it's a bit pricey. Almost $6 for an Iced a latte. I love the crew here. If you were only consistent with your hours, it would be so much easier to be a customer. It's like you just asking if anybody feels like working. I've driven by this coffee stand many times and the stars were finally aligned as I was in the area *and* was craving for a coffee drink. Got the white espresso since several Yelpers seem to be a fan of it and, boy, was it frosting-like sweet lol. Reminded me of a Starbucks Frappuccino (is that why people like it?). Not for me, but what I really didn't enjoy is that upon the first few sips there was a lot of grittiness from undissolved sugar. Unpleasant. Also, too much ice (took 1/3 of the cup). As for good things, the coffee taste was smooth (though as an espresso the drink wasn't superbly strong) and the barista was friendly. It's situated right off a busy-ish street in Elk Grove with a small parking lot, making it super accessible and easy to get to. the side closest to the street is super narrow so be wary if your vehicle is bigger than an suv, but there's another drive up opening on the lot side :) I got a small iced caramel macchiato, which included two shots of espresso and whole milk automatically. the espresso has a really rich and quality taste, one of those that is slightly thicker than your typical starbucks and really adds to the flavor profile. Took me long enough to try this place. It's such a cute little drive-thru spot. The menu has all your basic coffee drinks. I went with one of the popular drinks, the iced white mocha. I was surprised at how good it was. It had these sugar crystals that added a pleasant crunch to the drink. The service and staff was good too. I went back and forth leaving this review because I don't like leaving negative reviews but honestly it is kind of ridiculous at this point. Every time with the exception of once, I've come here and the customer service is so so bad. Unfortunately the baristas are just not trained in customer service and I would have to assume it's because the owner just doesn't push it as a company value. To each their own, how someone chooses to run their business is their business however I believe it will result in losing customers, like myself and my husband. I've been here quite a few times and dealt with the poor customer service (like they don't even greet you lol bare minimum, they just mutter out a mumbled "what can we get for you") , because the coffee was good enough. I haven't gone in some time because honestly- the service however my husband and I love the white espressos so I decided it would be a nice Valentine's Day treat, wrong. I got my coffees and they both did not taste good, mine tasted like a cup of milk and my husbands tasted so sweet he couldn't finish it. I can trade off impeccable customer service if the product is amazing, but the coffee was mediocre at best and 14 dollars, for two smalls? I know most coffee shops are overpriced this day but bad service , bad coffee, and overpriced? Sorry, I just can't continue to patronize this business. read more

I really wanted to love this place and gave it more than a few tries. It's extremely inconsistent, in the summer the redbulls always had dirt or ants in them. I gave them the benefit of the doubt due to location. It has since improved in that department but now every time I go they charge different prices for the drinks. I just hope this place can get some consistency and communication between employees. read more

Stop by on a Saturday morning around 10:30 am and it wasn't too busy but there was two cars infront of us. Service was fast. We ordered two drinks. One ice coffee and one Italian cream soda. I got myself the iced white espresso with 2 pumps of hazelnut and substituted it with soy milk. It was delicious, however I don't think I needed the hazelnut. It was pretty sweet! For the Italian cream soda, my bf got guava flavor. He loved it. Not to creamy and the flavor was just perfect. For a hot spring day. Ice coffee was $4.99 and Italian soda was $3.99. Unfortunately, it is going downhill. I've been a loyal customer for years - they know my order. But the last couple of weeks, the schedule is inconsistent (supposed to be open but no one there), or waiting in line for over 25m for coffee because they have one person. 5/5!!!! This is for 9/4 around 11am! I finally got a chance to stop by and I LOVE IT. You know when you look at the color of your iced coffee and you already know it's going to be BOMB or TRAGIC?? Well this was BOMB! I got the iced white espresso large and I'm so happy I didn't do small. This is so good and different from your typical iced white mocha. It's not overly sweet but it's not overly "coffee bitter" either. I can taste the boldness of the coffee but also it's still sweet. It kinda has a nutty macadamia taste too. If you've had an annihilator from dutch bros before it's similar but better!! I believe the guy says it's made w half & half but ofc can be opt out for other choices! Anyways, it's a small family stand on the corner from Elk Grove! Their hours are kinda ehh and that's why it took me so long to try it out + they're closed on sundays but I totally get it given it's a small family owned business. I've been here a couple times now and the coffee was so good that I've been trying to go back to support. However, it is hard to support a local small drive through coffee shop when I drive 20 minutes across town for it to be closed during their "open" hours. Last weekend, they closed at noon. Arrival time 11:30 and it was already closed. This weekend, it opens at 7am, I arrived at 8:30. This was the sign on the window and the place was closed. Tried this coffee spot for the first time this afternoon, so delicious!! We ordered a butter pecan latte and caramel macchiato, both were fantastic. Loved the drinks and had strong coffee flavor. Service was great as well, it look like there was only one person working there, a young man. He was very helpful in giving us recommendations. They take both cash and card. Decent coffee, good service; drive-through only. I meant to try this place out for years. It's cute and slightly shabby, right opposite the Elk Grove Library. I always try an espresso as a test (and it's my main drink). The espresso here was good, not like a bitter Starbucks (SB) or sour Peets. Balanced flavor from good beans. I also ordered a macchiato for S. Way too much milk, but still solid coffee, well-prepared. I will digress here. SB has destroyed the meaning of macchiato. Classic espresso drinks start with espresso (or double), move to macchiato ("marked" with foamed milk), to cappuccino (half coffee half foamed milk), to latte (very milky espresso. The way most shops do it now, there is espresso, very milky coffee by three (or, if you add flat white, four) names, and lots of milky sweet drinks with a touch of burnt espresso that are mostly called macchiato, but aren't. So I can't fault Coffee Spot for their nomenclature because that's what it is now. This next comment is not really a gripe about Coffee Spot. The guy in front of me had a 9-drink order for his office, apparently. Took forever with just two people doing barista and counter work for two lines of cars. I don't begrudge Coffee Spot; they have to make $, and this is part of the nut. But Mr. Office Guy might get a clue and pre-order, or do industrial SB or Peets, or get his employer to spring for an automatic coffee drink and an ice machine because not one of those nine people will finish their drink or appreciate it, and the garbage at his office will be littered with half-drunk and melted "macchiatos" of various flavors in their throwaway plastic cups, day after day. End rant. Go to Coffee Spot every day because it's better than the big chains and deserves your $. You'll know you helped them succeed when they repaint their sign. read more

I was in the area already so instead of going to my usual local shops or Starbucks, I decided to stop by Coffee Spot. I always read good reviews for them before about great service and unique drinks. I like that they have a double drive thru so it's convenient no matter which side you drive in. I pulled right up and had to take a moment to look at the menu since it wasn't posted anywhere to look at prior to being right at the window. She stared at me and I just told her I needed a minute since it was my first time. I didn't see a list of options for their flavor syrups so I asked if they had the salted caramel that I saw on the Yelp page earlier and she answered yes as if I was supposed to know that already. I felt rushed by her even though no one was in line behind me yet so I just picked a salted caramel latte for my fiancé and the raspberry white mocha written on their window as a specialty drink for myself. I asked for caramel on top of the latte, and soy & almond milk for both. The total came out to $10.50 for two small iced drinks! I was scanning the menu to see how it could've come out to that price. She ran my credit card and then gave it back, so I asked for a receipt. Luckily it was itemized so I could see everything broken down. The extra flavor and the milk alternatives added extra but I would still rather pay $10.50 at another small business in Elk Grove or even Starbucks just to get better service and a bigger drink. As for the taste, it was ok. The raspberry mocha was on the sweeter side. There was barely any ice so it wasn't ice cold. I don't want a full cup of ice but I'd at least like my iced coffee drink to be cold... I'm not asking for Dutch Brothers level of enthusiasm but come on, just give a smile and a thank you at least! Or at least offer some popular options as soon as I mentioned it's my first time! Pretty disappointing overall. I'm glad I finally got to try it after all these years but I probably won't be back. I started coming here late summer of 2021 after being in the neighborhood for half a year (so sad on all those missed visits)! First service: There are two girls that usually man the fort and they have been NOTHING BUT SO SWEET! I started getting crazy and coming here a lot and they always remembered me! I don't always want a Dutch bros "HEY GOODMORNIN BRO!!!" right before I have my coffee so their calm and rational personalities are refreshing to me personally. I never have had an issue with them not wearing masks? That sounds like a personal problem to any review writer and shouldn't be taken out on these sweet girls. Lastly COFFEE: I honestly don't have a usual yet so I just ask for a recommendation of what's popular or whatever they feel like making and they are happy to do so! I haven't had a bad coffee yet!! Altogether I will keep coming back whenever I'm working from home. They are so sweet and great service and great coffee is a win win for me. read more

I've been here twice and I'm a fan for life. Just like it takes one thing to give someone a negative impression, it can also just take one thing to win someone over. I went to Coffee Spot for the first time last week, right before they were about to close. Since I hadn't been there before and due to dietary restrictions, I needed some help picking out a drink. Stephanie, the barista, took her time and helped me pick out an iced mocha that was just right for what I was craving and still within my restrictions. I came back today because I've wanted to see if they still had some macarons from Love and Macarons. As soon as I pulled up and Stephanie saw me, she immediately asked me how I liked my iced mocha from last week. I was floored! Not only did she remember me, but also my drink. Since I inquired about macarons last time, she told me that they had some and what flavors they offered. I like that I can take the time to really chat with the baristas here and the whole exchange isn't just a transaction. I can get coffee anywhere, but great customer service is the difference maker. Plus the macarons are seriously delicious! I'll be the first to admit that I don't get the hype over macarons, but after trying the caramel and sea salt, I'm a convert. read more

I kinda have an obsession for coffee. I have my own grinder, which is used almost daily. I have a French press, espresso machine, auto drip and a stove top percolator. With all that said this place kicks my butt. The coffee here is outstanding. The coffee is flavorful and roasted perfectly. I only drink my coffee black. I think it is the only way to truly enjoy a cup of coffee. The big name places have decent enough coffee, but I have never had a bad cup here. They offer a loyalty card which gives you one free drink after buying ten. Please give them a try. It is a very small "hut" and they only take drive up customers. read more

Listen, I've been coming here for a while. Came back in the day when it was Grace Coffee roasters a few times. Came back a month after it became Coffee Spot and I was hooked. My drink of choice is the White Espresso, the staff was/is amazing and the original owner was off the hook nice and very outgoing! Mid last year, the Coffee Spot exchange hands in ownership and is now family ran, and to be honest it took a while before I realized some changes... but I did notice a few new faces. Most of their clients are regulars and OBVIOUSLY creatures of habit that don't like change. ‍ Myself included, but after i got out of my feelings and got to know the rest of the new staff... I'm still happy with Coffee Spot. Yes they are closed on Sundays now, and it took some time to get used to, yes my fave drink's price went up.... but in reality they were undercharging and I couldn't get this drink anywhere else for that price! (I wasn't happy, but I understood after a few visits). The taste is still just as good, so no complaints here! The girls do there best to make sure you are happy, and if you are not... let them know, they will try and make it right! I've seen some pretty nasty and irrelevant reviews on here (personal reviews on someone's faith? Do their beliefs make your coffee taste different?) but with any business that comes under new owners, change is inevitable but not always bad.
