I enjoyed the Blood Orange Bliss, which was delicious--but honestly, I don't think you could order a bad drink here! We also spent some time in the salt room, and I walked out feeling like a brand-new person--relaxed, refreshed, and completely reset. If you haven't been yet, do yourself a favor... GO! Your mind, body, and soul will thank you!

Today, I went to Oasis at the Mill for a delicious Velvet Fog chaga- & kava-infused drink. I also booked a Vibro-Acoustic Therapy session for the first time! I was asked what I was feeling to experience energetically out of the various programs available and I chose "Release". I didn't know what to expect and it turned out to be quite profound and healing on many levels so I want to share my experience. I was taken to a beautiful dark teal room with Tibetan prayer flags overhead...tranquil and inviting. I put on some padded headphones while the program was being initiated, and made myself comfortable on my back on an ergonomically sculpted bed. Resonant music came through the headphones as the bed began to vibrate and undulate, my back and legs receiving a massage-like experience as my entire body felt the resonance of sound healing. My first impression was feeling I was a garden being tilled...old stagnant energy was being lifted and shaken and I felt a renewed energy pouring through me. In time, I connected my experience with the elements, grounding energy of Earth, sinking and flowing as Water, lifting and moving in spirals as Air, and the warmth and blaze of Fire...as these blended into Spirit I began to journey and fell into what felt like a sleep state. I came out of the sleep state as the resonance shifted, and it gently brought me to stillness over several minutes, softening and slowing until the program ended. I felt refreshed and renewed and was already deciding that "Oh, I have to do this on a regular basis!" And, the fact that there are programs to access many energetic states is so exciting! I can say from the bottom of my freshly renewed heart, DO try this new healing opportunity at Oasis at the Mill! It is truly extraordinary!

(4.5 stars) On ambiance alone, Melrose Coffee is a winner…read more It's a spacious shop with a chic, dark aesthetic and lots of comfortable seating. "Coffee lounge" sounds like insufferable marketing buzz, but it would actually fit this place fairly well. It also helps that the baristas here are friendly and the coffee, if not spectacular, is solid. They offer coffees, teas, refreshers, and a small selection of baked goods. While a few of the seasonal drinks looked enticing, I ultimately went with an iced salted caramel toffee crunch latte. It definitely ran sweet - I'll ask them to tone it down for future orders - but it made for a smooth sip and a welcome jolt. While you can practically trip and fall into a decent coffee shop in Winston-Salem, Melrose's look and feel help it stand out.

Advertised that you can rent the space for events. Very simple coffee menu and they have a small ramen bar. The barista greeted us loudly when we walked in which was good because we did not see him until we were halfway into the shop. Super friendly guy. I ordered their Carmel toffee crunch latte and my husband ordered their cold brew. The barista explained it's more like an Americano which was perfect for my husband (if you've read my coffee reviews you know my husband drinks his coffee black). Our drinks were made quickly while we looked around and after we received them we took them to go. Both drinks were very well made. Latte wasn't overly sweet and husband said it was a good Americano. We will return to try some of their other menu items.

Well after all these years I finally made it in to experience the special place called Angelina's…read moreTea shop. Such a cool place and Wade the proprietor was a fountain of knowledge. He was able to answer any question I had about the 200 or so teas the shop stocks and knows exactly where his merchandise is located. If you are looking for a special piece of tea equipment, accessories, china tea sets, scones, honeys or anything related his shop has it or is going to get it! The teas are from Africa, Japan, China, India, Egypt just everywhere tea is grown. They have tea blends and some teas for medicinal uses as well. On one side of the shop is a myriad of books filling the wall and tables to spend some time if you like sipping on a tea and reading or I'm thinking playing cards. I spent more time there then I thought looking at the teas and merchandise while Wade explained and described the teas I was interested in, a fun way to spend the time getting an education about teas and their back story which I find very interesting. I came in for a tea strainer and maybe a tea or 2 but I left with more knowledge about the tea world and found a friendly shop with just about everything you would need to accompany a tea purchase and a place to linger w a cuppa as some say.
