Comfortable spot to get a coffee, pastry, or even some beer or wine situated right in the heart of Old Salem making it very convenient to all of downtown. This spot is like an oasis, especially if you're fortunate enough to be able to sit in the more den like area up front with the large windows. Comfy couches and chairs there that you can easily sink into, if you weren't having coffee, you'd probably be having a nap! I had one of their seasonal spring coffees on my visit, a latte infused with some of their signature lemon Moravian cookie zest. Yum! Was the perfect refreshing pick me up for my day ahead, and I got to do some work from the aforementioned comfy chairs on my phone. Things got loud as some school field trips started to filter through, but I am sure that is a big boost for their business, so I don't mind. Great spot!
This is such a cute little coffee shop tucked away in Old Salem, and parking is very easy right in front. They offer all your coffee favorites along with breakfast sandwiches and baked goods. I ordered a matcha and really enjoyed it. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the space itself is calm and not overly noisy, great for a coffee dates or a relaxing break. One of the best parts is grabbing your drink and walking around Old Salem afterward to take in the history and charm. Overall, a great little spot that's absolutely worth visiting.
This is a nice spot in Old Salem to stop in and get a drink or pastry (or both). Plenty of seating and there is an extensive menu. If you are in town or local and visiting it is a good place to try.
One of my favorite things to do in this world is try a new coffee shop. This time I decided to try Lot 63. I came because I visited a Moravian bakery a few weeks back and heard of this coffee shop. Which they have some of the Moravian sweet treats so check it out when you can. This coffee shop had such a warm aesthetic. It was a gloomy and rainy day so it set the tone perfectly. I loved how they had music going and it was so packed and everyone was so friendly!! Me and my friend walked around to explore and found that they had two levels. There is a downtown area with a more quiet space to work. There is a bar downstairs as well as other table and chairs. We decided to go upstairs because we didn't want anyone to hear us yapping lol. I ordered a Caramel Coldbrew but was not a fan. Thats only because I am also on my trying coffee different ways journey and It was very strong to me. However, afterwards I ordered my go-to which was a Caramel Latte with Sweet Cream Foam, and my coffee was really good. They even had free water available.
Nice little spot on the outskirts of Winston Salem. Very historic location on the street. This place has a downstairs area i wasn't able to see, but next time ill check that out. Nice small wine menu and plenty of desserts.
This was an unfortunate experience. My son and a friend came for a snack. We had high hopes for the $11 soft pretzel and dip, but it was not large. They forgot to bring this order out or even warm it up and I had to ask for it when I was ready to go with the drinks and realized it was never given to us. Then I realized that they didn't put any of the dipping sauces with it. My son pointed out there had been a five or six dollar up charge for those sauces so we had to wait another five or 10 minutes for the sauce. Only one sauce was given when there were supposed to be two. By that time, my son's friend had asked for a brownie from the case for his mom. The kids had to wait 20 minutes to get a brownie and were told that there weren't any. When his mom came by she could see a brownie right there in the case! The server rudely said "I put it right in front of your son's face, but he didn't see it so I put it back." I don't know how this was possible with two teens, standing there, waiting patiently at the counter with nothing coming out. Definitely skip this place. It's beautiful on the inside, but it's very slow customer service taking an hour altogether out of our day. Poor value as well.
This is a cute and spacious coffee shop with some fun signature Moravian drinks. All the staff were super pleasant and there were loads of seating options upstairs, downstairs and outside. Our Moravian spice latte was delicious with hits of gingerbread and other spices and we would definitely get it again.
Lot 63 provides a much-needed spot in Old Salem for those in search of coffee and/or a snack. It's also a great spot to hang out and as a bonus they serve alcoholic beverages as well. I've met friends for coffee here, attended meetings that were held here, and even came to a live podcast taping (Homebrewed Christianity) here. Coffee, beverages and snacks are on point. Today I enjoyed a Moravian Spice latte that tastes like a Moravian Ginger Cookie and is even served with a Moravian Ginger Cookie! I also consumed a Cheddar Rosemary scone that was fresh and flavorful.
Very nice place to visit when Old Winston Salem! This place can be a nice stopover during the local tourism just to take some sweet with a coffee or maybe a glass of wine. Super cozy atmosphere and nice vibe!
This place keeps being great. - kids-sized peppermint cocoas for under $2 - coffee cake - Clue board game on hand
I had a lovely time at lot 63 in Old Salem today. I met a group for coffee and I tried something new, special drink they had called South Poplar. It tasted just like a vanilla Coke, it was very very good.
4 stars for atmosphere, service, Moravian baked goods and coffee. Recommended by my daughter, Lot 63 located in Old Salem immediately welcomed me by the open and bright floor plan. The wood craftsmanship-type tables, chairs, and floors, a couple of comfy sofas, and plenty of windows strongly suggested, "stay and enjoy" with your family and friends. Because I appreciate the Moravian culture, primarily for their amazing baked goods, I looked forward to their selection. I happily noted on the Lot 63 menu that they offered the "Bethlehem Lovefeast", a square of Moravian Sugar Cake (basically flour, butter, and sugar) warmed up and a cup of hot coffee. The employee serving my family was friendly and helpful. Games and books are located on the many shelves at the back of the shop. A bathrooms is located on both the main floor and downstairs. "A place of welcome" envisioned by the founders has been accomplished, in my opinion, in the 3 months Lot 63 has been opened. I look forward to a return visit in the future when I next visit Winston-Salem.
I was visiting the area Sunday and looked up 'best latte near me' and Lot 63 was listed as number 1 and I agree. It's located in charming Old Salem with plenty of street parking nearby. It's beautiful and welcoming inside. Plenty of seating inside and outside. There's even a little room where you can sit away from the crowd. Hannah was awesome! I let her know that I'd never been there and asked for her suggestions on a latte and a snack to hold me over before lunch in a couple of hours. Their menu has a nice variety of selections. I ordered the house special, the Moravian Spice Blend Latte and a hot pretzel w/ a side of beer cheese. It was love at first bite and sip!! The pretzel was wonderful and the beer cheese was amazing!! The spice blend coffee was dreamy. I sat in a little corner with a window overlooking the outdoor seating, it was lovely. There were several other customers there at the same time, some chatting, some working on their laptops and some just sitting and enjoying the comfort of the place. read more
Great looking space with a nice selection of Counter Culture Coffee drinks, a half dozen beers on tap, bakery goods and a little variety of menu items. The bakery case was empty on our lunch visit which was disappointing so we stuck to the lunch menu. We tried a Toasted Ham and Cheese on Sourdough which was simple but good. I liked the soft bread with a great crust, although it's not like sourdough we make at home or grew up with in California. Its flavor is closer to white bread, but a great bread either way. It's toasted in a counter top oven, so no butter on this one. It's light on the ham and a decent amount of cheese, it was pretty tasty. The pretzels were a mystery. We saw photos of small twisted pretzel sticks and also saw single large pretzels. But there were none in the bakery case so we asked. They said they should be ready now, so we were excited for some hot fresh pretzels that just got finished being made. Unfortunately, by ready now they meant thawed out. While it was warmed up in the oven, it was still cold inside, so not a fresh baked or homemade item. It was also two medium sized pretzels served with a spicy mustard and beer cheese. So who knows what you'll get as they seem to change product frequently. We also had a molasses cookie cream sandwich that was pre-packaged that was great. Also had a Kolsch on draft that was good, but not my favorite. Overall, a great addition to Old Salem with a little something for everyone. I'll be back to try that Bratwurst on a pretzel bun with sauerkraut and spicy mustard. read more
I came on a Sunday afternoon to try out Lot 63 for the first time. My husband and I wanted to try a couple food items and he also tried one of their German beers. I won't even attempt to pronounce it but he said he didn't really enjoy it. Oh well, can't win them all! We also ordered the twisted pretzels with beer cheese and mustard and a toasted ham and cheese. Both were yummy although the pretzel was only warm with some cold spots and we could tell was a frozen product. For $12 I feel they really should be baking them there. Pretzel dough is very easy and no special equipment is needed. If I'm mistaken and they are made there and just frozen ahead, they need to make sure they are heated through before serving. The beer cheese and mustard were awesome though and I think they saved the day for us. Toasted ham and cheese was really good although I wish the bread was slightly more toasted. The flavors were great and I loved the taste of the bread. The ham had a nice smoky flavor that went really well with the melted cheddar. I topped my meal off with the last molasses sandwich cookie they had. Yum! The warm flavors of cinnamon and ginger were so good and there wasn't so much cream filling that it overpowered any of those flavors. They have lots of spaces to sit inside and downstairs it was quiet if you want to go there to work or head down to eat out on the patio. I'll definitely be back to try some more of the menu items that looked so delicious. read more

Lot 63 Is a new Food & Drink place in the heart of Old Salem in Winston-Salem. We like to go there on Sundays after church and have coffee, or chai, and read. I've done most of my book study notes there this past couple of months. Good memories! It's one of the few places I go to and get the same thing every time because it's so good! However, today I tried their Cappuccino and it's excellent too! Choices. The space is steeped in history, the architecture is note-worthy! Take a look at my photos for a little glimpse. They serve FosterHobbs Coffee and Chad's Chai Tea. The baked goods are from Wilkerson Moravian Bakery. The fun sprinkles cupcake paired so well with my cappuccino. I've tried several bakery items and enjoyed them all. If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind experience where you can grab a cup of coffee, study, work, read a book, or play one of the board games they have on their shelf, this is the place for you! Added bonus, walk outside to a view of cobblestones streets and take a scenic walk along the historic buildings and beautiful gardens. Rain or shine, it's always delightful. read more

the newly established coffeehouse and taproom in Old Salem, exudes a perfect blend of Moravian heritage and contemporary allure. Crafted by a group of passionate young Moravians, it stands out with a diverse menu featuring Moravian Spice Cookie-infused beverages, locally sourced coffee and tea, and delectable treats. The venue's historic ambiance, adorned with a bar from an old Bethania barn and furniture from Shiloh General Store, encapsulates the charm of yesteryears. The establishment boasts a warm and inviting interior, complemented by pet-friendly outdoor seating and an event space. During my visit, the staff demonstrated excellence, offering a meaningful experience by sharing insightful details about the building's history and their visionary plans for the future. Currently in the soft opening phase from 7 AM to 3 PM, Lot 63 has promising prospects with plans to extend its operational hours in the near future. It's truly a Moravian-inspired gem that seamlessly integrates history and modernity, providing patrons with a delightful and enriching experience. I look forward in visiting in the future with there extended hours. Oh and I can't forget they will have beer in there future! For more information check out their website and instagram page! Cheers! read more

I love this new spot in Old Salem! They have community tables for large groups and little nooks tucked around for those craving something quieter. The whole space is bright and airy. Try the coffee, tea, or wide selection of beer or wine. read more
Nestled in old Salem it's a quaint place to chill, work, meet friends and family or just grab and go. Huge space with plenty of seating at tables, couches and they are working on their outdoor seating. The menu is coffee, tea, beer wine coming soon and sweet treats, Moravian style. They had a great case of goodies, pretzels , hot cross buns, sugar cake, cookies, lemon bars, strawberry granola bars and love buns. All of them looked amazing and fresh. I went with a cappuccino and a love bun as I'd never had one before. The coffee was delicious, strong and they have oat milk! And I got a pretty design on top !! The love bun was nice and soft and warmed up for me, nice and airy inside and slightly spiced with a touch of sweetness. Perfect with coffee. I loved this lightness as I don't always want a heavy pastry . My friend had an oolong tea and a strawberry granola bar. The bar I tried and was good but heavy and sticky! Good taste though. Not too sweet. I like they have sweet and lesser sweet options. The pretzels looked amazing and will be my next time treat! The service was great and the sever behind the counter was super knowledgeable. I also got out of there spending less than $10 which is unheard of in a coffee shop these days. It's nice not to pay $6 for a cup of coffee. Really enjoyed my time catching up with my friend here. The couch by the fireplace was a lovely spot! I was happy it looked like it was steadily busy too. Well done on putting in something where it was much needed ... can't wait for the wine addition ! read more

I am so excited that a new coffee shop opened in Old Salem. They converted a gift shop into a wonderful space. The hours are great if you are an early bird like me. The baristas were really nice. You can also get treats from Winklers's Bakery. I had the drip coffee and a piece of sugar cake. The first coffee was brewed incorrectly so without even asking one of the ladies brought me a new coffee and the sugar cake is always good. I found the perfect little nook to study while I was there. Eventually, they will expand their hours. This is definitely going to be a regular spot for me. read more

New coffee shop alert!! Of course I had to stop by when I heard a new coffee shop was in town. I tried the Lotte 63 latte which is a spiced Moravian latte with the spiced cookie, it was pretty good I wish it was strong in regards of the coffee but it could just be my preference for stronger potent coffee. The area is so spacious with long tables which is great for doing work. The area is great to walk around to explore! Will be back to try other lattes read more
