The Station has always been a cool spot, and I'm glad we have something like it in downtown Mocksville. I was super excited to try the pizza, and it seems like it's been the talk of the town since they opened! I've heard lots of great things and seen photos, and it always looks great. We finally got to try it today. We ordered two pizzas: the Mock Pie (veggie) & War Eagle (buffalo.) I have to admit I was a little disappointed. Buffalo chicken pizza (buffalo anything, really) is always my favorite and this one was lacking in a lot of areas. I didn't taste any spice or buffalo flavor. The chicken wasn't tossed in buffalo. There didn't seem to be any type of base sauce.. maybe there just wasn't enough of it but it seemed very much like cheese bread (super heavy on the cheese) with chicken and onion being the main flavor standouts. If I hadn't known what it was, I'd have never guessed it was a buffalo pizza. The Mock Pie was topped with a generous amount of veggies, which I appreciated. I was hoping for more flavor in the sauce and crust, some more crisp would have been nice too. They are certainly not unpleasant pizzas, but they leave much to be desired.

There's a new pizza sheriff in town folks and it's The Station. New owners and new focus! The Station Pizzaria and Taproom now fills a void for good pizza in Mocksville. Formerly mostly a watering hole, the Station now boasts some of the best pizza in the area. First off, there is one size: BIG. The pies are 18 inches. Toppings are plentiful and they use small pepperoni which adds to the flavor and appearance of their pizza. They do sell by the slice which will be more than enough for most children not of teenage years. The station offers sodas, water, beer and wine and wine slushes. You order at the counter or bar , no table service available. The pizza is EXCELLENT. Ample topping and perfect crust. There are some tables inside and out and they do offer music entertainment on a regular basis. They are closed Tuesday and Wednesday which is cool since most restaurants are closed Monday. NOTE: Order ahead of time is an issue. During peak times a wait time of 1 hour to get a pizza is not unusual right now. They've been open for a week but word is spreading fast. Just a word to the wise. They offer several specialty pizzas as well. Check out their website for specifics. The Station is destined to become of regular stop for our family. Small-town friendliness coupled with quality pizza is a winning combination. Run, don't walk to check this place out.

The Station has new owners and a new pizzeria that is awesome! Lydia and the team have done a great job. The pizza is delicious and the atmosphere is as great as ever. We've already been twice and are looking forward to making it a regular spot!

First of all the service was phenomenal My wife and I split like we normally do and they split it into equal portions on separate dishes and even did it for the salad. My mom had fish and chips and the fish was super juicy and extra crispy on the outside. And everything that everybody got was absolutely delicious. If you come here you have to get the appetizer onion rings they're the biggest onion rings I've ever seen.

The food truck/vendor festival downtown was absolutely packed and the lines were so crazy we decided we'd rather sit down in a restaurant instead. When we walked in, they cleaned off a table and had us seated right away. We ordered the crab pretzel for an appetizer because it sounded unique and interesting. It was so rich, almost difficult to eat, so we won't be doing that again. We ordered our food and I ordered a cocktail. We actually watched the drink sit on the bar, all the ice melting... for at least 20 minutes before it was brought to our table. It was a watered down version of what could have been good. Our food took over an hour to arrive. We walked in around 1:30, and didn't leave until 2:50. The food arrived at 2:40. We only left because I had somewhere to be at 3, not because we were finished eating... my husband's burger and fries were lukewarm at best, as were my fries. My sandwich was only hot because they had forgotten to make it along with my husband's food, and someone called out for them to make one real quick. Which explains why my husband's food was no longer warm, because we watched it sit there while they made my food. I had time to take a couple bites of my sandwich before we had to try and flag down our waitress for the check and to-go boxes because I no longer had time to eat before my event. This was so, so disappointing and we were really surprised that nothing was comped from our bill. Even a check in from the manager would have been nice, just to acknowledge that this was not the norm? If it had been my first time in, I would never be back.

This experience is not what we anticipated. There were several other tables and booths occupied and my wife noticed none of them appeared to have any food on their tables. We perused the menu and placed our orders. My wife chose the grilled chicken salad and I decided on the Cadillac Burger with mac and cheese. As we waited, we watched a family get up and leave. They told the server they would pay for there appetizer and drinks but since they did not receive there entrees, they were not going to pay for them. A short while later, we watched people at two other tables get up and leave as well. My wife asked our server what was going on and we were told they only had one cook. We hadn't waited long but we asked our server about our order and we were assured our order would be out shortly. Our orders were brought to our table not long after that. We did not feel we waited too long. Everything was correct and looked great. As we proceeded eat, they started turning away customers that came in and we heard they decided to close the restaurant for the day. We both really enjoyed our meals. The Cadillac burger was much more than I expected and tasted really good. I ended up taking half home because it was that big. I also thought the mac and cheese was tasty. Our table service was good and we felt taken care of. Although, our personal experience was good, the overall experience was off. We felt sorry for the cook and servers. Based on the entire experience we are giving this review three stars. But the sole cook deserves a 5+ star review because our meals were great considering everything else.
