We ordered the scrambled egg, avo and toast; the shrimp tacos; the ramen bowl, banana and lime breads, coconut dream, blackberry cooler, cappuccino with havenmelk (oat milk). All were good. I wouldn't say the food was "over the top" but it's all about dining in a beautiful space. This place is great. It was packed on a Wednesday at 11am, which was surprising, but luckily that meant we got a table on the third floor sitting on BEAN BAGS. Got a beer, mango lassi and a stuffed croissant. Really pleased and wish we would have had more time for bigger dishes. Loved our experience at Coffee and Coconuts! The interior is very relaxing and vestibule - west coast USA vibes. The food and drinks exceeded our expectations! The drinks with coconut mills and delicious - highly recommend the cold coffee drink! I don't think you could go wrong with any of the meals - however the breakfast sampler platter is the way to go. I really love this place. The decor is perfect and the coffee/cocktails/food is all perfect. It should get five stars, but there's one big problem though. There is NOWHERE to charge your electronics. It would be so beneficial for a place like this to have built in charging ports at every table and even chair like they do at airports. This place gets the most stars only for its amazing interior! Inside it is huge and very different to other Cafés. I would recommend to come here to spend some cozy hours. They serve drinks in a coconut and mostly offer breakfast and brunch. We had the "CT Breakfast" for 13€ which was a lot for the amount you are getting at the end. Wow! This place looks great! There are so many wacky, outlandish details going on in the décor here but it works so well together on the calm, cool backdrop of the white walls and extremely high, open space. Even (maybe especially so) the bathrooms are really cool. As for food and drink, I really enjoyed my vegan tempeh and kim chi sandwich and Cortado. Nothing really wrong there and I'd definitely like to come back here as often as I can bring myself to make the commute. The only things that aren't really great about C.T. are the pricing (bit steep) and the fact that it's own popularity is it's downfall. Despite being a huge building with loads of seating opportunities, there is quite a wait around lunch rush so if you're meeting up with a friend and one of you (also known as me) is running a bit late, definitely don't wait outside for your friend but hurry in and get in line! Coffee and Coconuts is cool to the core; a former cinema with three floors, just bursting with life and creativity. There wasn't a spare seat in the house and the atmosphere was bustling and lively. We had seen CT in the airline magazine on our flight and knew we had to visit. We came at that super awkward time between lunch and dinner, hoping that it wouldn't be so busy but the place was packed out and we had to queue for a short time. We didn't mind because it was really interesting to watch the goings on. The staff are wonderful and, regardless how chaotic it seemed, ensured we were catered to throughout the experience. One mighty juicy burger and one Harry Nilsson later and I was in heaven. The Harry Nilsson is a new young coconut with lime. This Glasgow girl has long dreamed of kicking back, straw in coconut so, yes, love, love, love from me. Topped off with a cocoa coconut coffee = true bliss! Five adoring stars. read more

I have now visited this establishment 3 times and the vibe is great! I love how they use the earthy, environmental and healthy life style not only in their interior design, but also details like the ropes in the bathrooms and how coconut seems to be the ingredient in almost every smoothie or fresh juice. Last week I spend a day here working and meeting an agency partner for some serious business conversations. And yes it works. In this awesome 4 story cafe you can invite your partners, work and have a productive day. It is a creative environment which stimulates thinking and you can get away with eating snacks in between, drinking wine, a great cappuccino or if you start early a smoothie. The food is nice from gluten free to even vegan recipes, but also for us meat lovers burgers, beef taco's and stews. And they are all equally delicious. I really love their freshly baked banana bread, it is nice and moist(sometimes you get very dry banana bread) and you can tell it was freshly baked. It is a good thing this place is not located closer to my house otherwise I might start living there. Just one very practical thing: It is not very cheap, so if you have a small pocket do not order a bottle of wine ;) and make sure you get there before 10.00 am otherwise finding a spot to sit and work might become very difficult! read more

I am so torn about this place. On the one hand, the concept and ambiance deserves ten stars: it's the only place I can think of in Amsterdam that has that "American coffeehouse" vibe, where you're welcome to come and work on your computer AFTER six o'clock at night, WITH lightning-fast wifi, with plenty of lovely relaxed seating, and drinkable coffee. On the other hand, their food is so disappointing. I've only had the breakfast food and a nicoise salad, but based on those two experiences I don't want to eat there again. It looks beautiful but it tastes completely bland, to the point where I had to practically force myself to eat it (which never happens, I love most food). Also they claim to have all-day breakfast but it's actually only served until 17:30, after which you're limited to salads, snacks and 20 euro entrees. Also, just like every other brunch place in Amsterdam, there is a long line-up for seating around Sunday brunch-time. So I will keep coming here to work and sneak in my own snacks, just like at the movie theater ;) read more

I jumped on the bandwagon to see what all the fuss was about...and I am glad I did! First of all, this place is HUGE! Lots of room with different types of seating so you can choose depending on your mood. The service is very nice, but not overly so. Remember to just put up your hand to get a server's attention if you'd like something after your initial order. And they are happy to serve you. I got a the watermelon juice/smoothie. Very tasty! My only critique is that the mint overpowered the watermelon, but is was a good-for-you drink and I was happy with it. I also had the chocolate and banana buckwheat porridge. I was shocked at how tasty this was! I want to go back just for the porridge! Great brunch spot if you are looking for one! read more

I have to say that I am crazy in love with this place. I just cannot get enough of it I love the industrial look, the huge space, their friendly service and their menu. I think it's the first 5 stars I give to any place since I started reviewing in yelp. So, this former cinema it is now a huge cafe split in 3 different levels, with all sorts of areas to sit in from your standard table, to sofas and also lazy boys. Their beer menu is composed entirely by local brews of the famous Oedipus. Aside from that they also have juices, homemade coolers and the usual coffee&te. Can confidently say that after having the smoothie (Gorilla Loco), I can't change this review to 2 stars cause unfortunately the smoothie was disgusting (acidic, somehow flavorless but at the same time full of the grossest flavors, and dry). I'm surprised they're comfortable with putting something that tasted that horrendous on the menu. Might represent how they treat the rest of their food -- I'll never know since I'm never going back. You'd assume that the food/drinks would help retract my original review a little since I'm typically reasonable with my reviews hence why I this is my first 1 star review but alas, here we are.. at 1 star... sorry not sorry. Being open from 7am onwards, this is a great place to work on early weekday mornings. However, it is also good for an afternoon coffee, or an evening bite and wine. (One stop shop, maybe?) If I compare it to when they opened, they have improved tremendously, especially when it comes to coffee. While my first experience there included a cup of coffee that was too sour to drink, the latest ones left me energized, and happy. Furthermore, they have an extensive drinks list, including fresh juices and herbal teas, but also wines and beers for the guests coming in later in the afternoon. I am a big fan of the juices. No judgement, do as the French - any time after 12:00 is an acceptabel time for wine. Last time I ordered the shakshuka. It was a well-sized portion, I was not able to finish it all, even though I am a big eater. On a previous visit I have also had the pancakes, and the tacos. I am a fan of both, yet the way the tacos were served was not optimal. Serving something that is wet or 'sweats' on a paper that rips when soggy, is generally not a good idea, in my not so humble opinion. read more

Went for the brunch on Sunday morning. Arrived around 11 am...wow how busy is this place!! I got one of the last tables and just sat for a moment looking around while waiting for my friend. This place is booming with ppl, music, etc. It is really cool atmosphere. Let's talk about food. I got some scrambled eggs with avocado and feta...they were really good and the portion!! I guess I got 5 - 6 eggs on those two pieces of bread...way too much for my appetite. My friend went with all in breakfast, which was relatively small taking into consideration that you get to try all.. We also had some juices - watermelon and coconut, mango, banana..etc..they were very good. The only thing that was disappointing was the coffee..I had a cappuccino and it was okeish..nothing special and not so good coffee... The service was great! read more

The interior of this place is what is the biggest stand out. Three levels and a very cool vibe having it been a restored cinema and the place is always super busy and buzzing. I've been here twice and both times I was disappointed with the service. The first time I'd ordered bacon with my scrambled eggs which were left off the order to my disappointment. The dish itself was nice however the eggs were served on the colder side and olives on my plate were a lot less plentiful than that of my two friends who had too ordered the same dish. I voiced my disappointment to the waiter who offered a drink on the house which was kind but took at least 20 minutes to arrive back with it after other people on my table were getting served their drinks in the meantime. The second time I ordered just a cappuccino... the cup was tiny and it was 3 euro which I think is more on the pricey side but I suppose you're paying for the pleasure of sitting in such a nice cafe. The waitress brought my cappuccino sans spoon, so I wasn't able to stir in sugar leaving my drink to get cold for 5 minutes while I waited her to return with the spoon. Furthermore I was in the bathroom and saw a waitress leave without washing her hands which I think is completely unacceptable given that she's handling cutlery and food constantly. TL;DR Service is terrible, food wasn't anything special. Interior is really the only positive about this place. read more

Chilled out beachy vibes in the Pijp! Love the atmosphere of this place and it is absolutely massive on the inside, at night it's lit up with candles which makes it even better! For atmosphere it gets a solid 10/10, however it gets extremely busy which means noise is at a maximum... Try and make it early to avoid the stampede! As for the actual food and smoothies, the flavours are really good but the prices are soaring high which is why I only gave this place 3 stars, the prices and the noise... Would give it more otherwise. Recommend trying it once or twice to see if it's your thing :) read more

This is a unique space with fresh food and juices. The Acari bowel is chocked full of nuts, blueberries and banana chips. The coffee is good. There is free wifi. There are waiters and waitresses that actually seem like they want to take your order and care if you liked it. Staff is friendly and helpful. This may not be anything new for Americans but for Amsterdam it's part of a new attitude I'm seeing at establishments run by younger people. C. T is definitely hip but not snobby. The emphasis is on fresh food that's tasty. There are plenty of comfortable seats but it can get crowded. This is a good place to take a friend or hang out solo. read more

This is a high three star for me, would be a 3.5 if halves were allowed. The space is gorgeous-- you never would know it used to be a theatre as it's bright and airy, and completely massive. We weren't sure we'd be able to find a table, but a couple was leaving as we went to the top balcony, and we snagged their table. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options, which was nice, and all-day breakfast options. I ordered the beet burger and my guy had avocado toast with feta. Both were tasty, and basically exactly what I'd expect from the descriptions. Prices felt fine by London standards, although not a bargain by any stretch of the imagination. I didn't love that the burger didn't come with any sides, and they weren't offered or suggested-- I would have paid for chips or salad alongside it if I'd known that was an option. Service was fairly quick, although that felt like it was more about turning tables quickly than providing a great experience. We definitely felt like it was a "cool" crowd here, but everyone was doing their own thing rather than judging other people, so didn't mind too much. read more
