service was really great but the food here was not my cup of tea. i got the scrambled eggs with avo which is their most popular item and it had almost no flavor. the toast was hard and just overall the dish tasted so basic, like something i could make better at home for way cheaper. the lime lemonade was also not sweet enough and extremely sour.
Food: 3 Came in for a quick coffee and pastry, both of which were alright, but overpriced. Cappuccino had beautiful latte art but tasted watered down. Service & Ambiance: 3 The restaurant is a beautiful space, and seemed best fitted for coming with a group. The wait times and ordering/payment system were confusing - not worth it on their busy days.
I visited here January 2023. I'm from California, USA and think about my time here often. I understand life is different outside the states(we are a "fast food nation"), but I think Coffee and Coconuts sets a global standard for a coffee shop. Too me, ex-coffee roaster and ex-Starbucks barista, the bar is set by C and C.
I came here for a quick breakfast coffee and pastry, and vibed so hard with the giant dining area and the adorable cafe kitten. The iced coconut cold brew was delicious, and the almond croissant was also delicious. This is a great coffee spot/cafe and I would definitely come back.
We attended this establishment to try the breakfast menu. We were not disappointed by this decision. I had the pancakes and the big cappuccino (x2), my wife had the scrambled eggs and Dutch breakfast tea. The service was also good, 4/5 stars. I found it to be a very comfortable atmosphere, the decor and design was easy going and relaxed. The hierarchy in seating options and variation in seating levels also added to an interesting and unconventional spatial experience. I would recommend C&C!
Precovid trip to Amsterdam. And enjoyed breakfast so much on this trip. Coffee & Cocounts is a former 1920s movie cinema converted now into one of the chill spots for breakfast in Amsterdam. Loved the decor and ease of the environment. It's a huge place with 3 levels of seating. We sat at the top level, Yeap tourists us but it was nice. The service is pretty laid back so if your in time crunch, order promptly so you don't have to wait. We ordered the amazing avocado toast with egg. Also a nacho/pita style entree that also had some greens, avocado, and egg. Both dishes were amazing. In drinks had some lattes and fresh squeezed juice. Loved the overall experience and hope to go there again to visit next year when things get better. Side Note- Due to covid they were closed for a bit but on their website they said they are reopened now and are taking precautions for spacing and social distancing while dining, Happy breakfast eating ~
A must try out place in Amsterdam for brunch or breakfast . The gourmet styled food presentation and good options in drinks and food plates are really great .
I've come here a couple of times both for breakfast and pick up coffee. Ordering coffee to go, especially when it's super crowded on a Saturday morning is relatively easy. You go to the counter on the ground floor and order there. You then hang out and they hand the coffee to you. The first time I went was early on a Saturday morning so it wasn't too crowded yet but people started to come in as I left. The location is cool, in an old theatre. There are multiple levels so you can keep going upstairs. I like that there is a combination of seating, such as couches, normal tables and seats around a low table...like a living room! They do not have a turmeric latte (I asked) but I've gotten the lavender latte a couple of times and it's great. It also smells delightful. The smoothie with coconut bits was also really good. Coffee and Coconuts is really cool and I see it as a place where you can hang out with friends, chilling with coffee. The bathrooms are super cute so don't forget to check those out.
This was my first brunch in Amsterdam! The wait time was totally worth the food and coffee! I had a wonderful fruit bowl and coffee. Service was great. And the food was amazing.
Before starting the day in Amsterdam I came here under a friend's recommendation. Inside makes you feel like you are on a ship remains in a desert island with rope work, pale wooden three tier stair cases and just a nice chilled ambience. We sat upstairs overlooking everything and downloaded the menu from the QR code. Alot of the food was super healthy vegan/vegetarian and they went in depth about their coffee beans and showed how to make flat whites etc . I chose the Vietnamese hotdog and himself eggs with avocado and salmon. To drink I had the pinot collada followed by a raspberry ice tea. Himself had a flat white. The coffee was the best I'd tasted made with port beans. The food itself was all fresh and good portions. Mine tasted a lot better than it looked! The cocktail and tea was also super tasty but like a lot of the Netherlands it wasn't cheap. Most meals equate to €50 .. overall the staff were friendly and knew their stuff! And the venue was nice. Definitely worth a visit!
We landed in Amsterdam less than 4 hours ago. I can never sleep on planes and thought I'd be a zombie. Needing coffee to survive our fist day in Europe, I looked to Tracie. She has this amazing superpower at finding the best places to grab a quick bite or an energizing cup of coffee. She found the coolest spot, it used to be an old theater. Coffee & Coconuts is a three story spot that stays packed. They have a full menu of coffees, smoothies, cocktails and much more! Tracie ordered the Coconut coffee-double espresso shot, coconut milk, agave, ice. This place is beautiful but the service is slow & make you feel rushed. The wifi isnt strong for a day of work and the food was meh for the long wait/prices.
This is a very popular coffee shop I learned around here that serves a mean coffee drink as well as a great variety of delish fresh food. We came at 10 AM, which was a smart move as we were able to get a table easily on the Sunday morning. Service is relaxed here, when they sit you down they get your drinks. Afterward, we were chatting for a good 20 minutes before the server came to ask what food we want. Great for a chill Sunday morning with friends. At my friend's suggestion I got the coconut dream, espresso with coconut milk and a touch of agave syrup. The drink was smooth and creamy and a great way to start your day. For breakfast the full CT breakfast platter gave you a sampling of everything with delicious scrambled eggs toast, yogurt with granola, fruit cup and a coconut pancake. The toast was delicious and a granola had a nice crunch to it. The coconut pancake was to dry for my taste even with the coconut cream on top. The buckwheat porridge was served beautifully with what looks like matcha on top. It tasted very cinnamony and can be up your alley if you like that. My friend got a lovely French toast which look delicious with almonds and berries for garnishment. They play cool music that got louder as the day went on, definitely a great way to hang out with friends and catch up
A new hotspot in de Pijp which serves really great COCONUTS! :) When you enter this spot (used to be a a former cinema built in the roaring 20s - called the Ceintuur Theater), you will really not think that it even has in total 3 floors which really lots of seats for everyone. With so much space, it is still very packed because it is really getting popular in de Pijp. When in a relationship with a partner that gets on your nerves and clings on to you like a gold digger to a Louis Vuitton handbag, there's only one thing to say. "Honey, I need some space!" I'm pleased to say that if it's space that you're looking for then get your firm buttocks down to C&T Coffee and Coconuts in the Ceintuurbaan in Amsterdam. Based in a former theatre, C&T boasts ample room and has more space than the head of Justin Bieber. The Good A collection of juices, including plenty of options to mix with coconut if you so wish. The full CT breakfast, which includes an egg served anyway you wish, granola, sourdough bread, avocado and a coconut pancakes that are lighter and fluffier than the content of RTL Boulevard. Interior design The interior design of the place, like the young ladies one sees all dressed up at fashion events, is easy on the eyes. The food The menu is simple and has a number of healthy dishes on offer. Those of you with an appreciation of the classics, you can try their take on the hamburger, which is served with fresh coconut. Everything I've tried thus far, has been pretty good, and excellent value for money. Acoustics In spite of being largely open plan, and covering several floors, it's still possible to hold a conversation without shouting. Something that probably upsets the local ladies as we all know that Dutch women love shouting. ;) I'll also add it to my list of great places in Amsterdam to end relationships, as even if your soon to be ex is a shouter, in C&T, no one can hear you scream. I've got the power (or perhaps not) The only negative thing I can say about this glorious place, is that they don't have enough power sockets. It's incredible that considering the place was recently renovated, that they didn't think to make more power sockets available. Lots of Amsterdam hipsters and yuppies are left sat at tables nervously watching the battery charge on their Apple notebooks drain away. Whenever one of the few power sockets became available there was a mad scramble to grab the available power sockets, it was worst than the rush into V&D at sale time. That aside, it's a lovely place well worth a visit, and is now one of my regular hang outs. I'll give it four out of five for now until they add more power sockets. read more
I really, really, really like this place. Seriously, it's the incarnation of all the good you want in a café. The design. Sure, it's always a question of taste, but they objectively succeeded at giving this place a very distinct character. It's all hispter-cool-nature-spacious-light-wood-rope-surf kinda atmosphere. Several storeys with big tables, small tables, coffee tables, bar tables, big cushions. The food and drinks. For breakfast, lunch, or even dinner, you can get very, very nice food. Everything I tried there was delicious: pain au chocolat, granola bowl (really a must here!), pumpkin soup, gado-gado. Coffee and tea are good - rare enough to be mentioned! They also have nice juice fruits. Prices are very reasonable. The service. I find it very nice, but a bit sloppy. A good example is that time when I ordered a soup and it came about an hour later. I was working on my laptop so I didn't really mind, but still, seriously: one hour?!? They were extremely sorry and took it out of my bill at the end. I think that was a very professional way to deal with it, and I really appreciate that, but this shouldn't have happened in the first place. Other. The wifi is good and fast and free :) On weekends, it gets extremely busy... It's my new favorite in the neighborhood! I love to come here to work on weekdays. read more
Really great spot. Very NYC industrial hipster space. We arrived in between meal times so only "bites" we're avail but the edamame soaked in a teriyaki sauce (the same they use on unagi) were delicious. We devoured them. The quesadilla was small but delicious, the cheese platter (also small) with fig compote and nut bread was so yummy and the meatballs... Excellent. There is only beer and wine served here but the selections were really nice. Mainly Thai or Asian assortments. As the evening grew later the place became darker and music a bit louder but still very chill. Large bean bags upstairs are great for lounging and the communal tables downstairs are excellent for mingling, meeting or networking. read more

If you thought your favorite coffeeshop in Amsterdam was lit, think again. Coffee and coconuts is THE place to be. Lights, camera, avotoast :D Entire place is a repurposed cinema so three whole floors of good vibes complete with a food network worthy open air kitchen on the first floor. Wooden accents, pastel decor and free hanging lightbulbs galore. ~Could rave about the aesthetic for days if it weren't for the delish yummy bites~ Lovely assortment of freshly squeezed juices and smoothies, settled on a mint tea and was eyeing friend's lemon ginger tea the entire time haha soso refreshing. Food was creative, colorful and tasty! Tried the avotoast topped with eggs scrambled to fluffy perfection as well as the goat cheese and sweet potato open faced sandwich. Every bite was delightful and left a smile on my face. Staff was cheerful and so friendly! Love this place - no joke it's my first stop for sure next time I'm in town! read more

I really like the vibe in this place! The stained glass on the front is small, but caught my eye. I like the open multi-level plan. It can be a bit noisy, but was able to carry on a normal conversation during a pretty busy lunch. Unfortunately I had a cold when I went, so I won't be able to provide a good review of the food, since I could not taste it. We ordered a veggie juice, popcorn, the Rock away taco and the Roasted Pumpkin soup. My girlfriend enjoyed the soup and it was kind of fun to have the popcorn. I assume it is a nod to the buildings history. The service was decent. It was crowded, but they asked some people to move a bit so we could share a table. I'll be back when I can taste a bit more so I can enjoy the food as well as the ambiance! Worth the visit. read more
I'm a big fan of this amazing space! The service is great, the food is wonderful and it's reasonably priced for a bite, or a drink! Bonus points for all the awesome artwork on the wall (all of which I think you can buy.. if you had a spare few hundred €€€!!!!). As grand (hipster, yuppie, etc) as it looks, both from outside and in, it still feels very casual and relaxed on the inside. Now the things I recommend, obviously the Harry Nilsson (a fresh coconut with the top half off and an ode to their namesake and his 70s track, "she put the lime in the coconut..") which they serve to you with a wedge of lime and a spoon so you can scrape out the insides after you're done. And of course, the cocoa buzz. I've never felt healthier chugging this chocolatey delight! Other worthy mentions, their smoked mackerel gado-gado and basic but absolutely delicious scrambled eggs avocado dish! Needless to say, these guys have covered it all. So whether you're in the mood for a casual catch-up, quick breakfast bite or a long afternoon of chatting and drinking, this spot is perfect! read more

Really cool place to have a drink, brunch! The place is really big, 3 floors. It gets really busy on the weekend but the good thing is that you don't have to wait a lot because there are many tables. They have many types of coffee, tea, delicious fresh juices, sandwiches, burgers and breakfast/brunch till 13.00. I took the CT complete breakfast and it was really good! A place to go read more

Coffee and coconuts is always worth the visit, even if it's just for the venue. the decoration is great and it manages to be cosy and cool at the same time. great place to work, too! yet, the portions are usually a bit small and the staff isn't exactly the nicest at times. read more
Wow, just wow! I certainly have not expected that of a coffee shop, even from the city as cool as Amsterdam. The place has 4 levels of seating of all sorts - tables, comfy lounge sofas and floor pillows at the very top - choose any to your liking. The staff is a bit slow and sometimes is too pretentious, but for the quality of food we got I was eager to jump and hug them all! The place has a 10 page extensive menu - coffee and sweets, breakfast, all sorts of mid-day dishes and a large selection of cocktails and fresh juices. We landed here around 2 pm in the afternoon and the place was buzzing, so that we had to wait about 10 minutes. We then sat on a sofa for ages exploring the menu, with no attention whatsoever, but there was a lot to digest anyway. We ended up ordering a tune poke bowl, shrimp tacos and curry sweet pea soup. All three were outstanding - very flavorful, unusual and creative combinations of ingredients! Inside everyone is minding their own business - and perhaps accordingly the service is very slow - you can see friends chatting, people working on their laptops, romantic couples and family tables. No rush at all and we took time as well reading a guide book. We also got cocktails, and that is the only thing I would not recommend here - mine was nothing like a Bloody Mary and my fiance's was way too sweet. However everyone around us got juices served in coconuts - which was a lovely touch. I chatted with a girl next to me and she said those were delicious. Beautiful coffee shop. This cafe is more of a place where you get coffee and hang out instead of getting coffee to-go. The space is huge but during the day time this place is very packed with a long wait. I recommend going in the evening to avoid the crowd. read more
A much much belated review, but it is a review at the least. I dearly enjoyed my breakfast here and highly recommend this place. The ambience and staff are superb. It has that hipster vibe and I love it. My friends and I were seated on the 2nd floor. We overlooked below. There are plenty of places for you to gather with friends and just catch up. The food was amazing and reasonably priced. Definitely a must try if you're in the area!! read more

Great spot on the corner with indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of food and drink options, menu is also in English which was super helpful. I ordered the lemonade to start, quite sour and not too sweet - which is the way I like it :) it came as a frappe though, which wasn't what I was expecting. To eat I ordered the Tempeh Burger - Flavour was good but I feel it lacked as a burger. The patty was too soft and smooshed everywhere with each bite - had to be eaten with a knife and fork and I would've preferred more filling. Still a good experience and I definitely plan on coming back to try more on their menu ! read more

This place is absolutely amazing ! The food is excellent, outstanding service, the inside perfectly set, very cozy ! A lot of space with nice large bean bags seats :) Food is well cooked with fair portions! You will not be disappointed! read more
Came here with a big group of 10 for brunch. The line was out the door and it remained like that throughout our entire meal. It moves very quick however. It only took 30 minutes to seat 10. The vibe was incredible..i have never seen a layout like this place--Three stories, all open space, but not overly crowded. We ordered scrambled eggs on sourdough, French toast, the burger, the buns, the gorilla smoothie, and the turmeric cinnamon drink. All of it was very solid. Nothing was an absolute must get but everything was very good. The buns were very much enjoyed as was the burger. The burger comes with a tzatziki like sauce which was very unique. Service was fantastic. Very friendly and helpful. Some of the best service I have experienced in awhile. They also do work with NGOs and help the world somehow so you can't feel like you are doing the world some good also. Highly recommend as a brunch spot for big groups or small. read more

Busy brunch spot that makes you feel like you're on a yoga retreat a block from the beach. It was bustling with people the morning my friends and I went and we had to walk up multiple stories to find ourselves a seat. Everything is super open and spread out though so even though there were tons of people, you didn't really feel that way. The service was a bit slow, but I think it goes with their whole relaxed vibe. The food was good and they have a nice drink selection too. After visiting, it makes sense that I saw it recommended multiple times while researching where to get food in Amsterdam. Loved! read more

Excellent coffee according to my husband, I drink tea and was delighted with their fresh mint tea. The poached eggs were delicious with mushrooms and poached leeks and the French toast was also delicious. We also ordered one of their smoothies or juices, and it was very good. read more

Still here - and just finished the shrimp tacos! First impression - beautiful space, cool vibe, relaxed atmosphere! We ordered the scrambled egg, avo and toast; the shrimp tacos; the ramen bowl, banana and lime breads, coconut dream, blackberry cooler, cappuccino with havenmelk (oat milk). All were good. I wouldn't say the food was "over the top" but it's all about dining in a beautiful space. The service was quite slow and a bit nonchalant - but that may be because we are from San Francisco - and probably not as "chill" as they are here. read more

The main reason for a 3 star rating is small portions and high cost. I'm glad we ate here, but I wouldn't return (because there are so many other restaurants that I do want to visit again). We had the french toast which is one slice of bread, and very tasty of coconut, berry and maple flavours. Pan con Tomate was just OK (the tomatoes not roasted enough). The Gorilla Loco is tasty and overpriced. The latte was delicious. This also seems to be a hot spot for expats... read more

One of the worst meals I've ever had. The coconut pancakes were incredibly dry. It tasted like I was eating spoonfuls of blackberry jam with dry crumbles in it. I also got the Gorilla juice which was equally bad. It was an extremely weird flavor combination that did not work at all. Not sure why this place has good reviews. Maybe I just ordered the worst dishes. Really cool space though. read more

This is the first place I tried for breakfast in Amsterdam. Reviews were all good and it was recommended by a friend. Walked about half an hour to come here. Well worth it. Food was incredible. Drinks are interesting. 3 floors for seating. The scrambled eggs avo are my favorite. Had le croissant too because I couldn't decide. They were both amazing. The cappuccino was very good and I had the coco cucu which was refreshing. Loved everything about this place. read more

Had nice coffee with coconut milk&cinnamon (€3,5), delicious and not to sweet Coconut Pancakes (Almond & buckwheat flour, banana, whipped coconut cream, fresh blueberries, toasted coconut and maple syrup. All sweet and stylish (glutenfree)) (€7,5). Place has a beach atmosphere, nice background music. Nice first time impression as the place is big enough and you have your "personal bubble" privacy (not like in many other places in Amsterdam). read more
