    Oat milk cappuccino

Not a huge fan of the beans here sadly, a bit sour for my tastes even with the well foamed oat milk. VERY limited seating. And what's available inside is more tucked away in a lower floor with no light :(

"Hip hop playing with biggie and spike on the walls Batista had no idea what the cold brew was. SMDH" Since I wrote the above. A bit has changed. Biggie and Pac are gone, replaced by motor bikes. And the coffee menu has extended. No longer second to Bocca, their single origin and basic beans both stand out with distinct flavor noted. Baked goods on point. I could bathe in the lemon drizzle. Strong yet delicate with outstanding crumb. Generous portions that don't feel like you are being squeezed for every euro.

Around the corner from our AirBnB, and close to Foodhallen, the croissants are perfectly flaky and buttery. Cappuccinos are excellent, great coffee!

Love, love, love this coffee shop. Workers were bright balls of sunshine, the coffee and its presentation were perfect, and the ambiance was so nice and relaxed. The shop itself is two-leveled, with limited seating area, but my boyfriend and I nabbed two seats on the top so we could enjoy the sunshine and the customers come in and out of the shop. Will come here again if I come back to Amsterdam!

Amsterdam wins at the coffee shop game. This spot doesn't have a crazy variety of coffee to choose from and they will not serve you extravagant deserts either. What they will do is make you an exquisite cup of coffee. They do have some delicious sweets as well, but more in the realm of cookies and scones versus elaborate cakes and pies. But you truly don't need more than that. The owners adorable dog sometimes frequents the spot, which helped my 'seeing a healthy dose of dogs per day' fix. I wish there were more spots like this one.

Really great, fresh coffee here - we have been living in France for the last year and the coffee here is not that good. I had been wanting good quality, freshly roasted coffee and this place fit the bill. I felt like I could have been in San Francisco or Australia when I stepped into this coffee shop. It's fairly small, so it's not the kind of coffee shop to come and spend a morning or afternoon working or reading in. They have a few seats inside and a few seats outside, and you can get your coffee to takeaway as well. They also serve their own beans that you roast if you want to take some home, and have a tempting small assortment of cookies, breads, and other sweet treats. If we hadn't just eaten at the Foodhallen and at another lunch place, I would have been tempted to pick up something to go with my coffee. The flat white that I got was delicious and perfectly made - the temperature was also perfect to drink right away without burning my mouth. My husband got a latte and loved it too - it was the best coffee we've had in a while. Reasonable prices, quality coffee, and baristas that know what they are doing. If you want good coffee and are in the area, don't miss this place!

A cozy cafe close to the Amsterdam letters. The coffee was delicious and paired great with their croissants. The staff inside was incredibly friendly. There's a lower level and workspace if needed. It also opened early which was great as we got up to see the sunrise at the Museumplein.

I love the little coffee shop! The menu is very clean and minimalist. The whole shop has a very chill atmosphere. There are not many table to spread out and work but more bar seating to relax and chat. The coffee here is so good. I had a flat white one morning and a classic latte the next. The milk texture is so smooth and creamy. The coffee was so good I even bought a bag of coffee to take home and share.

    Heavenly cappuccino!

I am a coffee snob. I own four different methods of making coffee. I can't drink coffee at most places in Holland. Normally I drink americanos and can't tolerate too much milk in my coffee. Here, I had the best coffee of my life!! It was a cappuccino (!) and I'm still dreaming about it a month later...

Good coffee. Nice atmosphere. Really friendly and welcoming service. (Big plus!) And very reasonably priced. I decided to try the latte the way they make it (double shot of espresso). For me it was waaaayyy too strong. The new thing today is double shot of espresso in any size (for some reason especially at all the Australian/ New Zealand places). For me, a simple coffee lover, it creates a way too strong coffee. They do say there that that's how they serve it so you can ask for however you like it, so keep it in mind if you're not the biggest strong coffee fan!

Great third wave coffee place, definitely matching all the criteria of the business with exclusive beans and roasting on site, few pastries and slow dripping coffee. I liked their filter coffee and they were offering some pastei de nata that were decent. Quite small but it has a room with several seats in the back.

    Nice coffee.

Great coffee place with a couple of Aussies and a Kiwi running the place. I think I will try a muffin today! They roast their own coffee Beens' and you can taste it. Try this shop in hip west.

I was supposed to have a morning coffee with my friend Yulie, who's also a big amsterdammer coffee specialist, so she chose Lot 61. By the time I came there I received a message that she won't be able to make it, so I cozied up on my own a decided to try the famous coffee. I tell how it is: I'm not a coffee specialist but a fan, and I can say the coffee was quite good. The baked goodies were also delish. But what amazed me more is the huge coffee roasting machine downstairs, it's impressive and fits the atmosphere well and isn't it just interesting to see one of those live in a coffee place!:) Be sure to drop by Lot 61, because the guys really know what they are doing and I'll be waiting for my next time there as well to try all the coffee types they have! http://www.nansypop.com/food/lot-61-in-amsterdam-where-the-real-coffee-roasters-live/

Coffee was amazing. Single origin americano was perfect and our latte was really well done. Plan on going back for beans when I'm out.

This is the Costco of the Netherlands…read more You can only enter Makro with a Makro card by scanning the card at the entrance. You're officially allowed to bring along one guest who's not a member. So how do you get a Makro card? If you have a KvK number, Chamber of Commerce number, then you can apply for one for free. At Makro they list everything excluding VAT and under that, in small print, the actual price you'd have to pay. When you do the taxes for your business every quarter, you can apply for a tax rebate on all your purchases (at Makro). Don't have a KvK number? Don't feel too bad. This place is HUGE, yes, but is it really cheaper? Mehh. Most, not all but most, of the things they sell are not (much) cheaper than online shops and/or some actual shops. What is interesting however is the array of food products they have. Lots of options you normally wouldn't see at your regular supermarket. What's even more interesting is that the Makro gas station outside is accessible to everybody, i.e. no card required, and they are open 24/7. In addition to that it is one of the cheapest gas stations in Amsterdam. So if you're visiting Wah Nam Hong across the gas station or the Arena nearby, I highly recommend you fuel up here.

This is a pretty good store for specialty food, baking ingredients, canned food, bottled drinks,…read morecleaning products, some electronics, kitchen tools and office stuff. They also have a lot more like a lot of kinds of cheeses and a lot of types of meat that you cannot find anywhere else. The vegetables aren't that trustworthy (I like my vegetables and fruit to be very fresh) and sometimes they're good sometimes, they aren't. Same thing goes for the fruit. In the refrigerated part, you can find a lot of cooking creams and milk, tubs of yogurt and types of butter so that's good. My favorite part are the teas (they have a lot of kinds and boxes) and the Asian/Italian part with all the All the spices and stuff. it's free grades to find some products that you can't find anywhere else in the city, but I do think that a lot of stuff there is very overpriced. So I only go there when I absolutely need to. Upstairs you can find clothing, shoes (yay for cheap socks), electronics and office stuff. I would not buy from their cheap electronic brands, especially for kitchen stuff. Like brands you have never really heard before, because they are horrible and I have had bad a experience with it. So there's a tip. A bad thing is that there always seems to be mice everywhere. I cannot leave the store without at least seeing one mice once. So I always check if the packages of the products that I'm buying are open or something. Overall it is a great place for me to go buy baking products and kitchen tools, and professional cleaning products and specific thing you might need for the house. My boyfriend also loves going there to buy car cleaning and car related stuff. Just remember you have to be a member to the shop there, and you need to own a business to have a card. But if you don't have that and you know someone who has a makro card, they can take you there as a guest shopper.

This place is so freaking cute it hurts my heart!…read more Unlike other Amsterdam knick knack stores like Pylones or Flying Tiger, Kitsch Kitchen seems to have a) less foot traffic, and b) somewhat of a unifying theme - an obsession with all things Mexico (but...why???). From colorful hand painted ceramic bowls to Dia de los Muertos style figurines, this place has got you covered. Its sections range from stationary to kitchenware to kids stuff to party supplies to furniture - really a dizzying array of things both practical and/or pretty. My favorites have got to be the vintage style posters and drawer liners by the meter - not like I purchased any of these, but looking through these colorful rows or patterns is so much fun! The upstairs is a whole outlet area with discounted stuff, some pretty good bargains to be had! If I ever need a piñata or a painted skull or knockoff Barbie doll clothes or a replica Acapulco chair, I know EXACTLY where to go now!

It might be impossible to be sad at Kitsch Kitchen…read more It is so bright, it'll knock the sads right out of you -- and leave you wanting more, more, more Dutch designs to fill your home, your mailbox, Christmas tree, gift list, kitchen, walls and heart. Luckily I was flying Easy Jet back, or I may have loaded up a trailer or a boat and floated myself back to London on a brightly colored ship with all the doo-dads. ALL OF THEM. Instead I bought a red rooster tape dispenser (10 euros) and a really cute mobile (for a baby boy). I even got 15 percent off the mobile because it was the only one left, and a display model. They offered this without any protestation from me! Great customer service. A very fun shop to pop into. Great to buy a few little things for kids back home, or a statement piece to remind you of the fabulous time you had in Amsterdam. Also, bright umbrellas -- you'll need one here, and in Europe.
