A sampling of their morning offerings!!

Stopped in for a quick breakfast. This place is conveniently located near the Clyde Medical community, just past the Haywood Regional Medical Center. Yes, you'll see a lot of medical types eating in here. Three kinds of bagels, I got the everything. Blueberry and plain sounded boring. Fresh and lightly toasted, it hit the spot. Medium and dark roast coffee are on the menu, too. Medium was just right. Their menu shows an extensive list of sandwiches, cookies and pastries. Did I say pastries?? Omg, they look great. But, I'm only going to come here for breakfast so those things are going to have to wai

What a fun coffee shop we stumbled upon! The staff were lovely and smiling at super early hours, service was quick, food was hot and fresh, and coffee was superb! Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with incredible mountain views, local art/merch, and a detailed menu. Definitely recommend stopping in! I ordered the turkey Swiss bagel and maple pumpkin matcha latte (to die for!)

Hungry? You may need to order something more than a BLT. I wanted so much for this to be a good experience. But, this sandwich did not satisfy. The bacon was super thin. So was the tomato, really thin. And there was one leaf of iceberg. The cafe is clean, spacious, a nice place to sit a bit and enjoy a cup of Joe. They serve Dynamite Roasters' coffee - a roaster that began in Black Mountain NC. I got a 12 oz cup of dark roast. They will provide you with a splash of milk if you ask. Otherwise they have coffee mate shots on the coffee bar.

Looking for a coffee place when driving West of Asheville? There aint much in Clyde but at exit 105 you can get off the highway and get great coffee here. You will see it from the highway. They have english muffins in the morning and a selection of great sandwhiches and baked goods. An nice patio with mountain (and highway ha!) views. I pick up sandwhiches between Cullowhee and Asheville when I am driving between Western Carolina University and our Graduate campus at UNC Asheville.

Veggie wrap with cheesy tomato soup and key lime pie!

Excellent salads and sandwiches. We would never have found it if a friend hadn't told us about it in advance. So glad we got to try it!

It definitely could have been mixed a bit more because a lot of caramel was concentrated on the bottom but it was amazing. I'd go back for more. The slushie on the other hand was meh. I think it needed more flavoring added. The cookie was good as well. The girls were really nice at the counter. Overall I'd be back maybe even to try the butter beer thing they had advertised on their board I didn't see until after getting cider. Prices were also reasonable too which is definitely a win!

My crew had two drip coffees, strawberry slushie, and a blueberry and cheese danish. They have multiple carafes of drip coffee available, and I settled on the Breakfast Blend. The service was excellent, from the person who helped us with the danish, to the person who helped my kiddo decide on their drink. But the best service was to have an encounter with the coffee roaster himself. We were able to witness the original, untreated coffee beans, with their greenish hue. We could then see the vat with the roasted bean and compare. To our luck, we only had to wait 10° to see freshly roasted beans come out! Who needs any other entertainment when you can learn about where your coffee comes from and how it goes from start to finish. We actually came here for their whole bean coffee, and everything else was an unexpected bonus. We picked the Organic Guatemalan Roast, since we are creatures of habit. They ground our coffee for us, we paid, and went off on our journey a little more relaxed than when we came in. Definitely a place to stop when you're in the area. We love their coffee and their hospitality.

The lounge itself lives up to its name--the vibes are immaculate. Everyone I met, from staff to regulars, was welcoming and kind, which made the experience even better. We were in Lake Junaluska for a holiday, and in the morning we had decided to try out this coffee…read moreshop. We don't really go to coffee shops that often, partly because I am not a coffee drinker in the first place, and my mom has issues with most of them since they cannot get her order correct (yes, this is foreboding). It turns out that Caffeine and Chaos is well named. From the outside there is quite a bit of neon, and it is joined at the hip by a kids inside playground that for this particular morning was rented out for a kids birthday party. Observing the kids showed me just how unmanaged and spoiled some of the kids were, and how well mannered and sensible others were. It was a true dichotomy of child-rearing methodology, which was kind of fascinating. As for the place... there are the typical sofas and other lounging areas for coffee patrons to sit in, though when we walked in they were all mobbed by the parents of the kids as they waited for the playground to be opened up, so the unmanaged kids were running around screaming their heads off. This of course caused the barista crew to be somewhat harried, and that is not a good thing in this case because they already had organization issues. It seemed like only one of the crew really knew what they were doing, while the others were sitting at their stations and following orders... so of course our order got completely lost and we were sitting there for fifteen minutes waiting for an order that was never worked on. Not even a hard order, mind you... just a hot chocolate for me and a slightly watered down Americano for my mom. It was only once I walked up and asked them where our order was that the person who took our order realized it was completely missing, and they rushed it... which then meant that it was screwed up... My hot chocolate was fine, but the Americano was severely watered down the way Americans seem to like it, and not strong the way my mom likes it (see? Told ya there was foreboding!) However, we just took the drinks to our table and had them, because we were already on a time table and they were entirely too disorganized behind the counter for this to go any further with good results. We won't be back.
