This little restaurant is a nice surprise to discover if you are traveling through Clyde. About 19 of my colleagues and I stopped here to see what they had to offer after a long week of travel and I was very surprised by them. The shop itself looks very small from the exterior, but once you step inside, it opens up into a great little shop with plenty of seating. When I first looked at the menu, I noticed how big of a sandwich and wrap selection that they had, as well as a large drink menu. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap and a peanut butter milkshake. I enjoyed the food immensely and the only issue I had was that the wrap shell was too crispy for the sauces to soak in, so every bite that I took shot sauce out of it. Additionally, the price of the milkshake was the same price as my wrap and chips put together, which seemed pretty expensive at first, but I figured it was well worth the wait. I was right about that, too. The milkshake was sooooo good! It was the right amount of thick where you could still drink it out of the straw and the taste of peanut butter was perfect and not over- or under-whelming at all. Lastly, the service was spectacular. The team worked quickly and effectively with little issue during the course of our meal. Are you looking for a place with good prices and a vast variety of coffee and sandwiches? This is the place to go! They have a lot of different kinds of sandwiches. They also had soups and salads. I ordered the kickin Chicken Sandwich! It was really cool about the options for bread and how I wanted it. I could choose from white, wheat, or sourdough bread. I could also choose if I wanted my sandwhich regular, toasted, or grilled. It was simple, but perfect. It was very good, I liked the sandwich a lot. They also had cute little pickle slices on the side. They even came with the PB&J sandwiches which was a little strange. One of the things that I could see that they could improve upon is getting more organized upon who was doing what. They were all very disorganized. They had to yell loudly about who got what and several of my colleagues in the group of 20 were missing some of the items. For example, they could give the chips when they are being ordered as opposed to when the food is served to help stop some confusion. However, it was still good service in my personal experience. oh my goodness! Coffee Cup Cafe was nice place that serves mainly sandwich, smoothies, coffee and deserts. I ordered BBQ Chicken sandwich, strawberry smoothie, Zebra latte and a piece of chocolate cake. the sandwich was served with a pickle a BBQ source and it was so yummy! the atmosphere was fine. there is no special ambivalence at this place. there are just tables and normal lights. it seems that they dont have specific concept or cultur at this place. however, they have good price of foods and variety of food. also it is located near Clyde, NC near interstate that you can stop by if you travel. if i talk about one bad thing about this place, it is disorganization. I and other 20 people visited this place and we ordered lots of things. it was chaos, and we were confused because they did not have system that who ordered what and which was ordered by whom that the waitress had to yell and ask people individually what they ordered. some people order same or or drinks so that it was really confusing. however the waitress were very kind and helpful though. Coffee Cup Cafe After such a long drive form Asheville, NC, we decided to stop by Coffee Cup Cafe for a quick bite before we go back to Berea, KY. To avoid any kind of nausea, I purposely ordered Veggie sandwich and strawberry shake. My order arrived after everybody's. I expected my sandwich to be the best if not good but to my surprise, my plate was almost flooding with honey mastard. And so I spent most of my lunch minutes ovoiding the flood rather than tasting it. I gave up after two to three bites and decided to eat when I get back home. I really liked the setting of the Cafe which is built up on a mountainous infrastructure. It has out door seats, which can give visitors a good outlook to the surrounding green mountains. The Strawberry Shake was very good. If I were going to visit this place I would love to see very good chiefs, and fast waitresses who listen to the exact order of a customer. The Coffee Cup Cafe is filled with delectable sandwiches, wraps, deserts, and healthy teas as well as of course coffee. I had went there recently after visiting the historic Biltmore Estate and I was impressed. I have been to many sandwich cafes but this one is definitely among my top choices. I ordered the spicy chicken wrap with a bag of baked chips and it was a very satisfying meal. The meal is quite spicy but not so much in which you cannot taste the flavor of your food. On the other hand the service was great. My college internship program and I went there with around twenty people and the staff was able to serve us right away. Almost as if they have served a group with as many as us before. They were friendly and made sure we had a welcoming visit as tourists from the state of Kentucky. On our way back from Asheville, NC we stopped at the Coffee Cup Cafe located right off the interstate. Walking in the facility was quite quaint. The greatest thing about this place was how friendly and courteous the staff was. As we ordered, there were many sandwich choices that were cheap and simple to satisfy one's hunger. I ordered the ham and cheese sandwich with a strawberry smoothie. Let me tell you, I HIGHLY recommend the smoothie. It was sweet and cleanly represented. Then about 8 minutes later I received my sandwich. It was toasted to perfection on wonderfully crafted sour dough bread. The sauce applied was runny and messy, but I was so interested and in love with the taste, that I didn't notice. This sandwich was absolutely pallet pleasing. First off, I will say....the sandwich was SOOOOO good!! i had a reuben that was made hot on a grill that moment, as was the rest of the sandwiches ordered by my group of 20. You could hear the collective "Mmmm" all across the room. They should call the place World's Best Sandwiches and forget about the coffee....well the coffee is good too according to my friend. :) Now the reason for the 3 stars; the place seemed a bit understaffed albeit it is always a challenge to serve 20 people who come into a place at once. But the servers seemed like they were already run ragged before we even got there. The atmosphere also was lacking a little bit. Too much like a cafeteria/ old diner setting for my taste. The Coffee Cup Cafe is mainly Coffee,Sandwiches and Soups, however they have a vast variety of Sandwiches. Some that you might not be able to find in other places as they go beyond the typical BLT and PB&J. I went to the Coffee Cup Cafe with 20 other people, I thought they would take a long time but my sandwich was in my plate like in 5 minutes! It was delicious too. Prices were reasonable too but I was not told that they had smoothies and when I asked for them they were as expensive as my whole meal. The Coffee Cup Cafe is a little cafe that is hidden, but is definetly worth a visit! My group of 20 colleagues and I stopped here after touring the Biltmore estates. I was very impressed, they was not expecting us and still managed to serve all of us very quickly. All of my colleagues and I was very satisfied with their service as well as the quality of their food. I would personally recommend to anybody visiting this cafe to order the Turkey Cheddar Wrap and strawberry delight smoothie. These two things together are like peanut butter and jelly. Here for lunch with 20 college students after touring the Biltmore Estate in Asheville. Sandwich choices include Turkey Florentine Grill, Reuben, Smothered Ham and Cheese, The Rachel, assorted wraps, chicken or egg salad, and raspberry Turkey melt. They are known for the "Skrumption" a milkshake made with hand-dipped ice cream, Ghirardelli chocolate sauce coconut and whipped ice. I decided on the raspberry turkey melt and their speciality. After a couple hours in the Biltmore Estate, my colleagues, professor and I stopped here for lunch on our way home. Walking in was a treat to look at the menu. They had all kinds of sandwiches and wraps.I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap, which was excellent. I am not much of a spicy kind of guy, but this wrap was just right. The drink menu had excellent choices to choose from. After one taste out of a colleague's Charlie Brown milkshake, I just had to get one myself. This hidden treasure was a refreshing place to relax to a nice smoothing and good food. The Charlie Brown Smoothie that I tried was chocolaty and delicious! My soup was freshly made, but unfortunately it was served cold. I do not believe that the restaurant was prepared to serve large groups. Otherwise, I believe that my soup would have been warm. I got "The Rachel"- roast beef, horseradish, swiss and sauerkraut on a sourdough bun and it was DELECTABLE!!!! The coffee was pretty good, but nothing to write home about but it was the view that I enjoyed the most- it was my groups last day in the smokies before heading home and the view from this coffee shop was the perfect "good-bye". I have drove past here many times when going up to Kentucky. However the other day some class mates and myself stopped here for a late lunch. They had a great mix of café style drinks and common deli sandwiches with unique twist. I had a Blackberry and Turkey sandwich. It was the best turkey sandwich I ever had. I had a great experience at the Coffee Cup Cafe! I had a "granny" chicken salad wrap (called so because of the granny smith apples in it) and a Charlie Brown smoothie. Both were really delicious!!
