It's located in downtown Panama City and has a good amount of space inside. Immediately upon entering, there is some coffee and merchandise to your right, the ordering counter is straight ahead, and there's plenty of seating throughout the rest of the space. My wife and I were both drawn to their specialty menu, which was extensive and colorful. We both ended up choosing the same pistachio cookie latte, though I went with a large hot version, while my wife opted for a medium iced one. After about a five-minute wait, we had our coffees and headed on our way. My coffee turned out to be quite good. The first thing that hit me was the pistachio flavor, followed by the sweetness from the shortbread, and finally the coffee and milk came through at the finish. While I would have preferred a slightly stronger coffee flavor, I have to admit I basically inhaled it since I really enjoyed the taste. My wife also enjoyed her pistachio latte, and while she usually has quite a bit left by the time we get home, this time it was almost gone which says a lot. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I enjoyed the vibe of The Press and thought their specials were great as well.

The Cuban sandwich was just phenomenally delicious. The pernil was well received by everyone too. The ropa vieja was great too. To be fair, there were no losing meals at that table. I visited this restaurant around 1:00 PM, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing…read more When we arrived, the restaurant was nearly empty, with only two tables being served. Despite having two employees standing at the front talking behind the register, the restroom had no toilet paper. When we placed our order, we were told they were out of yucca balls and that they also had no beer available. We ordered a tripleta, beef patties, and juice instead. What was most frustrating was that the customer who ordered immediately after us was able to order and receive yucca balls. We asked about the discrepancy, and the explanation we were given was that she had ordered them earlier. However, we clearly heard her place the order while standing there. A simple, honest response--such as acknowledging that there had been a misunderstanding and apologizing for serving the last order to another customer--would have gone a long way. Instead, the interaction left us feeling singled out and, honestly, racially profiled because the other customer was Hispanic. Ironically, we are Hispanic as well, which made the situation even more disappointing. To top it off, the "tripleta" sandwich was not an authentic tripleta. If the chef wants to call it a traditional tripleta, it should follow the classic preparation and the meats that make a tripleta what it is. Otherwise, it would be better to rename the sandwich rather than market it as a traditional tripleta. Anyone from Puerto Rico--or anyone who has enjoyed authentic tripletas at Puerto Rican restaurants--will immediately notice the difference and likely be disappointed. The sandwich would also benefit greatly from properly seasoning both the pork and the steak. Adding the traditional mayo-ketchup sauce would go a long way toward delivering the authentic flavor people expect from a tripleta. The beef empanadas made the one star in this review since they were decently stuffed. Just need to work better on the wrapping. I posted a pic. But at least they were made and not bought frozen. I understand that mistakes happen, but honesty, consistency, authenticity, and good customer service are what determine whether customers return. Unfortunately, this experience did not meet those expectations.
