Overall, the house has been well maintained, but the 600+ square foot front room was considerably out of flat and wall-to-wall carpeted. I called Lippert's, knowing they are in the carpet business, to ask about a referral to someone who could pull up the carpet and see if maybe it was covering an original hardwood floor that could be refinished. It turned out that they deal in all types of flooring, not just carpets, and - long story short - they had a crew out within a few days, removed and disposed of the carpet and pad, and exposed the undulating floor, which was an inch out of flat in areas. After advising us of our options, we agreed to have the floor flattened, a combination of grinding down high spots and building up low areas. As of today we have a beautiful new Canadian maple hardwood floor with no noticeable deviation from being perfectly flat. The entire project, from first contact to completion, has taken about three weeks, and it cost no more than recarpeting. We can highly recommend Lippert's Stephanie and the father/son craftsmen Andre and Isaac. These guys know their business and kept our best interests top-of-mind, their suggestions were spot-on!

I had a home insurance claim affect my children's upstairs bathroom that leaked through my walls…read moreinto my downstairs dining room. I knew Ryan and Travis Converse for many years through work (as a Realtor) and they had down many jobs beyond flooring, such as bathroom and kitchen remodels. Ryan had just done several jobs for multiple Clients in a variety of aspects so I called him about my damaged floors, walls, and full bathroom. He worked with the insurance, hired plumbers, drywallers, obviously did the flooring and tile work, and then billed and handled EVERY DETAIL that was well beyond the scope of what I actually thought he and his company did. Because of Ryan Converse, my children got a brand new, full bathroom, I got all new Brazilian cherry hardwood flooring in my entire downstairs, new plumbing, and a whole new wall (insulation, paint, etc). I cannot really tell you how pleased I am with the job him and his vendors and employees all did, but I am thoroughly impressed that he saved me as much money as he did and how efficient and timely he performed. I ended up having them replace the carpeting in the rest of my downstairs a few months later, and I am again, very impressed. I will continue to refer Converse Flooring to all my Clients, friends, and family... oh wait, he just did 4 jobs for my brother and 3 Clients!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR LAMINATE VINYL FLOORING INSTALLATIONS!!…read more THIS IS THE TEXT I SENT TO CONVERSE FLOORING: Hello Laurie, this is Greg DeBré and I just wanted to let you know what was going on with our flooring. We are replacing all the flooring you installed 5 years ago, which we discussed. Here is what we have learned so far as we completed the bedroom yesterday: 1. There were NO major dips or uneven areas in the concrete which is what your installer claimed to be the cause of our issues. 2. There was NO vapor barrier installed as is required on all installations over concrete slab subfloors. 3. There were NO expansion gaps as is required by all flooring manufacturers for laminate flooring installations. In other words, everything that could have been done incorrectly was exactly that; an extremely faulty and poor installation. I will update you on the livingroom replacement when it is completed next week. I expect to find the same outcome there. The installation Converse provided was terrible and caused all the damage we incurred. As you refused to take any responsibility or even to come look at the problems, there has no way I was going to allow your company to do any further work in our house. This is a shame because your work installing our carpet upstairs and HD linoleum in our laundry room was excellent. Converse should not be selling and installing vinyl plank flooring as that is not something you do successfully. I've informed the Oregon Construction Contractors Board (OCCB) which unfortunately will not follow up as your installation was over 1 year ago, which is their time limit. They did inform me that I have 6 years to take legal if I choose to do so. We were trying to avoid any type of litigation but your actions have made us rethink that position.
