Had a glass shade on a Tiffany-style lamp that needed to be soldered back onto its mount. I couldn't get it repaired anywhere else and didn't want to replace it. Cody's took care of it and I was able to enjoy it once more until I accidentally knocked it over, (first time was the cat may he RIP although his demise had nothing to do with the lamp). I'll be heading back to Cody's once more to get it repaired, knowing it will be taken care of. read more

I purchased a lamp here previously and had a wonderful experience, but yesterday I was embarrassed after telling a close friend how wonderful this place was. We were totally ignored the entire time we were here. I had seen a lamp I knew she would like and it was very expensive. Even when fawning over the lamp no one ever acknowledged our existence. I regret not doing before and after pictures. I bought the lamp... 1920s oriental lamp. The wiring was a fire hazard. The original cord was there but it was cut and held to the new wire with electrical tape. SCARY. So, I set out to get it rewired. Mind you, this thing is old and solid wood. Could it even be taken apart? Enter Cody's. You have to make an appointment now (thanks rona) but they looked at it, I left my $30 deposit and they called 3 days later to come pick it up. Not only does my new wire look antique, they kept the original switch AND fixed up the broken piece at the top. Doesn't look like it was ever damaged. If you've got an antique lamp you love, it really is in good hands here. They also sell a ton of lamps and light fixtures. read more

This place is not just a repair shop or a store. It is an experience. We had to walk through twice and are still certain we didn't come close to seeing everything. It feels more like a lamp museum than a shop. We highly recommend setting an appointment and planning to take at least 30-45 minutes to walk around. Wow, Wow, Wow!! The best ever! We broke a very old, very expensive, porcelain lamp. We were heart broken. Found Cody's on line and brought the lamp to them to see if they could repair. We had a floor lamp repaired and a lamp shade replaced at Cody's this past week. the work and the customer service was far above average. I called both before and after the service and was so very impressed. I had been looking for the lampshade for my kerosene lantern for (without exaggeration) 15 years. Cody's fixed it immediately. The actual name of this business is "Cody's Lights & Repair." They buy, sell and repair used lamps and lighting fixtures ranging from delicate porcelain sconces to fabulous Art Deco ceiling fixtures. I went there looking for a hard-to-find lamp socket after checking all the big box stores and hardware shops in the area. Not only did they quickly find what I needed tucked away in a drawer of salvaged parts and sell it to me for less than the on-line price, but Mr. R. W. Henson invited me to check out the incredible array of parts--crystals, shades, fresnels, just about anything imaginable--and lights on their second floor. I recommend this shop to anyone who loves old lights, needs a part for an heirloom, or simply wants to spend some nostalgic time in pleasant company inspecting classy merchandise.
