This campground is awesome minus the fact that it's all stone spots and there are no mature trees for shade. The spaces are a good size though and the staff is insanely friendly and helpful! They probably have the single best welcome packet I've ever seen from a campground. Their dog park is all grass and is HUGE!!!! Our dogs absolutely LOVED it! The office has a few supplies and hand crafted wares by the camp host that are absolutely beautiful. There is a stocked trout pond that you can fish out of for just $5! Catch and release or you can pay $5 to keep the fish and have them clean it! Double score! This campground is super conveniently located to Cody and Yellowstone! And the staff are more than happy to help you plan all of the fun excursions you can imagine! They also have a gun store on site. Amazeballs! Can't recommend this place enough!

We purchased a trailer in Cody and didn't want to make the 7 hour drive home at night. Even with it being off season the Trout Ranch was open. The staff and owner were unbelievably nice and helpful. They stayed late for us to check in, gave us a tour and made sure we were welcome and comfortable. The park was very clean! They had full bathrooms with heat which was fantastic considering it was way below freezing and our trailer was winterized. We had our dog with us and they have a fantastic dog park with poop bags and garbages! We stayed in space 1 which is about as close as you can get to the highway. We had no issues with the noise. Yes you can hear the vehicles but it's very few and inside the trailer it's hardly noticeable. We highly recommend Trout Ranch if your looking for a place to stay!

We pulled into our spot and the road noise was loud, we looked around and there were a lot of empty spots. I looked online and there were quite a few spots empty in the park so we called and asked if we could switch to another spot further away from the road, the lady seemed annoyed and said she would see what she had available. We told her that we looked online at available spaces to switch to and she told us none of those were available. We switched to a spot that was actually in one of the pictures on yelp and it did not look like the picture at all. Dead grass and weeds. They said they were trying to grow back grass but it was all dry, had dirt spots and the spots are so close together that there isn't really much other room to sit with chairs because they don't want a lot on the grass. The picnic tables are literally so dry and old that the wood is splintering and the paint is peeling off, they also look like they are going to fall apart. Not to mention you are literally on top of the other trailer next to you. Some care and money needs to be put into this campground to make major improvements. Spots are small and squished together and the way they have you park your vehicle is odd. We consistently smelled sewage and it was not from our trailer because when we switched campgrounds the smell was gone. Maybe they have sewage issues because we could smell it walking around the park and to throw garbage away. Also they do warn that the sprinklers run at night but it sprayed more of our trailer than the grass and left hard water spots all over the side. The mens bathroom had one toilet and one urinal for the entire park to use (I never went to the women's). Funny thing is that nobody ever did end up staying in any of the spots we asked about moving to. I WOULD NOT recommend this place to anyone unless desperate. It is run down and not taken care of well. I would recommend stay at the KOA down the street- we moved to stay for one night there and it was night and day difference!

The bathrooms are cleaned daily at 2pm. During busy season, they should be cleaned twice. There are very few tent sites here. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. They answered all of my questions and gave tips about Yellowstone. The store was well stocked. If I ever need to stay in Cody again, I'd stay here.

We have a 25 ft travel trailer and we used the KOA website to book our stay. The girl working in the check I'm desk gave me a tongue lashing for not providing accurate information. She was unaware that a travel trailer would have a truck to tow it. We were pushed and had to wait 1.5 to get a new site. 2: They only have 6 toilet/shower for each gender. However, they have about many cabins that don't have bathroom and numerous tent camping site. Because of the large volume of use, the toilets were backed up. Showers have long waits. 3: The pool does have a code and the locals take over the pool/jacuzzi in the evening and the paying campers have difficulty using them. 4: No security to enforce any rules. 5: If you're going to Yellowstone, you're over an hour from the park. 6: Don't bite on the car that drives around promoting the local rodeo. It's not a rodeo, it's just local kids. It appeared they were practicing at your expense.
