Starting off the check in staff was not extremely friendly - she (owner?) did give me some information about local events going on but bickered with the man (husband maybe?) when I had asked about the free shuttle to one of the events. We pulled into our spot and the road noise was loud, we looked around and there were a lot of empty spots. I looked online and there were quite a few spots empty in the park so we called and asked if we could switch to another spot further away from the road, the lady seemed annoyed and said she would see what she had available. We told her that we looked online at available spaces to switch to and she told us none of those were available. We switched to a spot that was actually in one of the pictures on yelp and it did not look like the picture at all. Dead grass and weeds. They said they were trying to grow back grass but it was all dry, had dirt spots and the spots are so close together that there isn't really much other room to sit with chairs because they don't want a lot on the grass. The picnic tables are literally so dry and old that the wood is splintering and the paint is peeling off, they also look like they are going to fall apart. Not to mention you are literally on top of the other trailer next to you. Some care and money needs to be put into this campground to make major improvements. Spots are small and squished together and the way they have you park your vehicle is odd. We consistently smelled sewage and it was not from our trailer because when we switched campgrounds the smell was gone. Maybe they have sewage issues because we could smell it walking around the park and to throw garbage away. Also they do warn that the sprinklers run at night but it sprayed more of our trailer than the grass and left hard water spots all over the side. The mens bathroom had one toilet and one urinal for the entire park to use (I never went to the women's). Funny thing is that nobody ever did end up staying in any of the spots we asked about moving to. I WOULD NOT recommend this place to anyone unless desperate. It is run down and not taken care of well. I would recommend stay at the KOA down the street- we moved to stay for one night there and it was night and day difference! read more

I literally just called to see if they had a spot available and she told me to come on at 11:30am, We have a spot for you but as soon as I pull up she mentions check-in is not till 2pm? Why didn't you mention that on the phone? Poor customer service and really inconsiderate not to mention this while we were on the phone. read more

We stayed at this park for 4 days in early July. It's great! All sites are pull-through and are large enough for most RVs and trailers to park a vehicle next to the rig. There's grass at every site and a few trees. It's close to town. They have a clean laundry facility and restrooms if you need them. I definitely recommend this place! read more

Nice owner, close to grocery and easy access in and out. Water was fine. WiFi was terrific. Quiet at night. Bathrooms were clean. Sprinklers come on nightly. Most reviews said the sites were tight to get in and out. We had the site right next to the bathrooms, so we had no problem getting in. Everyone in front of us left before us so getting out was easy. Very thin gravel sites with close proximity to your neighbor. I will say that our relative lack of privacy was more than offset by the excellent wifi though. The signal was incredibly strong day and night! Restrooms and showers had unimpressive thin plastic curtains but were clean. Dryers were extremely hot and 75 cents for 45 minutes is a much better deal than most RV parks allow. Kind and accommodating staff. I noticed that a book exchange is available in the office. I then asked one gentleman about DVDs and he proceeded to pull a large box of them out of their storage room. So courteous! Easy walking distance to McDonalds and Albertsons. We would definitely stay here again in the future. read more

Great RV park with great people. The lock on our RV door broke and we were locked out. Lee, who is a helper at the RV park, came to our assistance with tools and ideas on how to solve the problem. Lee, along with the gentleman who was staying in the lot next to ours, worked with us until we were finally able to get into our RV. Can't say enough good about Absaroka Bay RV. We will definitely stay there again on the next trip to Cody. read more

This was a great place...we were in a pinch and this campground definitely came through...!!! We pulled in during the night and needed a place to charge our auxiliary batteries. One star is too much. We had paid in full 2 days in advance, the day we arrived the manager, Christi Livingston, said we had to check in on line prior to arrival and before we could have the internet code. We asked for the internet code to check in, saying we could not check in without internet, traveling off grid we had used all our data, too bad, unless you check in no code. So instead of giving us the code when we were already at the RV park, paid in advance, we had to drive into town and since it was midday, coffee shops closed, restaurants not open yet, etc. it took 45 minutes to find a location with WiFi to "check in". Additionally they have over 100 spots, we asked to move to a location not close to the road. The guy said pick any spot since wide open, there were only 5 RVs set up, we went back to tell him where we moved and then he said no you can not move contradicting what he told us, we would not have just moved if not had been told it was okay! The manager then came over as we were moving, with our arms full & obviously frustrated she said are you listening to me?! I said yep which she apparently didn't like so she storms off, gets into her car and drives off, seriously, instead of dealing with an unhappy customer she marches off and drives away! Customer service absolutely does NOT exist at the Absaroka Bay RV Park. We were assigned a spot next to the road with a RV right next to us and one across from us, on top of each other with over a 100 spots open and we were told we could not use the showers. One star is way too much, from our experience we do not recommend this RV park. read more

Spent two nights here and it was a really nice RV park. Our space was plenty large enough for our 40' motorhome. Spaces are level and clean. Great area for walking dogs - will definitely stay here again!! read more

Clean and quiet place on the end of town. Internet isn't great. Nice laundry facilities. No shade as trees are immature. Sites are pretty level. Stayed here in a 25' Winnebago View We would stay here again. read more

We stayed here for two weeks and toward the end of our stay I went into the office to get a package and the lady working immediately looked at me and said "UNATTENDED DOG". I was confused because she didn't ask a question, greet me in any way, or acknowledge that I was there for a package she just kept repeating "Unattended dog". Very strange. I then asked "what do you mean?" And she went on to say she stopped by our camper and our dog was tied up with no one there. I said my wife may have been getting the laundry that was finished drying but we've never left the campground with our dog tied up outside. She proceeded to argue with me and was extremely rude and complained about our solo stove being on the grass, which she had zero idea what a solo stove was. Also there's about 10 other sites there who had their dogs tied up with no one outside attending to them so why she chose us to harass I have zero idea because our dog doesn't even bark. When campgrounds like this are rude and act like we should be thankful to stay there vs treating us like the customer, they don't deserve my money. I immediately cancelled our remaining 3 nights and went out to Buffalo Bluff just north of town and it's 100x better. On top of the office lady hating her job and acting rude the sites at Absaroka are so tight you can hear your neighbors breathing. Buffalo Bluff has an amazingly friendly owner with huge open sites. The owner even let my 3 kids get fresh eggs from her chickens. Will never stay at Absaroka Bay again and no one else should either until they find someone friendly to be in the office. The gentleman that does pottery is actually great and I wonder if he's aware of how terrible his front desk lady is at her job. read more

Great place, very convenient to the Buffalo Bill Museum...IT IS NOT LOCATED WHERE IT IS YELP-MAPPED...it sits on a bluff overlooking downtown Cody, near the airport. We rode our bikes all over Cody from here. Strong, fast internet! Admittedly, we were there in October, past the summer crowd time, and can see how it might be a bit close when the place is full, but we were one of maybe 5 rvs, and were very comfortable. read more
