One of the best meals of the day in good old England is Afternoon Tea. This quaint little tea shop…read morein the Victorian Village of Buscot really does it well! Oh I did enjoy my High Tea - cucumber sandwich(it was thick white bread with the crusts left on - perfect for a hungry girl!) and my home-made plain scone served with clotted cream and jam. A generous pot of English breakfast tea with plenty of flavour was a natural accompaniment. Had I desired home baked cakes or a lunch I don't doubt I would have been just as impressed. My beady eye spotted the cakes under their glass domes; but my tea had been so substantial I will just have to wait until my next visit to give them a try. I will return because as well as the great food it was value for money. There was friendly service and some nice objects for sale. There were paperbags filled with old fashioned sweeties, lots of handmade crafts and a little glass and wooden case filled with affordable and quirky vintage costume jewellery. You could enjoy your tea and then go shopping for the kind of things you usually have to hunt hard to find! Combine this with the lovely garden to enjoy in the warm weather and the proximity to the riverside walk and Kelmscot and the National Trust's Buscot Park and you could have a great day out. If you find yourself if the area do call in too. You will be pleased that you did.

What an awesome tea room! Literally on the Thames!…read more 7 of us booked a table for brunch and were not disappointed! This is quite a big barge and seats about 20 people comfortably, offering a great range of cream teas, sandwiches, breakfasts and drinks. A little quaint, traditional barge tea shop. The cups and saucers are just fabulous and the coffee mugs are varied - all adding to the variety and experience of this wonderful place. The tea is served in leaf form so you have your own strainer, which is really cool! I opted for a full breakfast today which was just right! Unfortunately they had ran out of bacon but I got an extra sausage for that! Locally sourced food which was cooked perfectly from the kitchen you can see at the end of the barge. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, offering their advice and explaining the food options as well. The service was excellent and relaxed. The most important part of finishing the meal is the separation of the bill, especially in a group. However they offered to spilt this and each of us pay separately, this worked great! Overall, this is place is highly recommended for anytime of the day, relaxing on the Thames, in wonderful surroundings, watching the swans swim by.

We were sat upstairs near the window and it was nice and quiet there. Everything we ordered was delicious and we enjoyed our time here. Scone with cream and jam. I ordered plain scone. It was delicious. Warm fresh scone served with yummy cream and jam. I also ordered the chocolate cake tea with the scone and it was surprisingly good. Had some chocolate flavor and tasted good with milk. Hubby ordered Mac and cheese and it was served piping hot with a slice of garlic bread. Pretty good too! Kiddo ordered hot chocolate with marshmallows and a chocolate cake. The cake itself was soft and moist and not overly sweet. Went well with the tea and hot chocolate. The hot chocolate seemed standard and she seemed to like it. The place is not overly pricey for a touristy place. Service was also good and friendly.

The jam and cream were significantly superior to others I've had. There was also a wide selection of tea and some really funky and interesting ones as well! If I travel to the Cotswold again, I will surely be visiting Lucy's tearoom. The vibe was also cozy and welcoming. The service was a little slower but probably because we were seated on the second floor.
