Came in on a Saturday night and ordered the chicken Rasta pasta, which is definitely my #1 favorite! I also had two drinks made by the lovely bartender with the "A," and honestly, everything was going great at first. Unfortunately, my experience was completely changed by an interaction I witnessed between one of the male servers and the bartender. He started cursing at her because a straw wasn't placed in the drink. The straw holder was literally right there and within arm's reach, so he could have easily grabbed one himself or simply asked her for one. The way he spoke to her was really unnecessary and uncomfortable to watch, especially in such a beautiful establishment. To become that disrespectful and hostile over something as small as a straw was extremely unprofessional and, quite frankly, distasteful. I really enjoyed my food and the drinks, and the bartender was absolutely pleasant, but that interaction definitely put a damper on my experience. I sincerely hope management addresses his behavior because no employee should be spoken to or treated that way over something so minor, especially in front of customers. read more

Popped in for what was supposed to be a quick meal with a friend after a hard week but ended up waiting 4 hours total from sit to finish ‍. The atmosphere gives small but cozy . The music was really loud so it's hard to have a conversation but the DJ was good and playing all the tunes so we didn't mind much . One thing that was shooting is the one bathroom ... for such a decent space having one bathroom and having to Wait in a line was a little annoying . We started off with drinks the rum punch was tasty she said her margarita was good . Service was extremely slow it took a very long time to bring everything out . The Philly rolls were good but the portion size is extremely small .. 2 little spring rolls for 18 dollars ! The calamari was fried nicely . I got the oxtail Mac ... the Mac was burned but the oxtail was very tasty . I didn't send it back because at this point it took them 2.5 hours to even get our food out to us ... my friend said the lobster rice was decent but not worth the money . The bill was over $350+ with 18 percent tip already included in the bill so bring that bag with you . They have hookah priced separate as well but we didn't get any so I don't know the details. . Happy eating read more

I have gone to Code Red a few times however I haven't been able to get food as we were always arriving after the kitchen has closed. This one night I was so excited because they were still serving dinner. Majority of the time the live Dj be bussin the tunes, this night was no different. The only complaint I have is that we waited super long to get any type of food. We ordered appetizers and drinks a little after we were seated, funny thing was all the food came out together. Other than that the food was really good. The drinks been fire! read more

This year, I really want to try more restaurants in The Bronx and this one did not disappoint. Came on a Thursday night with my friend. They have happy hour from 4 to 9, service was wonderful, a little bit slow when it got busy, but the kindness and professionalism made up for it. Food was really great. We had the oxtail birria tacos, mac and cheese balls, honey garlic wings, muscles and shrimp in garlic sauce and steak tostones. Everything was really good and great pricing for the happy hour special. We also had the margarita flights and a couple of beers. The dj was on point with the music and the vibes were great! read more

The food was subpar, I had the spicy salmon and shrimp, with peas and rice. The shrimp was okay, the salmon was very hard and inedible, the peas and rice was hard as well with some softer parts while trying to eat it, as if it was old. The music was good though, there was a live DJ. The customer service was pretty good. If you're looking for a lowkey place to hang out this is the spot. I would recommend to eat before going. read more

I could not eat because it was 1 hour and 40 mins before the server came over. I had a ride to come for me at 6pm. I had been there since 4pm. It was run like a back yard BBQ. No one to greet me at the door. I never found that person. There is this convoluted thing of Brunch Buffet and you need arm band. Never got it so I had to wait for table service at 5:30. I had a Sunset drink it was awesome. Fair priced $12. The Sampler plates looked scrumptious. The group people enjoyed the food. The music was stupid loud and vulgar. Could not enjoy conversations. DJ did not turn it down after being asked twice. Folks twerking in the walk way. Its a vibe but not for me. Order take out. No separate checks read more

Happy Hour! This was my second time coming to Code Red. This is experience was wayyyyy different from the first visit which was amazing. Service, food, everything which made me come back for happy hour. We arrived around 6:30pm on a Monday for happy Hour. The vibes were vibey, old school hip hop and rnb playing. The game playing on several large screen tvs. Happy hour goes until 9pm which is very rare. Drinks were $8 along with a variety of discounted apps. For my cocktail I had a Pineapple Mai Tai with a side of mussels and shrimps. This was the strongest pineapple Mai Tai I've ever had. It was soooo good! And so were the mussels and shrimp. When we placed our drink and app order we also ordered Hookah. Drinks and apps came but the hookah didn't. About 45 mins later I reminded our waitress we were still waiting for the hookah and she said she would check on it. 30mins later we placed our entree order. I again inquired about the hookah and was then told the person that makes the hookah isn't in. Why wasn't that mentioned over an hour ago when it was first ordered? 30mins later she comes back saying the hookah person is in and it'll be right out. 10mins later the hookah was on the table. At this point we inquire about our entree we hadn't received. She said they were short staffed and experiencing delays. That would've been nice to know upon placing the order. We waited an 1hr and 15mins for our entree. Being that we were smoking hookah and had ordered another round of drinks it eased the wait time. Once the food did come out everything was good. My BF had the surf & turf. He asked for the steak to be cooked medium but it was medium well (after that long wait time we weren't sending anything back). I had the oxtail birria taco (good but beware of the bone from the oxtail in the taco). My niece had the oxtail stew which she also said was good. By the time we received the bill and paid it was 9:30pm. The service was horrible, the wait time was horrible. Towards the last 15mins another woman offered apologies for the wait time but at that point we were over it and almost out the door. Nothing was comped on the bill, nothing was offered. We paid the bill, tipped well and made our way out. read more

Code red is always my go to especially when it gets later in the night. The food is always on point and the music is always hittin. Sometimes it could get more pricey but everything is affordable. I tend to graduate towards the rum pum abd some pasta pasta combination. I do enjoy there tacos as well. I go here often enough so no complaints. The vibes is always right here. read more

I came back from the first time I was here. The drinks were great and the food was good when I was at the table on 7/29/26. I came again on 8/1/26 and sat at the bar and the bar tenders were nasty. I ordered a Rose Sangria....watched her make it and only put 1 ingredient that goes in the drink in there. Left out the titos and put a house liquor in there and no Malibu and when I asked ....both bartenders said oh it depends....u can make it how u want. I seen them make other ppls drink with the titos. Again when I came on 7/29/26.... GREAT EXPERIENCE!! read more

I went to the establishment for taco Tuesday with a friend wanted to try it out and be there was close to home. I wanted to see what they offered their menu for taco Tuesday was not bad. We ended up having the oxtail tacos, the catfish fritters along with some wings. She had the wrong punch and I had like the pineapple Mai Thai. Everything was good. They were renovating so unfortunately they didn't have my Yankee game but they have good music. We ended up sitting at the bar. The service was great. We enjoyed it and we will try going again read more

Food 5 stars immediately. Service mostly 3 1/2 . Super slow service. I was shocked this place was empty and we were a group of at least 60 . They should have already been prepared way earlier and we all arrived there 30 min later than what we told them. Which is the crazy part. The floor was sticky and when you got into the door it smelled something awful. Im very perplexed. I don't drink but I heard the sangria was very good. The food again I tell you was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS. I pray this owner gets it together bc that food is delicious. The goat was soft as butter, the wings are slamming. The salad, the shrimps, the sampler dish wow! They deserve 5 stars but the service is ridiculous slow. They need to clean up that joint. This is sitiated on a corner which is a great spot to see right away from outside, plenty of outdoor parking. They don't play music or have like a great vibe. I don't know what's going on but I wish them well. read more

The food was pretty good. The only thing was that the wigs appetizer the wigs were not cook and told the waitress and see just okay! That was not professional or appropriate. Drinks are great really enjoyed my cocktails. The ambiance was interesting and exciting. The decoration is really amazing. I came here from CT to celebrate my nieces birthday. Would probably come back to chill. read more

I went here recently with my newly engaged friends, and the food was really good. I was a little disappointed that we missed out on bottomless brunch by like 10 minutes but it was still a nice time. I ordered the Coconut Curried Shrimp and it was cooked very nicely, I just wish there were a little more shrimp in the serving. I also ordered 2 Rose Sangrias and they were so good honestly I slept really well after this meal lol so I know that it had a lot of soul in it. The owner gave us free shots at the end and she was super attentive the whole time. My friends had a good time celebrating their engagement, there was a live DJ who gave them a nice shout out and everyone was having a ball, I love that it's local and I will be back for brunch! read more

Happy Hour Done Right (Mostly) If you're looking for a solid happy hour spot, Code Red delivers. The vibes? On point. The music? Actually matched the mood--none of that sad, slow stuff that makes you rethink your life choices mid-sip. The atmosphere had just the right mix of energy without feeling like a full-blown nightclub. The drinks? Decent. Not mind-blowing, but they got the job done. If you're here for handcrafted, mixologist-level cocktails, you might leave underwhelmed. But if you're just trying to sip, vibe, and enjoy the scene, Code Red is a win. read more

Ambiance: Music is extremely loud you can't hear anything the person next to you is saying. Let there before 10pm it's 2:00 my ears are still ringing. Service: Escorted to our table and she literally threw the QR code across the table. I gave her a side eye as she walked away. Guess she realized what she did and came back to apologize. That was our cue to walk out ,unfortunately we didn't The food . Don't know what the hype is all about. Appetizer: fish cakes were literally seasoned fried dumplings no exaggeration. Entree: lamb chops were ok, mash potatoes were stale baked potatoes turned into a lumpy mash and wilted asparagus. The food arrived on a slow boat from China. Very slow service. The waiter tried his best. Never to return all hype. read more

I went for a birthday dinner. Code Red definitely has good music playing in there. They did have a live DJ that kept saying that the music plays until 2am. By 10pm, they had a security line set up outside FYI. The service and the food could have been better. It took awhile to get drinks and to get our order placed. If you are hungry, eat something before because you might be waiting a bit. I tried the Rasta pasta (6.5/10), surf & turf (6.5/10) and the platter (8/10). The platter had sweet plantain, curry goat, jerk chicken, oxtails, and rice. The sweet plantain, jerk chicken and curry goat were good. read more

Oh my my. This was my 2nd time here. 1st time was over a year ago. So plus was the music and the guava bellini, and the price. For this I am giving 2 stars. Arrived @ 1:30 on Sunday June 8. All the social media hype has definitely paid off. Party of 2, no wait and seated right away. We waited at our table and noone came to speak to us. All the person did was seat us. No info was given about the cost etc. Given that noone came we got up and went to the buffet. We were greeted by one of the servers who asked us about a wrist band. We had no clue at which time she told us that it was $45 pp, all you can eat and drink. But when she went to charge us I noticed that the price was $115. I asked what we the difference she stated it was due to tax etc. We paid and then started to get food. My plate jerk chicken, fry chicken, rice and peas, ground provision. ALL COLD!!!!!! Jerk had nice flavor, smoky, seasoned but COLD. Fried Chicken undercooked, bloody. Rice and peas shelly but COLD!!!!. His plate jerk pork, egg and cheese wrap, rice and peas and cornmeal porridge. Everything but the porridge was cold. We both agreed that had the food been warm then maybe it would have tasted better. We mentioned that the food was cold and the server informed that they just changed out the burners. We tried another round. Our plate, callaloo, ackee and saltfish, rice and peas. A little warmer but callaloo was not seasoned, ackee and saltfish was salty. Gave this a 2nd chance hoping it was better but this will be the last time. read more

I found this place on instagram and ended up going the week of my birthday. I was not disappointed! Just like the videos on their Instagram page no lie! My hostess name was Ayanna F. She made me honestly feel like i was at home. My family is Jamaican so the area being Gun Hill majority Jamaican and Caribbean made me feel really at home. It was a full house i liked that it showed they get alot of crowd but her hospitality was through the roof she made sure we had everything we asked for and more. She made us feel like it was just us there she recommended the Lemon Drop and it sure did drop me lol i had a great time me and my boyfriend appreciate and love how we were treated there. Will be back soon. The decor is amazing and enough room to lowkey be a dancedfloor. It did become a dancedfloor once the DJ announced all the birthday people and played some good tunes. I came all the way from Hollis Queens (Bianca) the birthday girl Ayanna if you're reading this i really appreciate the hospitality and stay awesome you were 10 out of 10. We will be back soon! The pictures don't do the place enough justice really a top tier caribbean restaurant. As a daughter of former Jamaican restaurant owners this was fire recommend to everyone. Thanks Again CodeRed read more

Check it, it's Wednesday evening, so there isn't a packed house. The good vibes upon entrance was decent. You'd think with this disclaimer the service and vibe lasted, but no honey it was short of great because the "bartender" sat at the end of the bar smoking hookah with the hookah girl for 40 minutes while we waited for our food. I spoke to him three separate times asking about our orders. Zero out of three times did he bother to check in with the cooks in the back. It wasn't until I asked for the check--ready to walk out--that he suddenly found the strength to speak to the kitchen and finally bring our food out. Meanwhile, delivery orders were going out smoothly, before ours was even acknowledged. And then the audacity to auto-include 18% gratuity--ha!--when not even 1% of good service was present. Musics great, Decor is a 3, black owned-- but not business led, service is a 2, professionalism is non existent, food is B- !! I thoroughly enjoyed my vegan plant based meal at home!! read more

Have been here several times & I LOVE IT HERE. Today I had the lobster Mac & cheese with the oxtail tacos. They gave a whole lobster tail with the Mac. I was in heaven. My fav drink is the rum punch. You honestly only have to finish one half of the punch and you WILL feel it. So tasty & the drink will sneak up on you. Tarshawna waited on me & per usual she was extremely attentive and pleasant. Tonight was my first and last time visiting this restaurant. This place is ghetto. The waitress took over 30 minutes to take our drink order. The food took ever longer. 45 minutes to be exact, I ordered the Crab Fried Rice w/ lobster and shrimp. Barely any crab meet in the rice. They didn't even put the rice in the pineapple, It sucks that this is a black owned business but the service was so terrible that I didn't even tip the waitress. Food is not worth the price. The drinks are good though. read more

Came to unwind after a long shift at the hospital and Happy Hour at Code Red did NOT disappoint! The rum punch was refreshing, delicious, and hit just right--we each had at least three, and my friend had seven... she was LIT! The DJ kept the vibes high with great reggae tracks, and the whole place turned into a dance floor. Everyone was partying together like family--classic New York energy! Electric atmosphere, amazing drinks, and a night to remember. We didn't order anything to eat so I can't say anything about the service, but the bartenders were friendly and made good drinks! read more

Food was good! The seafood was good. My favorite thing was the cabbage, it was very delicious. I know exactly what to get next time.
