One thing that was shooting is the one bathroom ... for such a decent space having one bathroom and having to Wait in a line was a little annoying . We started off with drinks the rum punch was tasty she said her margarita was good . Service was extremely slow it took a very long time to bring everything out . The Philly rolls were good but the portion size is extremely small .. 2 little spring rolls for 18 dollars ! The calamari was fried nicely . I got the oxtail Mac ... the Mac was burned but the oxtail was very tasty . I didn't send it back because at this point it took them 2.5 hours to even get our food out to us ... my friend said the lobster rice was decent but not worth the money . The bill was over $350+ with 18 percent tip already included in the bill so bring that bag with you . They have hookah priced separate as well but we didn't get any so I don't know the details. . This one night I was so excited because they were still serving dinner. Majority of the time the live Dj be bussin the tunes, this night was no different. I came back from the first time I was here. The drinks were great and the food was good when I was at the table on 7/29/26. I came again on 8/1/26 and sat at the bar and the bar tenders were nasty. I ordered a Rose Sangria....watched her make it and only put 1 ingredient that goes in the drink in there. They have happy hour from 4 to 9, service was wonderful, a little bit slow when it got busy, but the kindness and professionalism made up for it. Food was really great. The shrimp was okay, the salmon was very hard and inedible, the peas and rice was hard as well with some softer parts while trying to eat it, as if it was old. Happy Hour! This was my second time coming to Code Red. This is experience was wayyyyy different from the first visit which was amazing. Service, food, everything which made me come back for happy hour. We arrived around 6:30pm on a Monday for happy Hour. The vibes were vibey, old school hip hop and rnb playing. The game playing on several large screen tvs. Happy hour goes until 9pm which is very rare. Drinks were $8 along with a variety of discounted apps. For my cocktail I had a Pineapple Mai Tai with a side of mussels and shrimps. This was the strongest pineapple Mai Tai I've ever had. It was soooo good! And so were the mussels and shrimp. When we placed our drink and app order we also ordered Hookah. Drinks and apps came but the hookah didn't. About 45 mins later I reminded our waitress we were still waiting for the hookah and she said she would check on it. 30mins later we placed our entree order. I again inquired about the hookah and was then told the person that makes the hookah isn't in. Why wasn't that mentioned over an hour ago when it was first ordered? 30mins later she comes back saying the hookah person is in and it'll be right out. 10mins later the hookah was on the table. At this point we inquire about our entree we hadn't received. She said they were short staffed and experiencing delays. That would've been nice to know upon placing the order. We waited an 1hr and 15mins for our entree. Being that we were smoking hookah and had ordered another round of drinks it eased the wait time. Once the food did come out everything was good. My BF had the surf & turf. He asked for the steak to be cooked medium but it was medium well (after that long wait time we weren't sending anything back). I had the oxtail birria taco (good but beware of the bone from the oxtail in the taco). My niece had the oxtail stew which she also said was good. By the time we received the bill and paid it was 9:30pm. The service was horrible, the wait time was horrible. Towards the last 15mins another woman offered apologies for the wait time but at that point we were over it and almost out the door. Nothing was comped on the bill, nothing was offered. I found this place on instagram and ended up going the week of my birthday. I was not disappointed! Just like the videos on their Instagram page no lie! My hostess name was Ayanna F. She made me honestly feel like i was at home. My family is Jamaican so the area being Gun Hill majority Jamaican and Caribbean made me feel really at home. It was a full house i liked that it showed they get alot of crowd but her hospitality was through the roof she made sure we had everything we asked for and more. She made us feel like it was just us there she recommended the Lemon Drop and it sure did drop me lol i had a great time me and my boyfriend appreciate and love how we were treated there. Will be back soon. The decor is amazing and enough room to lowkey be a dancedfloor. It did become a dancedfloor once the DJ announced all the birthday people and played some good tunes. You'd think with this disclaimer the service and vibe lasted, but no honey it was short of great because the "bartender" sat at the end of the bar smoking hookah with the hookah girl for 40 minutes while we waited for our food. I spoke to him three separate times asking about our orders. Zero out of three times did he bother to check in with the cooks in the back. I've visited Code Red twice and both dining experiences were pleasant. The food, ambiance, and live DJ was a vibe on a Saturday night. I ordered their Glazed Salmon & Shrimp with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Veggies. The veggies were a little to raw for my liking but the glazed sauce on the salmon and shrimp has great flavor and had the right amount of sweetness. The mashed potatoes are creamy/chunky and they leave bits of the potato skin on..it was a pretty large portion, imo. I also tried their Code Sample Platter: Codfish Cakes, Jerk Chicken and Shrimp, Egg Rolls, Festival and Escoveitch Fish. The cod fish cakes were a bit oily but overall the platter was good. Customer service was on point as well. My server, Nicola, was attentive and polite. She made sure my friend and I had everything we needed.
