Too bad the atmosphere is poor because the steak definitely deserves a 5-stars for the price you pay!
Atmosphere 2/5: Let's be real, you're in a PMU which is usually a Bar where you gamble in different lotteries. The atmosphere is cold and modern. Not really the type of place I would call romantic, the place doesn't have any originality.
Food 5/5: A 250gr Entrecôte de Cheval for 24 CHF is an unbeatable price in Lausanne! The meat is tender and juicy but I would doubt you'd be able to finnish 250gr. I think I will order next time the 150gr for 18 CHF with fries and small side of salad next to the entrée. For the entrecôte, you have the choice of 3 sauces, I chose Mushroom sauce but I was kind of disappointed by the taste. It was tasteless to be honest. The café de Paris seemed to be the best option. The place is usually packed between 12pm-1pm so make sure to reserve your table if you're planning to go within those hours. The restaurant serves now non-stop cuisine from 11.30am - 10pm.
Service 4/5: Service was great. The place was packed when I arrived but the waitress made sure to move an outside table and place it inside so our party of 2 can seat. She did a great job at serving us. I'm giving 4/5 because we waited for 30-35 min for our main entrée.
NB: Couple things you before heading there,
- Reserve your table if you plan to go between 12-1pm
- Bring cash, they do not accept credits cards
- Glass of tap water is charged $2
- Might encounter some delay between 12-1pm
