Go somewhere else! The food is highly highly mediocre. The food took forever and they brought out French fries that were cold and stale, not just mine but also my fiancés. Probably one of the worst French onion soups I've had to date. Just go elsewhere, it's bound to be better than here. 2 stars just for the service.

I didn't pay for the lunch so I can't comment on the price. I had the perch, the specialty of the house, it comes from Lake Geneva and was exquisite. The presentation was perfect. The salad that comes with the meal, too was delicious, healthy and fresh. Our waitress was playful and helpful, she spoke English and seemed to be a seasoned professional. Lovely vibe. The wine was delicious, a Swiss white. I will post a photo. I recommend this spot highly.

Atmosphere 5/5: Try to come eat during Summer time and reserve your table in advance because they're booked every night when the weather is good. Eat a dinner right in front of the Leman Lake and the Alps? Priceless to be honest specially when the food is good. Food 5/5: I had the Filets de Perche the first time and the Filets de Boeuf the second time. Both are excellent and were nicely presented. Taste was excellent and everything was fresh. Service 3/5: Service fell short a little bit specially for a restaurant of that standing. You will see a lot of apprentice doing internships here and they might not speak French nor English. So be aware that you might have some difficulty of communication but beside that, everything was excellent. A easy 4+ out of 5 for this restaurant.

What better way to do this than in a café across from the reflection of the Alps on beautiful Lake Geneva? (My review comes a year late. I didn't realize this had been sitting in my drafts for a while. But, here I am, finally completing it.) We started with a planchette valaisanne and some local wine. Then, we shared a fondue moitié-moitié that was divine. We spent hours enjoying our food and our conversation, nothing like we've ever done living back in the US. I'm so happy I got to experience this in Lausanne. Thank you for this, Le Vieil Ouchy!

My daughter and I wanted to try fondue in Switzerland so she found this restaurant on trip advisor…read more I also checked out reviews on Yelp. The restaurant is by the wharf with gorgeous views of the mountains. No one was dining inside but it was so windy outside several times that glasses blew off tables and shattered. Kind of scary. There were a few language problems with our server Pablo, but he did a good job. We ordered green and mixed salads for appetizers. They were great. Then we ordered cheese fondue with bread and potatoes. I liked the potatoes much better. It was getting cool after dark so we didn't stay for dessert. They had pie and ice cream on the menu. I didn't see chocolate. Oh, well.

Atmosphere 4/5: Nothing fancy or too weird. The restaurant is well located and close to the main Bus station "Saint Francois". The place itself looks like a modern ish Cafe Restaurant. Food 5/5: I was delighted both times. First time, I had a Salmon with Mashed Potatoes and I had the second time, a Hashi Parmentier which was EXCELLENT. It's one of their specialty there and it comes with a Salad for 18 CHF. Service 5/5: The staff is friendly and professional. They make sure to accomadate you to the best they can get you. The service is quiet fast if you're short on time. Last but not least, make sure to reserve your tables during Summer time on the Terrace ahead of time because they tend to be most of the time full by the time you get there even at 11am.

The food is great and if you get good service, the experience is worth it. However, you should expect to wait a while to have anyone come acknowledge you and plan to wave the waiter/waitress down a lot. I've been here for brunch on a Sunday and the food was pretty good. I went again for dinner and it was tapas style. It is a great way to taste a lot of good foods. The tartar was just ok, but the later night menu items were really good. Plan to make a reservation early enough if you can, otherwise tables are nearly impossible to get. So overall - good food and probably worth trying to get to in Lausanne...but prepare correctly!
