Had DineLA dinner here tonight. I had one guest. Our server was Amanda. She was patient with my questions and was kind and gracious. I ordered the Scallop appetizer. I was underwhelmed by the small portion. It dad not resemble the photo. Ordered the Octopus and crab salad appetizers. Entrees were the Wagyu Grilled Steak and the Chilean Sea Bass. My second favorite was the spicy tuna crispy rice, which was so good I'll be ordering multiple plates next time. I celebrated my birthday here and it was so good and it was amazing and it made my day! Crushed lobster rolls, black ink squid pasta, Sushi, walnut shrimp, and green beans here. This is hands down the best seafood spot in this area and possibly all of LA. Only The Blue Oeyster cafe in Malibu has a lobstah roll that can hang with this. Thanks COD! read more

We came here for a Valentine's Day dinner and we were seated by a hostess. We waited about 10 minutes for a server to come by. The hostess who initially sat us ended up being our server. She had spent the last 10 minutes sitting on a barstool talking to a patron. When she took our order, we had to repeat it multiple times because she didn't want to write it down the first time we gave our order. There was only one other table in the restaurant that arrived 20 minutes after us. I received my food, and the table that arrived much later than us received all of their food, but my boyfriend didn't get any of his food. We found this strange because the table next to us ordered the same dishes that he did, yet we ordered at least 20 minutes prior to them arriving. We wanted to be able to enjoy our meal together but were unable to since my boyfriend's food arrived much later when I was already finished eating. When we asked the hostess/server why the table next to us got their food before us, she blamed it on the kitchen. Throughout this process, she was impossible to flag down, hardly filled up our water, and overall had a dismissive and cold demeanor. At the end of our meal, we asked to speak to a manager. She claimed there was no one on duty. She never once apologized or took accountability for what happened. By the time my boyfriend finished his meal, the table next to us had left long ago. Our dining experience was the opposite of what we had hoped for- it wasn't romantic to just watch the other person eat. We will never come back here. And we also left parched since our waters were so infrequently filled. Not a good dining experience at all. read more

I am so happy that COD made it through the pandemic, and it was so nice to have another DineLA visit here. The quality has not slipped, portions are good, pricing is reasonable, and the ambiance is casual and quiet. I feel like the interior area was redesigned to be less... cluttered? Or perhaps it just seems like a different place because I haven't seen a crowd during dinner time as of late? Make a reservation to be safe, but you can also get away with a walk-in. There's inside and outside seating, plus upstairs for special parties. I've noticed that they've been pretty understaffed when I've been here. One time, there was one server for the upstairs and downstairs! Will be back for more - especially that uni pasta. read more

Wow I usually come here for Halloween party and since I had a group coming we decided to try out the restaurant and we were surprised. Entrance is a nice quaint glass entrance door and parking we got lucky with street parking a couple blocks away by the liquor store. So not that hard to find. The food choices we had were the uni pasta, XLB dumplings, sausage fried rice, and sea bass. I was a little disappointed that the xlb were dried out when all the skin were punctured. Still taste good but dried. The host did offer to replace but we didn't want to waste time and appreciate the consideration. Sea bass was done perfectly and delicious as was the fried rice. Uni pasta was decent but I think it needs more of the uni flavor than the creamy flavor. Overall delicious meal. Afterwards went upstairs to do the Halloween celebration and it was a blast ! We went to the COD the other day and had a great experience. The restaurant is cute and the service was wonderful. We went for DineLA and sat at the bar, we also looked at the menu to order and extra snack bc we are foodies and wanted to try everything lol. We sat at the bar and Katyrina took care of us, and she was super nice, friendly and attentive, and had great recommendations . My friend had the smoking gun, to drink, which she really liked. For appetizers we had the xiao long bao which were pretty good (wish they were just a touch soupier but that's just me) and a salmon roll and split a clam chowder, which was delicious. As part of the Dine LA we had the oysters. We also had the grilled octopus which was tasty except idk if it needed the kidney beans, maybe on a mix of spring greens would've been better but idk. We also ordered the pan fried shrimp and veggie dumplings which were really tasty. For the entrees on dine la we had the Lamb chops and the uni pasta and which were both soooo delicious! I would definitely order them again. As for dessert for the dinela we had the yuzu cheesecake which was a lil small but super good. I'm assuming for the regular menu it's probably a little bigger but not sure. All in all I would definitely eat here again and I strongly recommend it! read more

Finally got to try out C.O.D.! I would always pass by it on my way to Bacari, but since I had foodie family members visiting town, I figured it would be a good time to try out a new spot. Boy was I right. We hit the jackpot going on the right night. We received amazing service by Dillian, especially since he was the ONLY server taking care of 9 tables and a party upstairs! I don't know how he did it but he made sure our experience was not impacted! He hooked us up and made sure we stayed happy! Our orders were put right in and each of the dishes came out at a good speed! We enjoyed the Crispy orange shrimp the most, but everything we had was yummy. There wasn't one dish we didn't like. We also ordered the Brussels, garlic noodles with chicken, shrimp fried dumplings, and the salmon carpaccio. We also ordered the lychee martinis and a mezcal margarita. Drinks were delicious as well. Excellent service and food in a trendy, late-night atmosphere. Came here late night after a concert with a seafood craving, and left immensely satisfied by the truffle uni pasta, among other things. Hokkaido scallop carpaccio (3/5): Good yuzu kosho and sauce, but the scallop itself was a little chewy. Bluefin toro handroll (4/5): Great quality fish, but the rice was freezing. I had this issue with a few of the assorted nigiri I ordered too. Truffle uni pasta (5/5): THIS was glorious. Creamy, decadent, and super filling. I loved it, and there was a fair amount of fragrant, fresh truffle on my pasta. The best thing about this spot is the unique menu, late night environment, and rockin' service. It was our first time dining at C.O.D and unfortunately we will not be returning. $200 (including tip) was wasted. Ambiance was ok. We were seated inside. There is apparently an upstairs dining area that we were not able to check out. Food: Beyond mediocre. Perhaps because we ordered from the DineLA menu. I feel like our food was not treated the same way as the regular menu. Such a shame. Reviews about the ling wait during service is accurate. We will definitely not be going back. The food was decent but the customer service was absolutely HORRIFIC. Our waitress, Melanie, takes first place for being the worst server i've EVER had. From the second she first walked up to our table she was just extremely rude and anytime we asked her a question she would respond in a repulsive condescending manner. She incorrectly put in half of our orders and when the kitchen confronted her about it, she lied about it right in front of us saying we never ordered those things with modifications. Mind you - she doesn't carry anything to write down any orders with. Lastly, the restaurant opens at 5pm and allows you to make reservations for 5pm, but the first server doesn't show up until 5:30 and if you show up at 5 they will make you feel like an annoyance for being there on time. Overall the food was okay, but NOTHING is worth the service you will receive there, at least from Melanie. I can't speak on the other servers. In my suggestion, don't eat here. There are sooooo many better seafood places in Los Angeles in terms of both food AND service. read more

I really don't like leaving bad reviews for restaurants, however deliberately sending out this dish to me on uber knowing it was made improperly is a huge middle finger to the customer. I ordered their Beef chow fun, very simple dish, with broad flat noodles and veggies. The chef, failed to stir the noodles and obviously threw the whole stack into the pot. Solid sushi at a lower than average price. We went on a Sunday and there were only a few other tables seated. I tried the rainbow roll and the albacore with crispy onion. The fish on top the rainbow roll tasted fresh, but the California roll part underneath seemed like it was made in advance, as the rice and crab was colder than it should have been and the rice was just slightly dry. Compared to our go-to sushi place, the prices at COD were about 1/3 less expensive. There is street parking which at times can be difficult, but we put the parking karma on and lucked out. read more

Service itself was great. I don't recall the waiter's name but he seared us about 2 hours before closing. He was attentive and gladly provided our asks given the restraint wasn't too busy that particular night. He seemed to be one of the bartenders. Food was the Uni pasta which I've never had uni before. The waiter asked the chefs to provide a small piece of uni so that we could taste it aside of the noodles when the dish arrived at our table. I will say, uni is not for everyone. It's not for me by itself but on the noodles and how it's almost melted into the noodles, it's actually not bad. Ask for the chili sauce from the spring rolls and pour a whole container of it onto the noodles and they will definitely taste "better". That's my opinion but I think that definitely took the noodles to another level. Wouldn't particularity go out of my way to come back but it was an experience for sure. After several orders between dining in and Uber eats, I have to say this is one of my new favorite places in Los Angeles! The food has been amazingly consistent, super fresh, extremely well seasoned and very delicious! The service is also very friendly and warm, and food comes out pretty fast once you order. The walnut shrimp is my absolute favorite thing, and the crispy brussels sprouts are something that everyone should try - even if you don't like brussels sprouts I think you'll find a reason to like them. Dining with friends I try a few as extra things on the menu like the miso shrimp, the spicy fish bites, and the garlic noodles all of which were delicious. I highly recommend this as a place to hang with friend or to get together for a meeting. It's not too loud and while it's not the coziest romantic type spot, it definitely is comfortable. read more

COD restaurant is located on 3rd St in the Beverly Grove area. Although this restaurant has been here for years, it was my first visit. From Beverly Hills, I always drive pass this restaurant while on my way to the Farmers market on Fairfax or The Grove. And as our city slowly loosen guidelines for COVID, I prefer seating outdoor for dining. The menu is Asian fusion of various popular asian dishes ranging from sushi, Chinese noodles, pan fried meats, seafood and veggies to select from. I've read so much about their truffle Uni pasta, so I had to try it along with the Hokkaido scallop carpaccio and the sautéed garlic green beans. Of the three dishes ordered, the scallops were best, as it was fresh tasting. The sautéed garlic green beans were crispy tender and flavorful. The most raved about Truffle Uni pasta was good NOT great...the Uni didn't taste fresh and was merely a decor topping. The pasta noodles seemed homemade in texture and taste was enhanced by truffle oil and cremé, I would say it was more truffle tasting than Uni :( Because the Uni topping wasn't fresh I was reluctant to order a side of Uni sushi. Service by my waitress could have been more attentive. The restaurant was nearly empty, but was busy with take out orders. I witnessed countless delivery people enter and exit, which was distracting and affected my dining experience, as the limited outdoor seating faces the only main door. 3rd street is super busy and over the lavender hedge were the valet people chatting :( Perhaps I will need to sit farther away from the main door and the valet, but the outdoor table I got was that. When I requested another table, the waitress said all tables were reserved, which was NOT true and/or a lie because I sat there for a good 40 minutes and there were no additional diners to fill the empty tables. Since I can't eat raw fish anymore so I couldn't order most of the items on the menu. Decided on dozen oysters of Kushi and Kumamoto. Spicy tuna crispy rice and shrimp dumplings. The oysters were very fresh and tasty. Food was actually pretty good. Service was attentive too. I didn't think it was worth the trip to come here for the similar food as Big Catch seafood house. The decor and ambiance of this place is far from the standard of a restaurant in West Hollywood! Oh well... Ps. I came here with a group of friends for DineLA. We made reservations and were seated upstairs in our own private area. The ambiance was very nice and the song playlist took us back to our middle school and high school days. Food was delicious and my personal favorites were the entrees: 1) truffle uni pasta The sauce used was so good. The pasta was filling as it felt like two servings. I was full 2/3 of the way. A plus if we had some bread to dip the sauce with. I scooped my uni before mixing the dish and split it up as pieces to go with each bite of my pasta. 2) sea bass (not pictured) Cooked to perfection and had such a buttery taste that makes you go back for seconds. This is a dish that I'd order a la carte next time I'm back. The restaurant provides valet parking. You can also park at the Beverly center and walk over as it is only a 5-10 minute walk. Ordered the BOGO vegetable garlic noodles through Uber Eats ($16.75 base fee) and was so pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes! I was able to stretch this out into 3 meals. The broccoli, asparagus, mushrooms, and carrots balance out the garlic and oils pretty well. I don't think I would be able to eat just this for a meal, as it is a bit heavy, but I did not feel like it was heavy in a greasy way. For a $$$ restaurant, this was a great deal.
